  1. I have nothing good to say about the team right now, so I will say "yes! The first Piggly Wiggly Tailgate Tip of the season!"
  2. And the hits just keep coming.. C'mon Corey! Be alert
  3. Man, I hope that wasn't a sign of things to come tonight. Rickie scalded that ball
  4. For me I am just looking at how he looks by watching him rather than basing it off of his numbers so far. As Ryan Braun showed last night, one good game at this early juncture can take you from looking bad to looking pretty darn good numbers wise. I think Rickie's approach at the plate has been better and I think he has looked more under control and smooth in the field and if these trends continue I think it will pay dividends for him in the long run numbers wise
  5. Hopefully it does the trick! Cam is 2-4 lifetime off Blanton with both hits being HR's
  6. Getting ready to grill up my first batch of brats this spring, and it go me to wondering what others favorite types/kinds/brands of brats are along with their favorite way to prepare them. Personally, for brats I am a Usinger's guy (although tonight I am going with Johnsonville because Usinger's are hard to get in EC due to the fact that they won't freeze their sausages) and I like to make them one of two ways: 1)Boil them for a bit in some beer and onions and then grill them OR 2)Just throw them on the grill as is. It really depends on what I am hungry for that day. Feel free to include your favorite types and/or methods of preparation for italians and polish sausages too. A huge pet peeve of mine is when people lump brats, italians, and polish into one group and just refer to them as brats. They are totally different animals in my book. For italians, I like either Dentice Bros. or Sendik's homemade ones. Glorioso's are pretty good too. I just straight up grill my italians and either grill up some peppers and onions to go on them or slice up some banana peppers and put those on along with some marinara sauce. Oh, and you gotta have a good roll for the italians too! I like the ones from Sciortino's. As for polish sausage, not a fan. Let's here what you think!
  7. Dear Loop- Please do not give Ryan Howard anything to hit tonight as he is 4-5 career off you with all 4 being HR's. Thanks - GH

  9. I never knew King Hippo and Prince Fielder were one and the same!
  10. With the kind of stuff that Parra has, he should be able to pitch he way out of many of the jams that pitchers run into during the course of a season. Kind of like C.C. did last year when he would be towards the end of his rope in some games and get in a jam and just did deep, take it one pitch at a time, and make the pitches you need to make to help get yourself out of the tough spot. He would physically AND mentally tough. That may not be a real fair comparison seeing that C.C. is C.C. and Manny is well, Manny, but it was the first one that came to mind. Instead it seems like most of the times Manny gets into trouble he crumbles like bleu cheese and loses his composure. I would say this points to a lack of confidence and mental weakness.
  11. Nothing wrong with a little "kick in the butt" once in awhile. We can all use one every so often; regardless of our line of work or play. And nobody said it has to take place in public. Maybe it has already taken place behind closed doors, but usually the fans hear about that one way or another so I'm guessing it really hasn't happened just yet.
  12. Maybe they should change their name to the Mil"WALK"ee Brewers
  13. Well then I am all for it because I think both Macha and the fans deserve to feel better...http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  14. I guess I'm late to the party. How terrifyingly bad can it get. On a side note, I can't believe 6 pages into the IGT and not one mention of Hall's defensive gems AGAIN tonight. If there is a 3rd baseman currently playing better defense, I'd like to see it. He looks tremendous! And 3rded (or 7thed?...I lost count) on just DFA'ing Julio when Hoff gets activated this weekend. Moyer had zero interest in taking a meaningful swing there and he walks him after a 1-2 count. That is totally inexcusable and a guy like that does not belong on our roster or probably anyone elses for that matter. Buh-bye
  15. This is an interesting question you pose... Not that this is really related because these guys aren't legends or managers, but I did notice yesterday that the Nationals have 2 former Brewers on their coaching staff: Pat Listach at 3rd base and Marquis Grissom at 1st base
  16. I have mentioned this more than once, but Rickie DID NOT blow that double play on saturday against the cubs; the ump blew the call. I was sitting in the first row in the Loge level on the 3rd base side and I could see clearly with my naked eye that he was out by at least a half a step. It was a scoop play and Prince did a nice job with it, but short hop throws like that really do not slow down the time it takes to get there. The throw was perfectly on line, just a little low. Like theavrock said, plays like that happen all the time. Look at how many balls D Lee scoops out of the dirt. Throws in the dirt on plays where middle infielders have to get rid of the ball quickly, whether it be because it was hit in the hole or up the middle or on a DP, are almost expected and most self-respecting 1st basemen expect to dig out the majority of them.

  18. I totally agree with what is being said in the thread about TK. She really is good at her job and you can tell she takes it seriously and loves what she does. It also seems that when there is a bit on about the Crew she almost gets a little sentimental or reminiscent or misty eyed or something. She is definitely moving forward in her profession, but I can't help but think she does miss her hometown team a bit. And I will also agree that she looks great! Really liked what she had going on with her hair last night. She is much better than Hazel Mae. Not even close really. I'm guessing that maybe FSN didn't give her much of a wardrobe expense account because her wardrobe seems to be much better now on the MLBN. I love that channel - its pretty much all I watch besides baseball games and maybe 2 or 3 other weekly shows.
  19. I don't know if they are the same now, but Tostitos used to make Lime 'n Chili chips that I thought were great. Maybe they are just lime now?
  20. I liked it the old way better too. It was hilarious because like you said, one would get out to a huge lead and then jog in place and then fall in behind a couple that just passed him. I do dig the little ones running the last leg of the relay on sundays though
  21. I was wondering what others thought of the Marlins and their fast start to the season? Obviously 11-1 is a tremendous start and they have a lot of talent top to bottom on the team, but I am curious to see how they fare when they start playing some better teams. Over half of their current win total has come at the expense of the juggernaut now known as the Natinals. Thoughts...
  22. I hear what you are saying TheCrew07, but to be fair you do have to keep in mind that one of those triples was a routine pop up that Hart lost in the sun. But yes, more often than not Soup is going to need to have some thing go his way to pitch into the 7th and give up 2 runs or less. But I do think he threw some very nicely located pitches yesterday. The pitch Delgado hit for a double in the 1st was not a bad pitch - he's just a great hitter and goes to left as good as any LH around. And Murphy got hits on some great pitches too. That guy is going to be one heckuva hitter
  23. Ru Rah Rah - I don't think its so much that he is trying to crush everything or that he is trying to model himself after Soriano (I don't even like typing that name). Its just that he has incredible bat speed and when he does square up a ball it is going to jump off his bat and be a rocket. And not so much this year seeing he has cut down some on the amount he chops down at the ball, but in previous years with a swing like that combined with his bat speed it would put a ton of back spin on the ball causing it to really fly.
