CPI flat from June, down if you exclude housing costs. Supply chain pressures easing, starting to hear of gluts in some products/commodities. If you're thinking of making a big purchase, hold off for a month if you can.

I think that it's as simple as the Brewers don't make this deal without Rogers coming back. In fact, without another very good reliever/closer coming back the Brewers don't trade Hader unitl the offseason. The Padres might have been the only team that the Brewers would have traded Hader to. -

If all you knew about a guy is that as a 23-year-old CF in 374 PAs between AA and AAA he had a .467 OBP, a 52:65 BB:K ratio, and 13 HRs, what type of a prospect would you say that he is? Granted, that is in the Texas League and the PCL, but OBP plays anywhere. Looks like he's put a lot of work into pitch recognition and strike zone management as his BB:K ratio has improved dramatically over the last 3 years. -

Plus if you drive a car 349 miles and show up at a gas station on fumes, 5 minutes later you can completely reset its range to 350 miles after filling up. Correct, but my point is how often do you need that? How often to you drive more than 200 miles in a trip? For most people, maybe 2-3 times a year? And what % of the total mileage/gas in a year does that encompass? 10%? And if you're spending $4-5K/year on gas, won't the gas savings pay for a few rental cars and then some? particularly in rural areas that often require vehicles with significant towing or storage capacity, or for people living in urban areas that don't have the means or real estate room to have their own secure charging station. 1) In rural areas aren't gas stations fewer and further between? Don't people have to go out of their way to get gas? Wouldn't it be much more convenient to have your own "gas station" at home instead of driving "into town" to get gas? B) I live in an urban area. Almost every parking ramp that I go into has EV charging stations; if it doesn't, there is one within a block or two that has one that people can park at instead. Residences (apartments and condos) know they have to have them to attract tenants. I would bet that the parking lot/ramp for every major corporate headquarters has charging stations. And in urban areas you don't have to travel very far to get where you are going, making a charge last weeks. (Gas is also more expensive in urban areas. It's $5.79/gal in my neighborhood as of yesterday.) I see plenty of people parking EVs on the street or in the parking area in the alley with no charging station because they can charge at work or at the ramp they park at when they go out to dinner or shopping somewhere.

The other thing that is being developed is Battery-as-a-Service. Nio, the Chinese EV company, has developed a battery swapping service similar to an oil change that takes 3-5 minutes to change out a bettery, about the same time it takes to fill a gas tank. Because the battery is leased, you don't purchase it with the vehicle, reducing the cost of the vehicle by up to $10K. It's not likely to get widespread usage, but it's an interesting technology that's available if needed. I would also be shocked if chain restaurants located just off of freeways aren't looking into adding charging stations in their parking lot. If people need to charge, they can do it while getting lunch or dinner which they would stop for anyway.

He showed signs of this in 2019 when he was league-average age in A+. If he played another position I would likely agree with you, but it is really hard to find catchers with a good hit tool and he's athletic enough that the Brewers have played him 137 innings in LF this year as well. More to the former, if you can find a catcher with numbers like he put up this year I am not inclined to move him for minimal return and will take the chance that it's a fluke.

Having Tyler Black makes Felix Valerio expendable in a trade. Frelick makes Mitchell and Gray expendable. Agree on Eduardo Garcia with the drafting of Brown and the emergence of Cam Devanney. Same for Freddy Zamora, and for the right player Brice Turang. Jakson Reetz makes Feliciano expendable for whatever he's worth. Anyone in Carolina except Chourio and Quero. I guess the "would really have to blow me away" are Chourio, Black, Frelick, Wiemer, and Small. Mitchell, Quero, Turang, Kelly, and Reetz would require a player with multiple years of control.

Given the dearth of CF options that may or may not be available, I understand why the Brewers spent high draft picks on Mitchell and Frelick.

If you would have read the articles I linked you would have saw that 180 miles is on the low end of range. The Chevy Equinox, expected to be in the $30K's, is expected to have a range of around 300 miles. The Audi Q4 eTron is 250 miles. The Fisker Ocean 250 for the low end model, 350 for higher end models. The Ford F-150 Lightning AWD version is 300 miles, the Chevy Silverado is expected to come in around 400 miles, the Ram 1500 up to 500 miles. Now, cold-weather range may be less as the heater runs off of the battery. To which I say, wear a jacket and gloves. And who said rental cars cost $100? (Mods - perhaps you should split the EV discussion into it's own separate thread)
