    I thought the roads were in excellent shape yesterday? I did the Madison-Milwaukee commute about 11 AM or so. It was snowing like crazy, but nothing was sticking, leaving nothing but wet pavement. I did 75 the whole way, and felt entirely safe. I've seen a lot of traffic related accidents this year too. On Tuesday, while on Hwy.51 near McFarland/Stoughton, saw two full-size trucks on their backs, and another on its side. Too many cars in ditches to count. Anyone else on 94 yesterday see the semi that was stuck in the median? Sounds like we're in for some rain tomorrow. I'm all in favor of that.

    Hit 85 my junior year of high school (averaged 77-80), also had a nice breaking ball in the mid 60's, and a change in the low 50's (what was deemed a gravity ball). FWIW, I went 11-2 that year with a 2.85 ERA, and then of course, I was goofing around one day after the season was over and tore my rotator cuff. Now if I can hit 70, I'd be happy, it still hurts to throw sometimes.

    How do you begin? I don't want to spend any actual money, so if anyone has any tips on how to play with that in mind, I'd appreciate any help.

    Why don't we ask for Beltre in the deal with the M's as well? I mean, TGJ and Rottino are HOT commodities, as only Jack Z would know.

    I know this probably isn't the right place for it (but it is somewhat pertinent) but I have a pair of student season tickets available for purchase for the White 1/2 season portion of the schedule, available for 190 per seat or best offer. The tickets are in the lower level (section 117) but off to the side of the main student block, which means less rowdiness and a much better viewing angle, and are for Row M, seats 7 & 8. The package includes: Tues. Nov. 11 - UW-Whitewater (exh.) Sun. Nov. 16 - Long Beach State Tues. Dec. 9 - Idaho State Sat. Dec, 20 - Coppin State Tues. Dec. 23 - Texas Wed. Jan. 7 - Northwestern Thurs. Feb. 5 - Illinois Sat. Feb. 14 - Ohio State Sun. Mar. 1 - Michigan If anyone is interested, let me know. I am willing to go much lower than 190 as well of course but I'll just throw that out there as a starting #. I know we have a few UW students/ Madison-area residents on this site, so I figured it can't hurt to advertise here as well as other ticket sites. I actually had the good fortune to win a full season package, but having that coupled with full season hockey tickets just isn't feasible. I'd be living at the Kohl Center! Thanks for looking.     Bring on the winter. Fall, winter, and spring are all great seasons. The only reason I tolerate summer is because there is no school. That is it's one saving grace. Anyways, good to see some fellow fishermen/hunters here. I thought I was the only one.

    And what do first basemen rarely do? Throw the ball. Gamel would be great at first. An infield of Hardy, Escobar, Weeks and Gamel would make me very happy.

    Ugh why would you go see Carlos Mencia? He is terrible. Anyways, I would hit up Brady or Water. Can't go wrong with either of those.

    The people in the band party harder than anyone I know. I'm friends with a few guys who live in the Trumpet house (a lot of the same instruments live together), and the parties they used to throw were absolutely massive, total blowouts with hundreds of people. Some parties I remember them having five or six kegs, and 40-50 different varied bottles of the cheapest bottom shelf liquor they can find. It would be no surprise at the end of a night to see them kill 25 bottles of liquor and all of the beer. I live right behind the "Trombone" house now, and those kids are rocking out at all hours of the night. For the game yesterday, they had 10 kegs, five grills going full bore all day, and way too many people to count. Kind of disgusting, but wow. I've asked a few of these friends what the latest is about the current situation, and they honestly had no idea; they don't know what happened, who it was, how many people involved etc. Apparently, they think it was an extremely isolated incident involving just a couple people (freshman they said) who were hazed on the bus (the nature of the hazing is still unclear) and then the freshman called their parents and a few strongly worded letters were then dispatched to Mike Leckrone, who received them on Friday, and the rest is history. It kind of sucks for my friends in the band who weren't involved; they had a "free" ticket to the game as of 5 PM on Friday but had it ripped out from under them. A few spent 90-100 bucks to find another student ticket and the rest just didn't go at all.

    I always thought that Braun had a serious (and seriously hot) girlfriend??? I don't know why he would supposedly be frolicking with Marisa Miller (apart from the commercial duties) if this was the case. Let's hope Braunie is back in the lineup in a few days.

    I live with one too. He usually sucks anyways, but the past couple days he has really sucked. If the Cubs win tonight, I will try my best to avoid him for at least the next 5 days.
