  1. Parra is so frustrating. What an awful pitch.
  2. Ughh. I don't mind the off days that much, but why is Kapler hitting 3rd?
  3. Seth doing his best Ben Sheets impersonation tonight.
  4. McClung is pounding the strike zone. Who would of thunk it?
  5. This might be one of those trades that actually improves both teams. If I was Arizona, I'd want to do this trade at this year's deadline. It would have to make them World Series favorites. Milwaukee probably wouldn't be crazy about doing it this year, as they would be waving the white flag early, but they'd have to consider it. You'd probably have to replace Tracy with Jackson, as I can't see where he'd fit in with Prince on that team. We could then flip him in the offseason.
  6. I highly doubt Yost would do this. I just can't remember the last time he's took out a position player in a situation like that. Especially a catcher.
  7. I was going to suggest Wolf a week or two ago. I think he makes a lot of sense. Like you said, he wouldn't need to give up a huge package to get him. Maybe a couple high ceiling A ball players. Gord Ash mentioned during the pregame on 620 that the Padres have already said they're ready to sell off players not in their long-term future, which is very rare. Once he was over a year removed from his arm injury, Wolf has K'd about 8.2/9 IP. He would fit in between Suppan and Parra very well.
  8. I don't think that Fielder will be traded this off-season. After the 09 season seems like the time to do it. Especially if he continues to have a down year. NYY are going to need a 1B and a DH in the next couple years, so even if they sign Teixera, I still wouldn't count them out for being a destination for Prince.
  9. Why not Pena? I'm hoping for Gagne to the DL. DiFilice looks like he could be a ROOGY.
  10. I have heard his LD% was down multiple times on here. Someone (Ennder?) said there isn't any correlation between LD% and BABIP. Do they just figure LD% from the boxscore in which it says lineout? Anyone know what constitutes a line drive?
  11. What are some logical destinations for Prince? NYY of course. Seattle will be looking for a DH/1B soon with Sexson coming off the books soon.
  12. He's turning into a DH really quick. What I hate is he can't pick a ball to save his life. During Weeks' walk off single against the Cards a couple weeks ago, Hardy threw him the easiest one hop ball and Prince still botched it. He just adds to Weeks' defensive woes at turning the double play.
  13. Weeks. I went thru his at-bats yesterday and figured he should be around a .375 OBP with average luck at this point. I'm guessing he'll finish with something like a .380ish OBP.
  14. Yeah this really bugged me as well. You'd think DiFelice could even get an out before he gave up a five spot.
  15. Last I heard of Haislip was him laying out a European in a brawl during a Euroleague game.
  16. It's nice to face bottom feeder teams for a change. We have still yet to miss a team's ace in a series, outside of the Giants when we missed Cain and Lincecum. You'd think that would somewhat even out by the end of the year. Looks like the best pitcher we will face against the Nats is Tim Redding.
  17. Now that is an excellent plan. I know he stinks at defense, but he's essentially the same player as Steve Nash.
  18. If they don't get 1 or 2, I'd go with Westbrook.
  19. Good point logan. That's why if we could get DePodesta and some of the scouts he had with him in Los Angeles I wouldn't lose a wink of sleep over it.
  20. No, but people are insisting that both are terrible at hitting by choosing periods of AB's where they were not 100%, i.e. the Move Weeks Down in the order thread, even though when 100% healthy, they've been pretty damn good. And for some reason that is to be completely disregarded. Sure, that doesn't make up for how awful they've been so far this year. But when using small(ish) samples, players are wildly inconsistent. If they started out hot and this month and a half lull occured in July and August, it would probably go largely unnoticed, just like JJ's did to the casual fan last year.
