  1. So, uh, Zack Brown is having a really nice game through seven (ahem)...
  2. So, uh, Zack Brown is having a really nice game (ahem)...
  3. Lucas Erceg walks home a run, and Nick Ramirez replaces Jake Gatewood at 1B after Jake gets hit by a pitch and it's only the top of the 2nd. Hope Jake is OK and it wasn't to the head.
  4. Florida Atlantic ran the table in Conference USA and won their bowl game 50-3. Biggest news right now is that Garrett Rand apparently blew out his Achilles and out for an indefinite period of time. Isaiah Loudermilk had knee surgery and is also out indefinitely, but it sounds like that was planned and he should be back this year. As I mentioned above, Hirschfeld would have provided valuable depth. We'll find out how good Pfaff, Howe, and Preston are real quick. Heard they are trying to get Preston up to 270+ (currently 249).
  5. I thought Missaki was throwing again and close to coming back? Did he have a setback?
  6. In general, yes, but inside the ballpark I've had way more issues with Cubs fans. Dodgers fans are third worst.
  7. Not really - .255 OBP in June over 13 games (2 BB, 19 K) He had a great May, but April and June so far have not been good. I also normalize numbers for the position they play, and at 1B it definitely needs to get better.
  8. Nothing in here about changing his story: https://www.acmepackingcompany.com/2018/6/12/17455462/packers-ha-ha-clinton-dix-reveals-reason-for-missing-otas-family-situation-no-more-drama-please Link to him changing his story?
  9. Has to work on that .295 OBP and 7% BB rate though. If Braden Webb can get the BB down he might have as much upside as any pitcher in the system. There's a reason the Brewers drafted him before Burnes.
  10. He said a week or two ago that he had been having trouble finding the feel for his curveball or slider, don't remember which. Has nothing to do with fastball velocity.
  11. Yep. These guys are so competitive that they always try to play though it... but they need to realize that the next guy up is usually better at 100% than they are at 75%.
  12. Quite the pitching line - 6 IP, 4 H, 1 R/ER, 1 HR, 1 BB, 8 K. One of his best lines ever.
  13. Medeiros just helped himself literally as well as a pitcher possibly could. Pitching well too.
  14. His slump seemed to coincide with the acquisition of Saladino. I wonder if that left him feeling demotivated, like he's given his best but still didn't get an opportunity.
  15. The problem is defensively - if he is limited to LF, you have to be an elite hitter at the major league level or an elite defender and an average hitter. Still a small sample this year, but an .838 OPS in low-A ball doesn't project to a major league starting LF unless he is a plus defender.
  16. I don't think that this is anything more than Miller replacing Sogard, whether that be in the majors or AAA. SS is between Arcia and Saladino, and they don't want to bring up Miller until Saladino is healthy because they don't want to put themselves in a place where Miller has to start at SS if Arcia gets injured. Miller will platoon with Villar at 2B and maybe play SS against really tough RHP. Either way, it's likely the end of the Nick Franklin era, at least for 2018.
  17. Freddy Peralta being Freddy Peralta, Cam Roegener back in the saddle after a couple of rough outings. Zack Brown got bit by the long ball and a few walks, but only gave up four hits in five innings. Manny Parra still alive and well, trying to come back from missing all of 2016 and most of 2017.
  18. And it cost him $1M to do so, as he got $750K from the Tigers the next year instead of the $1.7M the Dodgers offered him.
  19. Stymied by former Brewers 3rd round draft pick Cy Sneed, who is having a very nice year in AAA especially for the PCL.
  20. And pitched well too - 45 P, 2.1 IP, 3 H, 1 R/ER, 1 BB, 3 K Kirby followed with a nice outing too. Hell, everybody for Carolina is having a nice night.
  21. I guarantee you that the Brewers know exactly what it will take to sign at least their top 6-7 picks, if not top 10.
  22. Eric Thames sighting in the boxscore! Houser goes 75 pitches - 4.2 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 4 K. Tough Fresno lineup with A.J. Reed, Kyle Tucker, Tyler White. Diplan working his way back to prospect status.
  23. I've always been of the opinion that it's hard to put a price on the experience of going to college during your 18-22 years. It's even harder to put a price on it when you have an opportunity to play on one of the top sports teams at Florida State or LSU. I can tell you, if you're a BMOC at one of those two schools (and many others) the quantity and physical attractiveness of the girls who will be interested in you is infinitely higher than if you were at Helena, Appleton, Zebulon, or even suburban Phoenix (lots of pretty women there, but you're just a guy in a big city with lots of athletes and rich dudes). Go enjoy college, young men. There are certain aspects of it that you truly cannot put a price on.
