  1. Success in baseball is all about making adjustments. Hiura came up in 2019 and hit like gangbusters because the league hadn't figured him out yet. Once they realized he had a giant hole in his swing pitchers made adjustments to exploit it. Now it's on Keston to make the adjustments to combat it. Is it possible? Yes. Is it likely? Doubtful, since it's been four years and he still hasn't done it.
  2. Good thing there's an entire homestand before the break. 😉
  3. Brewers/Dodgers is actually the main game, Phillies/Braves is only going to the east coast: https://506sports.com/mlb.php?yr=2024&wk=12
  4. It's pretty amazing how quickly he destroyed his image as one of the best managers in the game, only took half a season. Yeah, he got an extra $2.5 million a year, but if they have another season like this, how long do you think they'll keep him around? Meanwhile the Brewers offered to make him the highest paid manager in the league and he had a job for life here if he wanted it. Really, after the success he had here, how many losing seasons would he have had to have as Brewers manager for them to actually fire him? He had so much goodwill built up with the fans and burned it in an instant for what?
  5. Brewers are only a game behind the Dodgers. A good weekend and they move into the 2 seed.
  6. Ortiz is back, Contreras at DH, Haase getting his first start
  7. Awesome shutdown inning by Rea after the Brewers got him the lead. Milner was throwing, guessing Murphy was going to the pen if anyone got on base.
  8. Bryse is only at 59 pitches. If the offense can score some runs he could finish the game and save the bullpen.
  9. Phillies are at 11.3% to win the World Series. https://www.baseball-reference.com/leagues/majors/2024-playoff-odds.shtml
  10. Baseball Reference has us as 99.5% to make the playoffs and 97.8% to win the division. They also have us at the fourth highest odds to win the World Series at 12.2% behind only the Dodgers, Yankees and Orioles.
  11. Kinda crazy how he flushed his legacy down the toilet for an extra $2.5 million a year. He essentially had job security forever in Milwaukee. With the success he had here it would have taken multiple back-to-back losing seasons for his seat to even get hot.
  12. Meanwhile you're cheering a team named after alcohol.
  13. Criminal that Matty V only gets one inning, I really wanted to hear him call a Brewer HR.
  14. This. In their last seven games they've faced one starting pitcher with an ERA over 3. One of them, Reese Olson, they knocked around so bad his ERA ended up over 3 after the game.
  15. Brewers currently have the largest division lead in MLB.
  16. I do find it funny a lot of people have been saying that Contreras needs a full day off, that Murphy is going to wear him out and when Murphy finally gives him a day off against a pitcher with a ERA of almost 10 we get complaints about a Sunday lineup.
  17. Good lord, Maldonado's .OPS is .260?
  18. Both Happ and Swanson would have struck out looking if the ump gave Wilson the same strike zone he gave Imanaga in the first.
  19. The Brewers are currently the only team in the NL Central with a winning record.
  20. Really like this lineup from Murph. I'd much rather see Bauers and Turang vs a lefty over Miller and Monasterio.
  21. Cubs/Cardinals delayed by rain for 2.5 hours, first pitch scheduled for 8:40. Now let's hope for 15 innings so the Cubs don't get into Milwaukee until about 3am for a day game tomorrow.
  22. It is Myers getting the start. Odd they use an opener for Wilson and Rea and then let Myers start. Also Dunn recalled and Wiemer optioned. Hate the fact that Dunn is immediately starting over Ortiz. I get that he was raking in AAA, but if it turns back into a straight platoon I'm going to be furious.
  23. Just as an FYI on all Apple TV broadcasts there's an option to change the audio to either team's radio feed.
  24. Makes sense with Wilson and Rea, both guys who usually get pulled before going through the lineup a third time. Have Koenig get through the gauntlet of lefties in the first and then that allows Wilson and Rea to get through the 6th or hopefully 7th inning only having to face the top of the order twice.
  25. If only we had the technology to determine balls and strikes so there'd be no more arguments about them.
