  1. Never said he'd be cheap.
  2. 2 years of Peralta for a blocked Mayo is plenty to give up imo. How much longer can they keep Mayo at AAA? Is an injury the only thing that is going to give him a chance to move up? If we are throwing in Boeve or Wilken, then they have to at least give us a lottery ticket type pitcher in return. If they really want a starter, they have to give something up. I'd hate to see Freddy go, but it seems we may have already seen his peak.
  3. I wonder about Peralta to be honest...
  4. Highly doubtful in Smith's case. I'd take that bet too. Look, I realize you want to be right in this case, but you aren't. Smith is a really good pitcher that we made a mistake about. It's ok to admit that everything we do doesn't work out. When he was left unprotected, there were a lot of people on this very board that were not happy, and there is a reason for that.
  5. Whoever they start there for opening day, I hope they just run out the hot hand of the moment, whoever that may be at the time...
  6. I'm not basing my opinion on one 5 strikeout spring training game. His body of work points to success. I could see that in Appleton, and he did nothing thereafter to make me think otherwise. Leaving him unprotected because they are trying to win? So you are saying, had they kept him, it would be a sign of them not trying to win? I disagree with your thought process, which isn't complicated at all.
  7. meh, you know what I mean. It was a mistake leaving him unprotected, simple as that.
  8. I'm angry, and I'm not afraid to say it!!
  9. I'll take that bet. Kid is a stud, looked like a stud since we drafted him. There was no reason, ZERO in fact, to leave him unprotected.
  10. Rubbing some more salt into the Shane Smith wound: Rule 5 pick Shane Smith pitched three scoreless innings and struck out five versus the Dodgers on Saturday. He should be a lock for the White Sox roster, and he might find himself in the rotation at this rate. **a move we made that I will NEVER understand. I'd go as far as calling it an asinine move...
  11. Went and saw The Monkey today. Not a must see, but I found it to be pretty good. Kept me interested anyway. Not DVD worthy, but glad I went and saw what all the buzz was about.
  12. Joe Pickett on Paramount+ is pretty awesome! Easy to binge as most shows end with a cliffhanger, and you feel the need to see what happens next!
  13. I don't know why...If he is one of our best, and it appears to be the obvious case, then he should start out with the Brewers from day one!
  14. This one still stings... Shane Smith didn’t give up a hit over two scoreless innings in his outing against the Mariners on Saturday. Smith struggled Monday while allowing four runs in the first inning against the Rangers, but he was much more effective against Seattle. He didn’t walk anyone and struck out three. Smith is expected to a multi-inning option for the White Sox after being picked with the first selection of the Rule 5 draft in December.
  15. This nonsense again?
  16. That would be beyond sweeeeet!
  17. I simply can't wait!!!
  18. 100% agree. I hate Rockies hitters outside of Denver. The ONLY way I'd want him is if we give up next to nothing, literally, nothing.
  19. You have to use it at an away Brewers game, you just have to! No way I'd use it on two teams I don't care about, I'd want to see my team with seats like that!
  20. C'mon man...
  21. Ok, I don't hate this, don't really care to be honest, but we are still signing depth guys, but not for the position(s) we need it most. Arguably starting pitching and 3B. I have to think we are not done just yet...
  22. Of course they are, I hope we might be looking too...
