  1. Thursday, but Standing Room Only. I won't complain though.
  2. That's why the people that still boo him are annoying on two fronts: He ended up getting more than double what Melvin offered him so I'm not going to blame him for that, and he did the Brewers a favor by opening up space for the young OFers. Why would Brewers fans not like that deal?
  3. If the Brewers take over sole possesion today this thread might as well be locked http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif. By the way that's a cool site zzz, apparently the Brewers now have a better chance than the Cubs of making the postseason, at least according to them.
  4. Mets are winning 2-0 in the 5th inning, maybe the bullpen won't blow it for Johan today.
  5. I know a lot of hitting with RISP is luck and it'll fluctuate, but it is frustrating when they're not getting too many hits in that situaton. It looks like Wolf has been shelled his last 3 starts away from Petco, hopefully that'll continue and Suppan can give another solid start like in St. Louis. All I'm asking for is a tie going into the Cubs series, but a 1 game lead would be okay too http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  6. August 8th, I only know that cause of the whole "08-08-08" advertisements. I'm a bigger fan of the Winter Olympics too, but the Summer ones have some cool events. It was sweet last time when Michael Phelps owned everyone in all those different races, and that 18 year old Czech kid beat Federer.
  7. Looks like TLR has used all of his position players and 7 pitchers so far, who would've thought?!
  8. Cubs fans must hate the Marlins. I'm not positive, but I think Florida's won 11 of 12 against them, plus throw in the 2003 NLCS http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif.
  9. Rich Harden still doesn't know how to win http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  10. Andino FTL.
  11. Wow that's insane, I think they were like 8-0 when I went until Suppan got shelled by the Orioles, and they've won every one since then. You can go tonight if you want cause I'll be there too and I'm 10-1 http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  12. Hermida another homer today, tied at 1 in the top of the 3rd.
  13. Remember when Bush had trouble throwing strikes his first few starts? Eight walks in his last 65 innings, that's pretty incredible.
  14. Wow, Santana is tearing up his A+ league. Was he highly touted/a high draft pick for L.A?
  15. I can't believe how dumb the third base coach was there. Houston's aggressiveness in general would annoy the heck out of me as a fan after seeing them get thrown out 3 times by Kendall last time in Milwaukee.
  16. 4-3 would be a success, 5+ would be great.
  17. Thanks for posting that crewcrazy. I don't know why but when I saw it live and even the first replay I thought it was about two rows up, at least I know it was much further now. I still wish he hadn't taken 6 steps before he started to jog, but oh well. I'm sure he didn't have any intentions of showing up Ryan Franklin or the Cardinals, but when players do that it's probably not exactly "respecting" the other team.
  18. Just because they may be better than a lot of other team's announcers doesn't have to mean they're good. I know they mainly need to appeal to the "casual" fan, but a lot of times both Brian and Bill come off as kind of dumb. Did you ever notice whenever a reliever comes in, Bill is basing whether he's good or bad by his record and ERA? That's fine if you mention the numbers, but don't say "Well he's 5-2 with a 3.5 ERA so he's having a pretty good year" when opponents are hitting .300 and he walks a ton of guys. Bill also said that a good WHIP is "Somewhere between 1 and 1.5" once. He might as well say "a good batting average is somewhere between .240 and .350"
  19. And it's not like he was at a managable number thru 6 innings, I believe he had about 108-110 after 6 and Lou sent him back out, with a four run lead. I certainly won't wish for him to get injured again, but if he does I won't exactly feel bad for him and Pinella.
  20. They were booing loudly after the game ended. I suppose it could've been directed at the umpire, as Wellemeyer/Glaus/Ludwick all showed displeasure throughout the night. Then again, the guy was pretty bad to both teams. on 1st and 10 they debated whether or not the Brewers were the best team in the National League Was that the one that Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless were on? I know Bayless is probably there to be "controversial" (an idiot), but he called CC "CC Gasol" cause the Brewers ripped off Cleveland like the Lakers to the Grizzlies. "They gave him up for only what, the second best player in AA?!" He then commented that they traded for Ray Durham because they were tired of Bill Hall's production.
  21. This isn't directed toward you, but this is why I think the whole "retaliation" beaning is so dumb. If they hit Braun, fine, let it go. Otherwise I can see us throwing at Pujols, people potentionally getting tossed/suspended. Totally not worth, too bad Yost didn't know that last year.
  22. Yeah, I've got to say his strike zone was pretty bad. It's one thing to have a big zone, but he wasn't very consistent either.
  23. That's fine, but if Aramis Ramirez hits a go ahead homer at Miller Park on the final day to win the Central and stares for 5 seconds, I hope none of you complain. With that being said I'll gladly take Braun being awesome and cocky than sucking/not cocky.
  24. To be fair, Manny Ramirez is a HOFer and Aramis has a much more established career than Braun so far. I'd fully expect a fastball to the ribs next time up against the Cards. With that being said, to quote George Costanza: "I'm speechless. I am without speech." It's going to be so disappointing when they actually lose a game.
  25. I wish I could convince some of my friends to read this site. I'd bet 90%+ of the people here know more about baseball than I do, yet I feel like Bill James around them. A couple of them asked what OPS was, and after I told them one of them said: "So it's basically pointless then?" "No... it's a better indicator than batting average for a hitter." "That's dumb, then they'd show that on TV and stuff if it was." One of my friends also tried to argue last year that Carlos Villanueva was doing poorly as a reliever because he had a lot of decisions...
