  1. The key word is "pencil". It's erasable. You "pencil" him in but have contingency plans in place. 1) Peralta 2) Civale 3) Myers 4) Woodruff (written in pencil) 5-7) Rea/Hall/Ashby Primary Depth: 8) Misiorowski 9) C-Rod In case of emergency: 10) Gasser (if ready) 11) Henderson (have to add him after the 2025 season anyway) 12) Patrick 13) Shane Smith (have to add him after 2025 as well) 14) Hunt 15) Wichrowski Also, the Brewers have until four days after the World Series ends to extend Montas and tear up the option year if they feel like Woody isn't progressing. I would not be surprised at all if they do that. I think Montas knows that he isn't getting $20M (from the Brewers or anyone), but might be open to $20M guaranteed over a two-year extension and he really enjoyed being on the team. Depending on what they think of Henderson, Smith, Hunt, and Wichrowski, they have some young pitching talent to package to pick up an established starter if they need one (but I think they try to extend Montas first).
  2. He absolutely has played his last game as a Brewer. He's not the locker room leader that Adames is which is why they didn't trade Adames. Add that to the baggage from blowing the save at home in the playoffs and he's gone. One year of one of the best relievers in the game plus a likely comp pick will bring back decent value.
  3. It's one season of a great reliever plus a comp pick if he leaves in free agency.
  4. Why? Hopefully not because he gave up a HR in the playoffs to a four-time All Star who's hit 120 HRs over the last 3 seasons.
  5. Exactly how many times has that happened this year? None got tipped last week or the week before. I've seen it maybe once. Jordan Love had balls tipped today; happens to every QB if the DL does their job and gets their hands up. No, one was off of Pauling's hands. It was a well-located ball low and away from the defender where only the receiver could get it and Pauling yipped it. How many college QBs are (who are redshirt sophomores)? Every game I've watched I've seen QBs on other teams make bad throws and bad decisions. Bo Nix and J.J. McCarthy were top 15 picks. Stetson Bennett and Aidan O'Connell were 4th round picks. That tells you how many great QBs there are in college. For his career Locke has 10 TDs to 4 INTs. I can think of a lot of UW QBs with worse numbers than that. He just threw for the 7th most yards in a game ever in the history of Wisconsin Football. So, no, he is not the worst Badgers QB ever.
  6. This aged well
  7. The Brewers are not trading for a player with a career 27% K rate, especially when his K% has been higher than his career average K% each of the last six seasons.
  8. I think Arnold would laugh you off the phone for asking for one of the best pitching prospects in the game for Westburg, nevermind adding one of the best closers and one of the best SS prospects.
  9. No way, Suarez strikes out way too much for the Brewers taste. Best option is for the Brewers to go back to the Orioles. They need to make room for Holliday, leaving Westburg and Urias for one spot. Urias is the cheaper option. He's under control for two more seasons and was a 1 fWAR/1.5 bWAR player in only 300 PA's last year. Struck out less than 20% of the time last season, average walk rate, average defensively. But the Orioles need a closer. Devin Williams headlining a package for Westburg is the best option..
  10. Baltimore needs a closer. Brewers likely need an IF to replace Adames. Williams + Peguero + Black + Lara for Jordan Westburg.
  11. Can we all agree that this form of Wild Card series is complete horse****?
  12. I think you know that there's a big difference between breaking a rule and breaking the law.
  13. The Red Sox had Bucky ******* Dent. The Brewers have Devin ******* Williams.
  14. Mets had the best record in the majors after June 1st. We just saw why.
  15. Cue the trade proposal thread in 3, 2, 1...
  16. And their names are: GARRETT ***** MITCHELL and JACKSON M-***** CHOURIO
  17. I think it's as much about the wild card now being a 3-game series including a division champion diluting the playoffs as much as anything. People are saving their money for the NLDS/NLCS/WS.
  18. Simple: Jackson Chourio Joey Ortiz Tobias Myers Brice Turang
  19. And each team gavel slightly less of a damn than normal.
  20. I don't understand this argument. They moved on from Carlson after one season. Who are they going to find mid-season who is significantly better? What good kicker is unemployed in November? And Carlson's brother is a cautionary tale of moving on too quickly.
  21. Because of the back of the end zone being out of bounds and not having to cover more than 25 total yards of depth, 4th and 15 to get into the end zone is a very low percentage play.
  22. It wasn't blow up from the edges - it was from LG. Brunner appeared to slip and missed his block and that was the player who made the first hit.
