  1. Nembhard and Turner were 11th and 10th and Ben Sheppard 14th on the Pacers in 3-point % during the season (36%) and are shooting over 50% for the playoffs. I wouldn't have game planned around stopping them from beyond the arc.
  2. Solid. Maybe not spectacular, but solid, filled a lot of needs especially where they needed depth. Only one pick I didn't like (and by the end of the 6th I don't really care because only about half of those guys end up making the roster anyway). I said I wouldn't be surprised if they picked three safeties, and they did just that. I said that it was unlikely that they would pick any DL or DE and they didn't. I didn't mock any IOL until day 3 and they did just that. Only surprise was not picking a CB until the 7th.
  3. 284,000 fewer full-time jobs than one year ago. Lots of companies have been mentioning during their earnings calls the last 2-3 weeks that things are slowing. CEO of Bank of America, one of the biggest credit card companies, said that consumer spending is slowing. Shelter, vehicle insurance, and food away from home are the only things that are driving inflation. Shelter takes months to correct because leases are typically for a year. Similar to vehicle insurance, where premiums are locked in for six months. My vehicle insurance is way up from one year ago, but almost the same as 6 months ago.
  4. Yes and no. The NBA is kind of like MLB in that all you need to do is just enough to get into the playoffs. Rest Giannis, Khris, and Lillard as much as feasible on non-nationally televised games and try to pick up some players who were bought out of their contract who think that playing with Giannis/Khris/Lillard give them a shot. Go for the #7 or #6 seed and see what happens. But they should explore a Giannis trade.
  5. I've learned not to go beyond NFL.com, PFF, SI.com, and Packerswire, maybe Bleacher Report if I can't find much on the first four.
  6. Must be a journalist - trying to be the first to get the scoop/post the link at all costs
  7. Interesting that Donovan Jennings got $110K guaranteed as a UDFA. That's equivalent to an early 7th round pick as far as guaranteed money. I think he can be a legitimate contender for a backup OG spot. Given that Newman got performance escalators that bring his salary to $3.2M this year, I think if it's even close they keep Jennings over Newman.
  8. Nixon at CB? Also, given that they traded up for him, I think that Evan Williams is a lock.
  9. Pratt was a late 7th round pick. If someone really wanted him, given the need for QBs league-wide, they would have drafted him. Highly likely they can get him through to the practice squad.
  10. I think it's more about giving at least some type of commentary about what the article is about so that we can make a better informed decision about whether or not we want to take the time to start reading it. I believe there was some discussion along these lines a while back, maybe two-ish years ago, about pasting a link with no commentary and then people complained because they took the time to click and start reading it but then the content wasn't something that they were interested in.
  11. Solid draft. Like all of the picks except for Hopper. Certainly have confidence in who they already have at Edge/DE, DT, CB, and OL.
  12. Going into the draft their safety room was McKinney, a 7th round pick, and three guys who have played 37, 3, and 0 defensive snaps in their career. They needed bodies.
  13. You know how they like to have local musicians play at these things? I can't wait to have an oompah band up on stage playing, "Da Bears Still Suck".
  14. Dammit, I had Evan Williams in but swapped him out for Omar Brown once I saw that they had Brown in for a visit. Had Williams in last year before he decided to transfer to Oregon.
  15. He's going to get a lot of snaps, that's for sure.
  16. Being the Lions. There's a reason they've never been to the Super Bowl.
  17. Not a fan. LOTS of missed tackles. Oren Burks 2.0.
  18. When I was there they bought Blue Point (NY), Devil's Backbone (VA), Four Peaks (AZ), Golden Road (CA), Breckenridge Brewery (CO), 10 Barrel (OR), and Elysian (WA). I believe they sold a couple of them to Tilray in the last year or so. It was an on-premise play - you want a toasted lager, we have Blue Point. You want a Vienna lager, we have Devil's Backbone. You want a Scotch Ale, we have Four Peaks. You want IPAs, we have Elysian and 10 Barrell. Didn't work out for them.
  19. Somebody needs to stuff a great big Milwaukee's finest bratwurst inside of Rich Eisen's mouth. Or five.
  20. Too bad they're owned by Anheuser-Busch (the same ******* who made my life hell in 2016 by pulling the rug out from under me)
