Update: The NFL is officially dead to me for the remainder of this season. Nothing they can do now will change my feelings, so hopefully they can get their act together for next year.

Personally, I don't think Counsell is our guy for the future, however, I think his job is 100% safe, so there probably isn't any reason to discuss it further. I just don't have any confidence in his in game management from line-ups to bull pen usage, it all needs to improve greatly if we are to take the next step. I'd cut Eddie "windmill" Sedar loose immediately if I had the power... Again, I think he is untouchable, so no need to speculate. I think everyone in the organization will just sit back and feel good about making it as far as they have this season, and that will be the end of it. I fully expect a couple major deals in the off season, bringing in a big time starter, a couple bullpen arms, and above all a BIG bat! I only hope we don't drain the farm in doing so. -
To me, that makes it even more frustrating... Seems like we often played up or down to the given competition. That will have to change, winners don't play to the level of their competition, they play above them.

The NFL is very close to being dead to me. My interest has waned the past several years, and the recent events have really soured me. If something doesn't change really soon, I'll tune out completely.

So we didn't benefit by using Knebel at all, anyone in our bullpen could have given up a 2 run jack. I'd rather have saved him, and used him if the 9th got tight, and we needed him. hindsight and all that...

I think it is unfair to say that the Cardinals players were not trying... They still want stats, they still want to get paid... As much as I hate them, I highly doubt they were not trying. -
Kershaw will not be used for a full start though. Lucky to see him go 2 innings.

There is no such thing as a stress free game against the Reds. I am starting to hate the Reds, not like I hate the Cardinals and Cubs, but hate none the less.

UGH! This just reminds us of the chances we have blown to take a HUGE lead in the WC race if only we had an offense when it mattered most. We could easily be 2 games up in the WC the way the Rockies have been playing. Blown chances...

Where do you think they will find that help for next year? 1B Thames/Aguilar 2B Walker/Villar SS Arcia 3B Shaw C Pina LF Braun CF Phillips/Broxton RF Santana I know they need a bat in a major way, but who takes the bullet if we go after a big bat this off season? Which positional player gets the boot in the line-up above? I'd like to see them go after a big slugger 1B as I do not think either of our options are going to be our answer in the future.
