  1. Looks like Arcia was 1-3 with 3 walks yesterday. Awesome to see him taking walks like that, hopefully he's figuring some things out. Looks like his line is .302/.412/.488/.900 in AAA. I know it's Colorado, but I'm encouraged. And Santana is proving they don't just give away hits and walks down there. I may be wrong, but I think that lack of consistant playing time to start the season really did a number on Santana. Guys like him may need to play on a regular basis. I think this may effect a lot of players, not just Santana.
  2. It's a new day! Let's go into the break on a high note and see what happens after...
  3. I don’t get it, Villar has been playing well when given opportunities CC MUST have Perez in the line-up. He can't help himself.
  4. Maybe that is why he is playing today, for a brief showcase...
  5. Hader has pitched 2 times since June 29th, for a grand total of 4.2 innings. He pitches less than our starters. Is that the best way to use the guy? There just isn't an excuse for his management. We had plenty of close games where he could have been a factor, yet he rots on the bench. No wonder he hasn't been as effective (his last outing anyway), he never gets to pitch.
  6. Just saw the line-up online, Perez starting at 2B. CC just has to start him, just has to. Cain CF Yelich LF Jesus 1B Shaw 3B Sadadino SS Perez 2B Phillips RF Kratz C Chacin P
  7. It's a message board. I'll re-word it then: Please don't get your hopes up that Nelson can contribute anything on the positive side this season. We have been given date after date on when he might return, he has missed all those dates, and now is pushed all the way until Septemeber before he might be able to pitch for us again. I just can't see him being any kind of a factor, even if he does take the mound this year. If he sees action, I am expecting spring training type numbers from a guy who has been out for all of this season and a big chunk of last season. Shoulder injuries are serious business. Hopefully that is better.
  8. So I said *if*, twice, and that's still not good enough? Do you have inside medical information or sources that go beyond what the rest of us know? What is Stearns' reason for lying to us when he said he still expects Nelson to return this year? He could return, but to pin any hopes, and I mean ANY hopes on him contributing in a positive manner is foolish. It would be a miracle if he adds anything to this team this season. Next year, yeah, I'm on board with that, but I just don't see it happening this year.
  9. Why on earth would we want to give up the farm for this when THIS is what we already have starting for us this season? Still want nothing to do with Chris Archer. Chris Archer gave up two runs (one earned) in 4 1/3 innings and didn't stick around long enough to get a win in a lopsided thumping of the Twins on Saturday. The Rays gave him 19 runs of support but Archer couldn't last long enough to qualify for the win. He pitched well but was inefficient, burning 93 pitches in four-plus frames. His record holds at 3-4 with a 4.29 ERA and 1.38 WHIP in 15 starts.
  10. Michael Fulmer was hammered to the tune of seven runs in 4 2/3 innings and took a loss to the Astros on Saturday. He gave up 10 hits including RBI-doubles to Josh Reddick and George Springer, and solo homers to Reddick and Evan Gattis. Today's pounding knocks Fulmer's record down to 3-9 with a 4.50 ERA in 19 starts. He has 93 strikeouts and 38 walks in 112 innings.
  11. Stop including Nelson in any way shape or form, for contributing this season. It isn't going to happen.
  12. Trading Burnes now, an important addition to our bullpen recently, would be foolish. It appears that we need Burnes on this roster right now. I can't imagine DS trading a piece that is now playing with the big boys and contributing. Burnes better not be traded, he just, he just better not...
  13. Rallies in the 9th that don't lead to victories mean nothing.
  14. Agreed. Even a guy like Machado isn't enough to fix all our issues.
  15. Sure looks safe, but it was stupid to try and take 3rd there with no outs. geez, always something.
  16. His true love, Sogard, is gone. His current love, Perez, is still here, so better get used to seeing him in the line-up on a daily basis.
  17. How many positive posts in the last year have you had? Aguilar has been brutal lately though. That is a legit question if you ask me. Since he has become an all-star, I think he may be pressing. He has looked dreadful in numerous plate appearances since that time.
  18. Well, time to see what they can do for game 2. Will be interesting to see the line-up.
