  1. Spangenberg gets revenge for releasing him.
  2. /starts counting all the hands on heads. Between hands on heads or hands over mouths, I counted 45.
  3. Sometimes the reason they're released isn't because of performance.
  4. Absolute gift from the officials. The ball was still in Trubisky's hand when Chubb hit him.
  5. The Cardinals final 13 games are all against the Nationals, Cubs, and Diamondbacks. That's 13 guaranteed combined losses by those teams. The Cardinals and Cubs play 7 more times this year. That's seven guaranteed losses combined by those teams. If my math is correct, if the Brewers win 11 of their last 13 they are guaranteed to at least have a play-in game 163, and if they win 12 of their last 13 they are guaranteed to get in. Every game that the Cardinals and Cubs lose to someone other than each other reduces that number. The worst thing that could happen is for the Cubs to win 4 of their last 7 against the Cardinals. Every win more or less than 4 reduces the number of games the Brewers need to win in order to make the playoffs from 12. Every game that the Cardinals lose to the Nats reduces that number from 12 as well.
  6. Other than keeping the Brewers in it, these two wins were vital in that regard. We need the Cards to keep fighting until the end against the Cubs and such. The Cardinals final 13 games are against the Nationals, Cubs, and Diamondbacks. That's 13 guaranteed combined losses for those four teams. Cardinals face the Cubs 7 times - that's seven guaranteed losses combined by those teams. If my math is correct, if the Brewers win 9 of their last 13 they are guaranteed to at least have a one-game play-in, and if they win 10 of 13 they are guaranteed to be in.
  7. For all of the concerns about Black and his control, in a micro-small sample he has the 3rd lowest walk rate in the bullpen behind only Suter and Faria. I keep wondering when Counsell is going to move him into a later-inning higher leverage role instead of the 5th/6th inning role he has been in.
  8. I'm much more concerned about the time that Yelich missed this year due to his back than his kneecap. Those things usually don't get better. I would be very, very hesitant to give a big money extension to a guy whose back flares up a couple of times a year in his 20's. He could easily have a Tulowitzke type of career trajectory.
  9. I absolutely love these... but Houser was called up to the majors in 2015. Hader not until 2017, same with Phillips. Only Santana was brought up by Milwaukee before Houser.
  10. He was supposed to be one of the next stud TE's for the Badgers. I'll be honest, I lost track of him. I now remember he transferred, but I think he was a 4 start out of Cali and we pulled him with a good QB(maybe Coan) and he was supposed to be a really good receiving threat. It was Austin Kafentzis, the dual threat QB out of Utah, and Gary Anderson's last recruiting class that Chryst had to try to save when he came in. Kafentzis saw the writing on the wall when Chryst came in, especially with Chryst bringing in his guy (Hornibrook). The only players who exhausted their eligibility from that 19 person class are Moorman, Shaw, Edwards (declared early), Sagapolu, Baun, Pfaff, Orr, and Ingold. Farrar, Penniston, Kafentzis, Booker, and Hornibrook transferred, and the rest retired due to injury or quit football (Dietzen, Estes, Thomas, James, Howe, Whalen).
  11. I remember when they did that with Aaron Gibson when he was a freshman. 350-lb TE going in motion and then coming through the gap.
  12. Former Brewers draft pick and farmhand Johnny Davis has finally made the majors. His contract was selected by Tampa Bay from AA. Amazing, considering he was playing in the Mexican League until August 29th. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2019/09/rays-select-johnny-davis.html
  13. Germans? Say what, now?! Forget it, he's rolling.
  14. He probably won’t end up taking a loss. Not so much. Not even the worst line by an Astros pitcher in the game.
  15. Keep the Packers thread to Packers stuff and put other NFL stuff here Antonio Brown... etc... etc...
  16. Seriously, how many players in MLB history have suffered a broken kneecap on a foul ball? I can't think of one.
