  1. once again I'm reminded why I spend so much time here.
  2. cny... I live in Central New York state.
  3. I agree with the theory that this fight started because Manny inadvertently hit Prince with his coat. That's what I was coming here to post after just seeing this for the first time. Prince lost his temper, as he is prone to do, and I think more than anything its indicative of the frustration that this team is clearly feeling. I doubt this will be season changing event, however, it will fit nicely into any narrative one wants to use. I've been traveling and haven't seen many games the last week or so, but I'd guess this is more a result of crashing after the high of the successful Giants/Cards swing.
  4. Am I right that after tonight, the Brewers will still lead the season series with the Cubs? Am I also right that the Brewers have won 4 of 6 in Wrigley? I'm really am asking. Edit: tied for the season series.
  5. Then buy a ticket. One less Cub fan, voila. I live in NY.
  6. It is the presence of happy Cubs fans that makes this most unbearable. I don't see any end to them invading Miller Park, so I guess I'll just have to get used to it.
  7. My sentiments exactly. I'm not ready to give up on this season, but some series are measuring sticks. I think we'll have a good idea how the Brewers measure up after these 4 games.
  8. I disagree with this characterization - spineless. I pay to go to the stadium to watch the game, not be ridiculed by the 21 year old Cubs fan who just discovered beer. The confrontations are more than possible, they are highly probable, and it's not fun. Being in the crowd at a Cubs /Brewers game it is very often not possible to enjoy the game. I'm not spineless, I'm evaluating the product and I don't like it.
  9. I want to premise this post by saying that I know there are a lot of obnoxious Brewer fans, especially now that they've started to compete. That said, I've been to a handful of Brewer/Cubs games in both Milwaukee and Chicago. I will never go again because the behavior of the fans is unbearable, and in my experience it's mostly on the Cubs side. There is a general demeanor about the Cubs fans when they are in Milwaukee, acting as if it is a home game. There is nothing I hate more than hearing a Brewer pitcher booed at MP for checking a runner at first. It's simply classless. What bothers me is that I know that some Brewer fans are responding in kind at Wrigley Field. I've been to a Bears/Packers game at Soldier Field and it was more civil. I think that's a shame, and I hate that it's gotten to the point that I can barely watch the Brewer/Cubs games on tv any more because I simply despise the Cubs fans. It's not healthy, it's supposed to be fun, and I agree with another poster just a few back who said this series isn't really very much fun.
  10. i love it when bad baseball goes the brewers way
  11. We ask these things in Wallus' name. _______.
  12. This may be off topic, but I think a pitcher running off the field after the third out is much worse than watching a homerun. A pitcher should walk off the field. Regarding Braun's HR, it was a huge hit given that it put them in the drivers seat for a 4 game sweep on the road against the team chasing them in the playoff race. It's a big hit, it cleared the wall, go ahead and watch it. It's nice to see the Brewers making these plays for a change.
  13. nice to respond to the big inning so well. it's not over, but I don't get this team at all.
  14. This was the first Derby I've ever watched. I couldn't believe all the analysts and analysis. It's guys hitting the ball as far as they can, it's fun to watch, and that's that. I thought Reilly's comments about race/ethnicity were ok, it was an ok thing to comment on given that MLB consciously tries to reach out to minority communities in many ways. He sort of tossed it out and no one was willing to touch it, so it made it awkward. I'm not saying the Derby was the place to have that conversation, but I can see why someone would comment on it. I was expecting some mention of Braun being Jewish.
  15. So, the Brewers played bad enough to lose, but that wasn't a strike to end the game.
  16. Hey chadomac, The Saltshakers sound pretty cool.
  17. Yeah, asking for 10-0 is too much, but 7-3 would be quite good. So, as I'm trying to change my negative attitude, tomorrow is another day and this one isn't even over yet!
  18. agreed. if there's one thing i've learned from coming to this message board, it's that many brewer fans completely overreact. yes, we are sucking in this game... but we have had a successful season so far. relax. it's just one game. and thank you jason kendell for being a very smart catcher fair enough, I'll admit I have trouble seeing the forest for the trees at times. At the same time, it's not as if this is the first game the Brewers have taken a multi-run lead in late innings only to have to rally again. And, also, I've never been a fan of the Wild Card because it lets mediocre teams into the playoffs. The 92 Brewers were a very good team, but not the best, so no playoffs, there is something to that. Anyway, I'll admit I'm being very negative tonight.
  19. This probably belongs somewhere else on the message board, but I'm really starting to wonder why I continue to follow this team right now. I don't mean giving up entirely, but maybe a little Brewer vacation and then come back and see what it looks like in a week or so.
  20. Maybe the plan is to give Gagne a chance to redeem himself for the Reds game he blew in April.
  21. This team doesn't deserve a play off spot.
  22. this team is so much fun to watch. I love how it's always close and tense right to the last out. Taking a lead and holding it is just no fun.
  23. The Brewers end so many innings that way. Maybe not more than other teams, I don't know, but it seems like a lot of innings end with a hit and a run-down.
