  1. It is easy to foresee great success for the second half T-Rats. Pitching will be the key, but the lumber just received a major upgrade this week with Davis Brother 2 and Morris.
  2. So what's the scoop on Johnny Dishon? I never met a toolsy OF from a big time baseball school I didn't like. How does he compare to Demetrius McKlevie? He signed quick, and played for LSU with a number of other very talented OF'ers. I'm not much of an amatuer baseball mind, so any help would be great. I have read Colby's report, so that's all I really know.
  3. I agree with Tbaddder. Forget about Hellickson/Jennings/Martin Perez/Smoak/Teheran/Bumgartner/Simon Castro/Bucholtz/etc. Even guys like Mejia/Kyle Gibson/Font/Matt Moore/Alex Colome/etc. will be tough to pry away from teams in any deal. Not saying I agree with it whatsoever, but as tampa has shown, there is more to running a MLB franchise then putting the BEST product out on the field. I know everyone hates this idea, but if i can't get one guy that belongs in the first group of players I listed, I take the draft picks. We can't just give away impact bats, and he has the biggest impact bat on this team. At least in the draft we get to choose from a much larger selection of players. I am more then fine letting Tampa/Atlanta/Texas/Anahiem realize they are short a big bat when the playoffs come. If they don't want to pay up, then let them suffer. At least the Brewers will be able to let everything play out on their terms instead of just bending over in front the rest of the league. Then, maybe next time we can get full value for Lawrie, or Gamel, or whoever.
  4. Would the Royals have interest in Carlos Gomez? Gordon for Gomez? I think it is all moot though. The Royals are just waiting our Jose Guillen's contract, then Gordon will be the everyday LF'er.
  5. If he can't even get a Sept. cup of coffee, then I feel super bad for the guy. His production will speak loudest, so I hope he keeps it up.
  6. Leave them where they are. Might as well at least find out if they can handle a premium position. Both guys are more then capable of sticking where they are. Lawrie has 12 errors, which is actually not all that bad for a 2B. He also has a range factor north of 5.0 which is outstanding (SSS). He had a 4.25 RF last year. Gamel can make all the plays, he just needs to harness his arm. His arm is fantastic btw.
  7. He was killing it, got hurt, came back, got HBP 13 times in 6 days, and hasn't played since. No tailspin involved imo. Everyone just needs to chill.
  8. I doubt hegot sent down for his performance on the field. They likely are trying to make room for Salome in that OF. Haydl/Cain/Gindl at AA, Komatsu/Schafer/Salome in A+, Davis, Richardson, Davis in A. Those are some impressive OF prospects imo.
  9. Idk guys, I think you are taking for granted some really great, 'breakout' years. Gennett, Davis, Heckathorne, and Odorizzi at WI. Komatsu and Fiers at BC. Cain, Lawrie and Wheeler at Huntsville. Plus there are guys like Kinzler who have really put their name on the map. Idk if those are 'breakout' years, or just really good years, but Cain especially is having the most success he's had since he was a league MVP in rookie ball. Lawrie is outproducing what he did last year at low-A. Komatsu is having a very nice bounceback. And the WI guys are all in their first full season of pro ball. I realize the results are not there record-wise, but the season has been far from an utter disaster. The dissappointing seasons thus far by Arnett, Peralta, and Scarpetta make it all seem worse because those guys are top 10 pitchers in our system. I get that. Still, they all have half a season to bounce back yet. Maybe as Prince heats up, some of these guys will too. Long season. And, we now have all the draft picks to root for! I can't really comment on the coaching situation.
  10. Nice signing. Sounded like he was at least thinking about returning to UT.
  11. Just paroozing BR. Richardson is starting to figure things out at the plate. He will only get better as he moves up. His OBP is .090 points higher then his BA now. That seems to be improving as the years wears on. Dykstra is holding steady while Gennet and Davis continue to put up league MVP-ish numbers. Can we expect Morris to join low-A? What about Thornburg and the Michigan guy? I thought Komatsu had more pop? I'll just attribute it to Space Coast I guess. On the other hand, he seems to be a better base stealer then I thought. Lawrie is a beast right now. He is sporting a very nice Braun-ish slash line now at a much younger age. Cain is just waiting for Schafer to get going. Then he'll get his bump. He does only have 12 Exb, but those have been more frequent lately. Haydel is making small steps forward. Wheeler is having a very, very nice year. Hasn't he been an all-star at every stop? Green and Gindl have lines that could use a week long hot streak. Hopefully Farris is back soon. Gamel looks good, not great. Can't really complain though. Katin still with an OPS over 1.000, it will be interesting if he can keep it up. Oh, and Hitanial Arias is raking in the DSL!
  12. Wow, look at Skaggs' K:BB. That is an interesting list. An interestin thing to add would be what each guy signed for.
  13. Not cool BK, haha. So, how long do we own Chad's rights?
  14. I wouldn't ask if I had cable, but I hope someone is gonna pay close attention to Jimmy's start this weekend. And, a brief report would be sweet too! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  15. Make sure you go out and get Carlos Santana today!
  16. Man, that vid gave me chills. Good for him. Seems like he has surrounded himself with decent, and talented, people.
  17. I'm just gonna wait until august 18th to comment on this draft. X is right, the talent in this draft was pretty pitiful.
  18. He is gonna strike out a lot. What matters most for him is how his plate discipline translates from the SEC. His power is there.
  19. So what happens in that OF when Kentrail Davis returns? BC is much more interesting now.
  20. Crap, the Pirates may have just selected the two best arms in the draft.
  21. Hendry can handle that all by himself....
  22. haha, that is awesome. Great report chemist! Rogers is really, really starting to excite me again.
  23. I know I'm kind of a Homer, but are those guys really that much better then Rivas, Rogers, Peralta, Scarpetta, Odorizzi, Heckathorne, Arnett, Bucci, etc?
  24. I would jump for joy if he drafted any of those 4. I might be willing to take a chance on Yordy Cabrera as well. I say take Allie, offer Scheppers money, maybe a bit more. If he declines, try to meet in the middle somewhere one last time. The comp. pick for not signing him protects us somewhat. Next years draft is supposed to be pretty dang good.
