  1. Similar feel to the second inning here. We need a run or two. If we can get within two they will be going to their bullpen early as well
  2. So, who comes in to pitch if you are the Crew? You could keep running Suppan out there but who is our long reliever? Is it McClung?
  3. Rickie doing what a leadoff hitter should. On base twice already
  4. Yeah, I can't see Hart sitting too much. But, we do have nice depth that is for sure. I dont think many of us thought Kapler would make the team and when he did I think most thought it might just be until Cameron returned but he is keeping himself on the team
  5. It didnt make sense to live him in but I will take it. Also it is going to be interesting to see what happens with the outfielders once Cameron's suspension is over.
  6. He has looked great since the first inning really. Gave up three hits that inning and has settled in nicely. Some nice low pitch count innings that last three innings leave him at 72 through five. He was over 40 through two. Nice job getting it together and saving the bullpen.
  7. That looked like he crushed that on Gameday
  8. Hall follows the old Braun approach of make an error than hit a home run.
  9. Nice inning for Sheets there. Not many pitches. Now at 51 through 3 which is a lot but gives more hope for him sticking around later in the game now.
  10. Santana already over 40 pitches. Thats nice to see
  11. Actually i used their overall minor league numbers. You took one season where Weeks had a bad year on the basepaths. Just look at his numbers in the majors. He has stolen 62 bases and been caught 9 times. That is terrific. Crabbe's best minor league season had 34 steals and 11 caught stealing which is good but not near Weeks numbers in the majors. You can use just one down season if you want but the reality is outside of the AA season you chose to focus on for Weeks his numbers are better. Even in that down year the numbers were not too far off. Look at what Weeks has done in AAA compared to Crabbe and you will see they are not that close. In over 220 AB his OBP is over .430. That is crazy. Crabbe's highest outside of rookie ball is .377. That is a huge difference, especially when you add in better power. (pared back long quote --1992)
  12. I dont really know how you can claim Crabbe is better than Weeks. His overall minor league numbers are not better than Weeks. Crabbe - BA .277. OBP. .369 Weeks - BA .289 OBP. 404. Other than those stats Weeks hit for power, and was a much more efficient base stealer. Crabbe really only had him beat in not striking out, which is something I would love for Weeks to cut down. But the reality is you say Crabbe's OBP is better and that is just not true. Rickie's OBP in the Milwaukee last year was only .03 points lower than Crabbe's in AAA. So Crabbe has defense and strikeouts and Weeks has the rest. In my mind they are not that close in terms to players and especially in terms of potential. They are nearly the same age, Weeks is about 4 months older, and what they have done up until now makes Weeks a much better prospect and he is a better currently.
  13. On another positive note Wood blows a save against Pittsburg.
  14. Ya, I think my favorite part of watching Sheets is how quick he pitches (and the fact that he can be down right dominate helps). I also agree as well with rluz about still being bitter with people who say or said he isnt a winner. That is crazy to me. My favorite part of Sheets as a player is that he just seems to have fun. His interviews are great, and he seems pretty laid back. I would love to see him stay in Milwaukee. Sheets, Yo, Parra, and Villy could be down right sick for the next couple years. Obviously other threads have talked about all the other people who need to be locked up but in a perfect world it would nice to keep him. My favorite moment(s) is whenever he talks about himself as a hitter. I saw him on Cold Pizza (bad show) and he spent most of the time talking about himself as a hitter. It was hilarious
  15. That Huntsville lineup looks like a nice AAA lineup. Thats just nasty for AA. Nashville fans should be pretty excited.
  16. I think it is the money it is going to cost to sign him with a lot of young guys whose contracts will be coming up that we will want to sign.
  17. I love the oddity of early season stats. Kapler has as many homeruns as Weeks, Braun, Fielder, Hart and Hardy combined Not true any more. But he does have more than weeks, Fielder, Hart and Hardy combined
  18. It seems to me Riske is in the there as well. It looks like we have 3 guys for the 7 and 8 inning. Mota, Torres and Riske with Turnbow probably behind all three at least with how Yost has used the bullpen so far. Obviously there have only been a handful of games but has Turnbow been put in a close game that we were ahead in? I am all for trading Turnbow and he will have value unlike McClung
  19. I think a one pitch inning means he might be okay for another
  20. Parra is pitching great but that 79 pitches means even if he continues to pitch great he wont finish this thing
  21. thanks for the heads up on the gameday feature
  22. That at bat shows why I think Gross needs more playing time. Good patience and some pop
