  1. This SOL beer commercial can go away anytime now... I just hate the constant barrage of the same commercials night after night after night after night after night after night... Feldco windows, CALL NOW! Leinenkugels and that whistling tune... Gruber Lawffices.....One call, that's all... Pizza Ranch and all those ridiculous cliche's from Craig C...................................UGH!
  2. Yup, I think you are right, but I'm holding out hope. I know a lot of people now do seperate accounts so they can get more than one SSH bobble.
  3. Chris Archer His ERA has jumped the past 3 years. His WHIP has gone the same direction, UP! Hits per 9 innings, yup, UP! His ERA is 4.41 and WHIP is at 1.381 this season. Strike-outs per 9 innings is more than 2 less than last year. He walks a ton of guys, and gives up a LOT of home runs. I think he is trending down, and not any kind of an upgrade. For what he would cost, it's a hard pass for me. I still think we dodged a bullet, and I hope he is not someone DS is still considering at the deadline, or any other time.
  4. Please explain why you think Archer is a long term upgrade. His ERA has jumped the past 3 years. I don't find him to be interesting or a long term upgrade.
  5. or, had we not given up on Gennett, and had Jesus doing his thing as well, we'd be in pretty good shape, only needing a SS and a hitting catcher... It's all in how you look at it I guess.
  6. Oh how this can get ugly really quickly here... I have no faith in Barnes, prove me wrong here please!
  7. This might be Freddy's last inning, if he can get through it...
  8. That's the starting 2B job. He's lost playing time here and there, more often recently, because he has been bad. He's started more games in the field than newly-minted All Star Jesus Aguilar. Nope, Jesus has started one more game than him... Actually 2 counting tonight. Shaw 82 Yelich 74 Cain 72 Jesus 64 Villar 62
  9. He has started roughly 2/3 of the games at 2B, which means out of 92 games, he has been on the bench 30 of those games. That is not even close to a guy who has been given the 2B job the first half of the season.
  10. The only players on the team with more games started are Shaw and Cain. Shaw 82 Yelich 74 Cain 72 Jesus 63 Villar 62 Villar has not consistantly been given the starting 2B job. He is sporadic at best. He has started roughly 2/3 of the games at 2B, which means out of 92 games, he has been on the bench 30 of those games.
  11. Like I said, can’t wait for him to get a fresh start elsewhere. Well they gave him the primary 2B job (again) for the first half of the season and he was pretty mediocre (again). They did? Must have missed that.
  12. Jon Morosi of MLB Network hears that the Orioles are willing to trade Manny Machado to the Yankees if pitching prospect Justus Sheffield is part of the return. Sheffield entered the 2018 season as a consensus top-50 prospect in all of baseball and he has registered excellent numbers this year between Double-A and Triple-A, so the Yankees probably aren't going to give him up for a rental -- even a rental of Machado's stature. But this report is at least notable for the fact that the O's are willing to engage the Yankees in trade negotiations. Other teams involved in the Machado sweepstakes include the Phillies, Dodgers, Brewers, Diamondbacks, Braves, Cubs, and Red Sox. Source: Jon Meoli on Twitter Jul 11 - 11:45 AM
  13. Thor, who has pitched what, 90 innings since 2016? Way too risky for me!
  14. I think the ship has sailed on turning Villar into something more than what he is. His arbitration is getting somewhat expensive as well. The O's still may take him as filler, but he wouldn't have any value in the trade. It would be nice if Villar was allowed to play 10-12 games in a row, instead of playing 1 or 2, benched for 3, play one, bench for 2, then play 3. It is maddening to me that he just can't seem to play consistantly. I can 100% see it happening... Trade him to someone, he ends up being 2016 Villar for the next 3 years, based on consistent playing time elsewhere. Rant over.
  15. MLB teams need to send scouts to see Manny Machado? lol
  16. Getting this thread back on track with some of the latest news on Machado: Peter Schmuck of the Baltimore Sun reports that the Red Sox have been in "recent contact" with the Orioles about a Manny Machado trade. Schmuck notes that there was a Red Sox scout in attendance Tuesday night at Camden Yards for the Orioles' game against the Yankees. Boston isn't the most logical landing spot for Machado given the presence of Xander Bogaerts at shortstop and Rafael Devers at third base, but Devers currently holds a .290 on-base percentage in 89 games this year and could maybe use a little more minor league seasoning -- though he is slugging .424 with 14 home runs. Among the other teams connected to Machado over the last couple of weeks: the Phillies, Dodgers, Brewers, Diamondbacks, Braves, Yankees, and Cubs. Source: Baltimore Sun Jul 10 - 9:49 PM
  17. Acquire him for what, a spot on the DL? This guy just can not stay healthy long enough to help us. Pass.
  18. I might seriously cry if they get rid of Brown or Burnes. They are our future, and that future is almost here!
  19. I'm not sure how anyone can say that Woodruff is equal to, or better than Burnes. I said it before, and I'll say it again, Burnes is the 2nd best pitcher in our system, right behind Peralta. If I had to get rid of one in a trade, it's Woodruff, all day long.
  20. If you don't swing the bat but the ball hits it, it's still a foul ball. I'm pretty sure Rock is correct about this. Hands are part of the bat, Rock is correct. If you don't swing, and ball hits your hands, it's a foul ball.
  21. I'm still looking for this guy if anyone can help me out!
