It seems that there are certain "established major leaguers" that get wayyyy more chances than they deserve. Like Julio, or a guy like Adam Eaton for example. Julio has sucked pretty consistenly for about 7 years now. Time to let him go.

Yeah, Paul wasn't even an option because of our point guard situation, but he should have been if you're strictly drafting BPA. The guy dominated as a Sophmore in college in the ACC, and it was very clear he was gonna be a very good pro. I love Bogut, but we still whiffed on that pick. (Not as bad as Atlanta though) Chris Paul is on track to be the best PG of all-time, and we had a chance to take him. Luke Ridnour is currently our starting PG instead of an all-time great.

I just can't see how anyone can justify keeping Redd and Jefferson. Look at what the OKC has done since lucking out and having Durant fall in their lap aka Building block #1. First, they trade Ray Allen AFTER getting Durant. A guy like Hammond, would of course keep Ray with Durant and hope they can squeak in the playoffs for a few years to appease casual fans. Not Sam Presti. Gets the fifth pick and drafts Jeff Green, a good, cheap sixth man who won't start only because he plays the same position as their star. Creates cap room, and basically gets 1st Round Picks for FREE from teams that can't afford them. Teams like the Bucks, but usually if you can't afford your first-round picks you're actually, you know, good, like the Suns. Last year drafts Russell Westbrook, a player who had a good rookie year and has a ton of upside. Building block #2. I believe they have the #3 pick this year, and might have Rubio fall into their lap if Chris Wallace drafts Thabeet. Building black #3. Hammond had the chance to ditch them for expirings, and passed on it for a laughable reason that danzig noted earlier. Who's gonna replace Redd's scoring? Who cares!! Redd could average 35 ppg next year, and we'd still have a 0% shot of winning a title. He's not a first option on a contender. His max contract is hindering the team from filling out a decent bench and roster. We're gonna lose CV for sure, everyday it's looking more like Sessions as well, we don't have enough money to bring over Ilyasova, a guy who has really improved and actually LIKES Milwaukee. The man gave Francisco Elson and Malik Allen player options. MALIK FREAKIN' ALLEN. I was happy when we got Hammond, instead of the rumored Donnie Walsh, but wow was I wrong. Walsh has already cleared out most Isiah's mistakes, and is poised to sign a really good player, or two, next summer.

I was thinking the same thing with the Gamel and Weeks comparison as well, patrickgpe. Both weren't/aren't major league ready on D, but had major league ready bats. Both play the game "the right way". It's always kind of overlooked, but Weeks was one of, if not the best hitter on that team in 2005 until he injured his thumb (and in a remarkably stupid decision, the team had him play through it.) Of course, this 2009 team is light years better than that 05 one, but I still would expect Mat to probably be our 4th best hitter (behind Braun, Fielder, Hardy) going forward.

I think the guy is absolutely insane, but that is awesome.

I've yet to see Corey Hart make ONE good throw to home. Hell, Braun has had several since he's been out there. What a miserable player he is right now. Edit: Nice signature JCREW!!

I kind of agree with both sides here. Triples are very luck-based, as I'm sure a guy like Carlos Lee "allows" more triples than your average left fielder. But I also don't think it's that far-fetched that Bill Hall has cost himself a base or two several times the past couple of years. His bad habit of watching balls that are NOWHERE close to leaving the ballpark is pretty well documented.

Doesn't this mean Julio will be DFA'd? Gerut takes Hurricane's place, and Swindle takes over for Julio.

Catalanotto had to go to extended ST, and he had basically a full spring with Texas. Durham hasn't had an AB since last September, so I'm assuming he's probably AT LEAST several weeks away from being able to face major league pitching. Also, Durham had trouble getting through a full 9 late in the year. He's a whole different kind of "injury prone". As others have said, Roberts signed a 4 year extension over the winter. How does that make sense for either team?

What really ticks me off is that we've already seen this isn't a 4-6 month injury, it's a 12 month. It took Rickie a full calendar year to recover from the last one. Just disgusting.

After seeing the pics of Cameron with the Mets and hearing about his "untuckin" with the Mariners, I think it's safe to say that the Cardinals are a team just trying to find something to complain about, and probably know they're outclassed talent wise. Nothing more, nothing less.

Gameday had the first two pitches to Robinson pretty much splitting the plate in half. It can be inaccurate, but usually when its on the corners.

I really agree with you here. I think if you just gave it back without negotiating, this would be about what you could expect. I also wouldn't be surprised if they expected you to just give it back and not expect anything in return. I don't think they'd give you something really cool just for being a nice guy. It works both ways; a lot of people are very greedy and think the world revolves around them.
