Going to DC this weekend and will catch one of the games but not sure which one yet, either Friday or Sunday. While three days is nowhere near enough to see everything in DC, I'm wondering what people's 3-4 most recommended things to see/places to go are. I haven't been to DC in almost 20 years and that was for work; I've done very little sight-seeing there. We'll be staying in Arlington, so any recommendations for dining/drinking are appreciated as well.

Outstanding outing for Webb - 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R/ER, 0 BB, 6 K. By the end of next year, that 2016 draft class of Ray/Erceg/Feliciano/Webb/Burnes/Z. Brown/Henry/McClanahan/Jankins/W. Wilson/Hummel/Roegner/Lillis is going to be a very special one. No superstars, but a lot of solid major leaguers and some legitimate SP prospects. Wilson and Hummel are starting to look like legitimate bench options, and when you can get that in the 17th/18th rounds that is a nice bonus. The only positions Wilson hasn't played this year are C and CF.

Things have gotten interesting with the additions of Lyles, Hernandez, and Thompson. 40-man is now full, and Nottingham isn't healthy yet. I think Broxton, Santana, Knebel, Davies, Woodruff, Barnes, and Bandy get the call, with Saladino and QTC possibilities. Orf & Hernandez get DFA'd to make room for Bandy and QTC. Give the nod to Bandy over Bethancourt simply due to having more familiarity with the staff. They'll backfill AAA and AA with promotions or street free agents. Likely why Franklin is going on "rehab" appearances - they need him at AAA for the playoffs. Guys like Cooper Hummel, Ryan Aguilar, Nathan Kirby, Luke Barker, and Daniel Brown will get promoted to AA, possibly Eddie Silva, Tristen Lutz, Clayton Andrews.

If they send those guys down they may not be eligible to be recalled for the Cubs series. Would suck to score the winning run and get DFA'd, but DFA-ing Lyles is the most likely option to bring up a fresh arm. And it might be Wilkerson up as he is on the Temporary Inactive list at AAA. -
Burnes never had a K rate like that. Over his last two games: 12 IP, 9 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 22 K

He has to stay down for 10 days once optioned so couldn't have been recalled on 9/1 anyway right? Not necessarily true: https://www.mlb.com/news/september-callups-and-roster-rules-explained/c-198674756 If that team's season ends he can be recalled prior to 10-days. -
First game is on 8/31 and trial doesn't start until 9/6. If the evidence was that strong to support Cephus than I would think that charges would not have been filed in the first place. I think unlikely until at least 3rd game, thus why Davis was suspended for the first two. The thing that makes me scratch my head about the girls story... if they were stupid drunk at the bar like they claimed, what bar wouldn't have kicked them out or called the police? If you stumble all over the place in a bar, especially around campus, you get bum-rushed out of there in a flash or have the cops called or both. Second, the girl threw up in the hospital while talking to the detective around 4:30am. But she left the bar around midnight-12:30am. There was no mention of alcohol consumption at Cephus' apartment. But the original article said she - and the entire hospital room - reeked of alcohol. If she left the bar around 12:30am and stopped drinking... she reeked of alcohol and threw up four hours later? How often does someone throw up four hours after they stopped drinking? I think there is a decent chance that the girls drank a lot of alcohol - perhaps on purpose - after leaving Cephus' apartment.

You'd think that Carolina would be more logical from a logistics standpoint. However, the Brewers start a 3-game homestand with the Cubs on 9/3. You can bet it will be all hands on deck for that series. -
Get as much talent on the 40-man roster as you can and then pick your roster in the post-season.

Davis suspended for two games but not charged. Hopefully a positive sign and not a suspension to give more time for them to investigate Davis.

Coulter has a .796 OPS, Ray has a .825 OPS, so not an egregious oversight. Maybe they need a corner OF and want Ray to stay in CF and work on defense. If they need a corner OF... maybe it means Santana to MIL?
