Nice to know I'm not alone in this. Although mine isn't at end of semester, it's that halfway through the semester I realize there's a class that I forgot about and haven't been attending.

There is one other aspect to a lifetime ban - MLB teams cannot do anything to honor or mention that player. Now we know that racism is socially reprehensible and nobody with any type of racist behavior would ever be elected today. Swearing on TV (not pay networks such as Netflix, HBO, Cinemax, etc.) used to be socially reprehensible; in recent years I've heard the F-bomb said on the USA network. I wasn't around, but it doesn't sound like many eyebrows were raised when Joe Jackson married a 15-year-old girl in 1908. Now that's not only socially reprehensible, but a felony. Ads for sports betting sites used to be banned; now they are all over MLB broadcasts and stadiums. "Greenies" in the clubhouse... it's a long list. Society changes. The one thing that was and still is socially reprehensible is lying. And Pete Rose did that many times for many years. I wouldn't support him being elected into the Hall of Fame. But if the Reds want to honor what he did for their franchise... whatever. It's easy for us to criticize the Reds if they do so, but many still revere a certain former Brewer who is in the Hall of Fame who admitted to using cocaine as a player. Lots of people have died or had their lives ruined by using cocaine, getting cocaine into the hands of wealthy Americans to make money, or trying to stop cocaine from getting into the hands of the wrong people. I guess, nobody died because Pete Rose lied.

One thing that I haven't seen mentioned here is how the Bucks star players have been injured/not 100% in the post-season the last four years.. And it's been all three - Giannis, Middleton, and now Lillard. It's really hard to win in the playoffs when your star players are struggling just to get on the court..

No mention about the possible effects of inflation, worries over future inflation caused by tariffs, and general future economic uncertainty. Lots of people cutting back on expenditures now due to the uncertainty. Lots of layoffs of federal government employees and federal government contractors. Lots of people pulled forward big expenses (e.g. vehicles, home improvement, electronics, etc.) to try to get ahead of possible tariffs, increasing expenses YTD and thus decreasing discretionary income.

Oh, yes. Depending on what airport you are flying out of or in to there is a buffer of up to 30 minutes. I think O'Hare is 30 minutes. Departure time is also the time you push back from the gate, not wheels-up. That's another reason for the buffer. You could have to taxi for 10 minutes and then be #13 for departure.

That's odd. I've been connecting or flying out of there for 25 years and have never experienced anything like that. Denver's terminals are Terminal A, B, and C. Your boarding pass should say gate A25 or B49 or C36, with the letter indicating the Terminal. About 12 years ago I was flying out of there and noticed that they had put some travel-related quotes on some of the windows. Almost yelled when I saw this one. Haven't checked recently to see if it's still there, and didn't remember where it was, but now that I zoom in on the background I can see the sign at the top of the jet bridge that says B49.

The issue is that there's a fine line between paying a kid for something and bribing a kid to do something. And the human brain, specifically the decision-making part of it, isn't fully developed until about age 25. The younger someone is, the more irrational their decision-making, and the more likely that they'll do things that they wouldn't do if they were older. That's the primary reason why you need to be 18 to buy smokes, 21 to buy booze.

Went to the vehicle this morning to run an errand before work... and when I start the vehicle a low tire pressure warning comes up. Back right tire down to 20 psi. Sure enough, I see a nail/screw of some type sticking out. And sure enough, it's along the edge of the tire, too close to the sidewall to patch. The silver lining - just last week I got an oil change and the shop said that my tires will need to be replaced soon. Down to about 3-4mm and the sides are worn down. Was hoping to get through the summer and replace in late October before the snow hits. I could try to find a used tire to get me until late fall, but don't think it's worth the hassle to just replace all of them 5 months from now. Tires are damn expensive. But Walmart has some non-advertised/likely Chinese tires that are cheap. Not just cheap, but like $180/tire less than the lowest brand name tires. That's $720 total less... plus 10% sales tax, so more like $800 total less. Total cost with installation for four tires - $600 + tax. Has anyone tried this Summit brand tire before, or a non-name-brand from Walmart? If the difference was like $50/tire, I would go with brand name. But for $800 less... I think worth the risk. $60K tread warranty. Oh yes, AA definitely has the shortest seat pitch. My knees are wedged into the seat in front of me. Have to try to spread my legs as much as I can to the edges of the seat in front of me, no way can I have them straight forward. That being said, AA is a lot cheaper than United in terms of seat upgrades. And you can use miles to upgrade your seat on AA. I haven't been in an airline lounge in close to 20 years, so I can't speak to those. But if you hate O'Hare, then I can only assume you have never had to connect at MSP or flown out of the new terminal in SLC. I've walked over a half mile going from one gate to another in MSP, and good luck finding a halfway decent restaurant along the way. Same with SLC, it's probably over a half-mile walk from check-in to the end of the new terminal and that includes the few people-movers they have. If flying on United, O'Hare is super easy. After going through security you're right in concourse B, and then it's a short walk to the escalator and people movers to get to concourse C. Nothing is a long walk in the United concourses. And if you want some quick food to take on your flight, there's a food court in concourse C with a decent cheap Chinese restaurant. I could leave my place in Chicago ~2:10 before my flight, walk three blocks to the blue line, 40 minute light rail to the airport, 10 minute walk from the blue line stop to security, be through security and get some food with plenty of time to spare.
