  1. Many guys have also posted great number in the minors and with time, posted great numbers in the Majors as well... It's too early to close the book on Davis.
  2. I don't think he would be picked in the second round of a fantasy draft. I have 5 leagues and he was drafted in the following rounds: 11th 13th 11th 13th 13th
  3. Again, I highly doubt Ramirez would be on board with a position change this late in his career... Aren't the A's already loaded with pitching talent? Something tells me they wouldn't even be in the market for a SP.
  4. If Harper doesn't start playing like an elite player soon, he will lose all that elite player attention he is getting undeservedly... I get that he had a lot of hype coming into the league, but so far, he has failed to even come close to meeting that hype... Maybe a change of scenery would do him some good.
  5. So which is it? Is Donaldson good on defense, or not so good, I have heard it both ways...
  6. That would be an overpay... You want to move our current 3B to play 1B, a move that no one even knows if he would want to make, and could also cause us to lose him. I think Aramis has one decent year left, but if he is going to change positions, and he isn't on board with it, that is an issue. If we get Donaldson and Ramirez bolts, we are still left with a hole at 1B. In the meantime, you are giving up one of our top 2 power bats in Davis, and our best pitcher down the final stretch in Fiers? No thank you...
  7. Giving Bud recognition is one thing, retiring a number is another thing, a really dumb thing... I just don't understand why they felt the need to retire a jersey number, it makes no logical sense. Maybe do like they did for Uecker, put him up with the others, but retiring a number that he never wore is just stupid. It almost seems like they are reaching for reasons to retire numbers.
  8. Wow, I had no idea Babe Ruth pitched a game that late in his career... Was he on a pitch count?
  9. Just a purely asinine decision... I sure don't miss Yost, however, it kind of reminds me of starting Mark Kotsay in CF for a NLCS game with Carlos Gomez, arguably one of the best defensive CFers in the game, on the bench...
  10. Looks like the Royals just got "Yosted!" Why bring in a starter for the 6th inning when he hasn't done that before? Announcers are ripping that poor decision left and right, as it should be.
  11. That is the sad part, he didn't get to see how much the fans appreciated him... He would have gotten an ovation for sure...
  12. How on earth do you guys have a 2nd team? I can only support one team, under any circumstance. I don't have it in me to split loyalties. I hear of people all the time with more than one favorite team in a given sport, but that concept just doesn't compute with me... I actually sometimes wish I was a fan of a different team though, does that make me a bad guy?
  13. Sure thing, anything to make you happy, but I hope you plan to scold all the other RRR anti-supporters on this site. I know I am not the only one tooting that horn. That being said, I don't think this team needs to be torn down and start from scratch at all. I think the nucleus to a playoff team is here, we just need to fine tune a bit. It is obvious that we need a 1B that can put up some big offensive numbers. The band aids we have been trying to use just aren't going to cut it. I think if we can get that taken care of, we will be able to make a run at the 2015 playoffs as long as we also have a 3B in place, be it Aramis or a free agent type. Our starting pitching shouldn't miss a beat. Peralta is growing up before our very eyes, we know what we will be getting from Gallardo, Lohse, and Garza, which leaves one spot that might have some uncertainty. I can't imagine why we wouldn't go into the 2015 season with Fiers as our #5. He deserves it, he has earned it, so let him be the guy!!!! Segura needs to step up and prove he is our guy, I think he has earned another shot too given all the turmoil in his life this past season. I am not down on the 2015 squad, but I do think there needs to be a change in the coaching staff from top to bottom and get a fresh look on things with a new regime... Things aren't as bad as some are saying, but there will need to be some change if we plan on playing next October. Change can be good...
  14. I'd like to see KC vs Pittsburgh or Washington... As much as I try, I can't hate Pittsburgh, the team. I can hate specific players, but they have been down so long and I can't help myself in pulling for underdogs. Different story when playing the Brewers of course, then I hate everything about them...
  15. Corey Hart is a free agent, I truly hope there is not one conversation between DM and MA about bringing him in for a look...
  16. ...and firing RRR could also go a long way towards those 5 extra wins if we hire a competent manager to replace him.
  17. It isn't like RRR isn't replaceable. What he has done the past few seasons isn't working, I view the guy as nothing more than a below average baseball guy. He really brings nothing to the table that someone else won't bring, and with someone else, we at least have the chance that the new guy will make some needed changes and right the ship. If we stay with RRR, we know what we will be getting, the same old nonsense (I refuse to go into details as it just puts me in a bad mood...) It is time for change, and the fact that MA is questioning our coaching staff tells me that he knows it too. Drop the hammer MA! Do it now and begin the search for our new manager and coaching staff.
  18. I was typing my response while you posted this, which is why it says the same thing as you.
  19. This is highly doubtful. Agreed, I highly doubt that will be on top of everyone's Rickie memories list... He probably knows his limitations, and knew that wherever he lands next year, it wasn't going to be as a 1B. Late in his career, he probably just didn't want to hassle of a position change. It was completely ridiculous that RRR didn't get him in that game for an at bat. In his comments listed above, he doesn't call RRR by name, he said "the manager." I wonder if there is some resentment in there someplace. Just found it odd that he said "the manager" in that comment. I wish Rickie the best of luck wherever he is next year!
  20. True... I get attached to these guys every season, that is the downside to minor league baseball I guess. When the t-rats belonged to the Mariners, I didn't really care that much about the players, but now that they are "future" Brewers, it is a lot more fun, and I feel more invested in the team itself on a personal level...If that makes any sense...
  21. I hope we are next in line for a manager fir, er, um announcement...
  22. Man, I'm going to miss Ratterree and Coulter next year...
  23. Francisco Rodriguez said this weekend that he would like to re-sign with the Brewers. But the Brewers probably don't have the means to spend big on a closer, and K-Rod should command some lucrative multi-year offers on the open market this winter after posting a 3.04 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, 73/18 K/BB ratio, and 44 saves in 68 innings this season. "I definitely know where I want to be," he told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "I want to be here. But it is not my decision. There are a lot of things the front office has to do over the course of the winter. They know how I feel. My heart is going to always be here." Source: Milwaukee Journal SentinelSep 29 - 9:23 AM If his heart is truly in Milwaukee, he will sign an extremely team friendly deal, if he bolts elsewhere for the money, we will know that his heart was with the money all along... I do believe he wants to be back with the Brewers though... To be honest, I'm hoping the twenty minutes of terror is done in Milwaukke, unless we get him REALLY cheap...
  24. For God sake, please noooooooo. I'll take Dusty before that guy. Why not try and steal Paul Molitor off the Twins? You know he's going to get a shot pretty soon at managing a team...he would be a change of pace for us too, maybe his small ball abilities would transfer into our players. I think Molitor wants to coach the twins, not the Brewers. I think he will wait out that opportunity rather than to come back to Milwaukee. I still think he wants nothing to do with the Brewers organization...
  25. Lawrie has an injury issue, I'm not sure I'd want him back to be honest...
