  1. I was at the game the Jomboy took a header. We had no idea what was going on, nor did we know who was racing.
  2. Lyle Overbeek?
  3. ... and in a few weeks when he gets 4 hits for the week, the "Yelich is washed up" banter will begin. I am so glad the season is 162 games. 👍
  4. Oh no. My son had a similar thing happen on his non-throwing shoulder. He had labrum surgery (IIRC, that is what Mitchell had) in high school, then his freshman year in college, he was reaching for a line drive and tore it again. Another surgery was needed 😢
  5. So far, so good. Mighty Mouse is here to save the day. One thing that so many people seem to miss is how a smaller player can contribute. Sal, Joey, and Caleb do not need to hit dingers to be valuable to the team. Would it be nice if they would? Sure, but they don't have to. As we have seen recently, they are getting the ball in play and not striking out. Their barrel % is probably not as high, but if they are getting on base, they are putting pressure on the pitcher.
  6. The Stanley Cup finals are so much more exciting to watch than the NBA Finals...
  7. Lux played for RJ at hitters. That gives him at least another 100 points to his wRC+.
  8. ... and remember, top-notched pitching labs are a dime a dozen.
  9. I'm wondering how he is going to see the field. You can't sit Hoskins. You aren't going to take Yelich out of the DH spot. What happens to Bauers? I'm confused... and the Pope is Ca... I mean he is a White Sox fan...
  10. So, Mel Brooks will be 100 years old when this comes out. He is 98 now. 100... years... old. He is not allowed to die. Yeah... that's the ticket.
  11. I'm going to add a "+1" to this. The fact that you have been successful before the merger proves that you know what you are doing. So from that standpoint, don't get down on yourself. That shows me that you have good person-to-person skills. If you would have sold ice to an eskimo, then you would be over the top... 😉 The Broker Dealer (BD) space is going through a lot of changes. Cetera has bought a lot of companies. LPL is always buying companies. Heck, there are even a flurry of acquisitions happening at the fringe insurance business such as COLI and BOLI. I know it doesn't help, but I know you are not alone. Not sure if you could reach out to a BD to see if you could join an existing team. Having a young family might restrict you from going completely independent (start a new firm and then say, "Hey, Ameriprise... wanna buy my assets?). Pharma might be a great start. Abbott and Lilly are two companies that have been a good place for my brother in law. AI is a big deal -- I don't know if that would be something you could get into without more of a technical degree. I forgot about Boston Scientific -- they might be a place to look at, too. Thinks will work out for you. Hang in there...
  12. 6 would have been on the high side. His last two years before getting hurt were 2.1 and 3.0 (best single year). The -0.2 last year was horrid. If he can finish the year at 3 or better, it will not be the best trade, but will be ok (just ok, though). I'm expecting a 2, though.
  13. As much as I would love to see him in a Brewers uniform, @TURBO is exactly right. I would rather see the "Starting 6" or "Starting 8" where there are a lot of options as opposed to having one good starter and a few mediocre starters. The D'Backs might agree... 😉
  14. No doubt. Although Haliburton is a... um... easy person to dislike, he is clutch at the end of games.
  15. While I don't think they should sell, this scene comes into my head every time I read this thread:
  16. I preface this by saying if somebody posted this, I couldn't find it... Sorry if somebody else did. I wasn't aware of the Diggin' Deep podcast. Murph was on a few days ago. Moustakas was also on the podcast. Very interesting. It is long, but well worth it.
  17. Doesn't having a 8+ starting pitchers on the 40-man roster mean that the younger guys have to have a lot of options left? My hope is that we get the young guys to push 7 innings by filling the zone and having a good whiff rate. That would be cool.
  18. Both he and Koenig lead the majors in appearances. Uribe also missed some time due to suspension. I hope his arm doesn't fall off (i.e. he gets hurt from overuse).
  19. If the Brewers are within a handful of games close to the trade deadline, I could see them trade for Bichette with they Jays. He would only be a rental, though. He would certainly be an upgrade to Ortiz. I would hate to give up too much since Made and Pratt are a year or two from coming up and contributing. They could play this year, but they are probably not ready for prime time, yet. This would be sort of going all in, but not really going all in. The rental part is probably a show stopper.
  20. I wonder what his JUMP+ number is. You know... adjusted by ballpark 😉
  21. Let's be careful. A few weeks ago, the sky was falling. We were overpaying with trades for other pitchers and people were calling for the Brewers to sell now. I agree -- the staff looks very deep. This is very good because it gives the Brewers options if there are injuries and also trade chips at the trade deadline to fill holes. My only concern is if there are 8-10 guys, how do they keep the players "happy" who could start but aren't.
