  1. Looks nice, I am guessing the obstructed view seats will be real cheap and a character thing vs. poor planning.
  2. I use to drink at least 6 or 7 a day during the week and if I was home doing stuff around the house I would guess I would have closer to 10. If I didn't have any before 10 am I would have headaches the rest of the day. In February I decided to stop drinking it cold turkey. The first week was a b**ch, the 2nd week not quite as bad and finally the headaches were gone. I would occassionally have a diet coke but until about August I stayed away from the Dew. Now I may have one in the morning to wake myself up since I don't drink coffee but I don't have more than 2 a day and most days its just one.
  3. I am in Chicago too and had DirecTV for 6 years until I moved into my wife's place and didn't want to rip open the basement ceiling to run the wiring through the house since we don't plan to stay there more than a few years. But in 6 years I don't think I ever had an issue with the service with DirecTV. Comcast on the other hand is a different story. I've been on the phone with them a handful of times in just the past year. As for the Brewer games down here, you need MLB package with either. And I assume it is still the same way but FSNorth on DirecTV's sports package is MN and there is nothing about any of the Wisconsin teams. The Wisc. games are on an alternate channel but are blacked out unless you have the league's package. Had the sports pack for a bit but never really watched anything on it. Mostly the same shows on half the different FSN's at any one time anyway.
  4. I also recall someone posting last offseason that the contract with Friday's was going to be up after the 2009 season and that change was likely there for 2010.
  5. Greatest week in my life. Was at both the last 2 regular season games and didnt want to go home Sunday night. The ushers basically herded me out. Playoff baseball for the first time since I was 9. Married on Saturday and at game 4 with my lovely wife on Sunday having won the lottery for the LDS. Then off to Hawaii early Monday morning for 2 weeks of sun and relaxation. I saw the thread title and thought someone was wishing me an happy anniversary http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  6. I've been thinking Macha will be done at the end of the year. Any reason Cooper wouldn't be considered in Milwaukee if that were to happen? I've don't follow the Astros that closely but didn't think Cooper did horrible there.
  7. I was at the game too and I agree with this. Cubs fans were pretty decent. I expected it to be alot worse but they kept to themselves. I think the Cubs fan get a bad rap by the drunken frat boys that they attract.
  8. On Brewers.com last week in a chat with Davy Nelson he was asked a similar question which he replied to with - That's funny, I spoke with Ben a couple of days ago and I asked him the same question. He said he leaves it open and it is up to the Brewers. He would love to come back to play for Milwaukee if they would want to sign him. Ben said he is continuing to rehab his injury and continuing to work on getting his arm back to full health.
  9. Per the intro the grades haven't been updated just the notes. "This is a REVIEW of the old list. I'm not doing new grades or lists until I start working on the 2010 book."
  10. Just to clarify Jones' situation for next year. He becomes a minor league free agent if not added to the 40 man roster, correct? If he is added to the 40 man roster I would assume he is considered signed for the major league minimum for 2010. But has he used all 3 of his option years earlier in his career and thus would need to make the 25 man roster out of spring training or be subject to a waiver claim. Also if he agrees to a minor league contract with the Brewers at the end of the season would he still be subject to being selected in the Rule 5 draft? Thanks guys!
  11. Will it increase his trade value to delay FA by a year. I think it's a given he will be traded this offseason for pitching. With Escobar ready to replace him and the need for pitching its a no brainer. A former all-star that is still fairly young. Some team will want to take a chance his batting will come back around. So having him for 2 years vs just a year has to increase his value. You don't want to upset a player like that but knowing you are going to trade him anyway, does Melvin care? Guess we will find out early next week.
  12. I like that one of our own is servicing as the pitching coach as well to take care of these arms.
  13. Donation sent, can I claim this on my taxes next year? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif And thanks for all the hard work everyone.
  14. If you only have time for one I would recommend the Wild Animal Park which is pretty big in itself. I think we spent almost a full day there from whenever they opened to about 3 but its cool to see the animals with so much room. It's maybe 45 min. outside of San Diego but there are a few wineries on route for the trip home (if you like that type of thing). Also LaJolla is pretty cool, the beach there has a couple hundred seals that sun themselves daily.
  15. I would also recommend a tour of Fenway. I did it a few years ago before a Sunday day game and it goes into the club level, press room and finished up on the green monster seats. My tour was the last of the day but I guess the earlier ones also went down on field to check out the scoreboard too. And as others have said the Freedom Trail is outstanding.
  16. I agree with the above. Plus, they have to figure after McGehee's performance vs. his old team over the weekend that Soup and Loop will toss back to back shutouts vs. the Cards.
  17. Maybe the reason he declined the managerial job...oh wait, nevermind.
  18. The Botanic Garden is pretty cool, went their with the wife a couple years ago. I got bored of the flowers sooner than her but they have some nice shrubs and bushes and a large prairie area that is pretty cool. If its a nice day it a good place to be outside and enjoy summer. As for deep dish pizza - I would say Lou's is #1 and I am also a fan of Rosati's but that may be more of a suburban takeout/delivery thing. Don't recall ever seeing a sitdown Rosati's. Also Wicked closed in January so you are out of luck there.
  19. Does it really count as a 5-pager if the 5th page is just pointing out the # of pages? But I agree there is alot of information that makes following the minors nice and easy. Thanks guys!
  20. Good research ESPN - "So they filmed the movie (Major League) in Buffalo?" Bob looked at him like you idiot.
  21. I agree with the comments above about the red line to/from US Cellular. Your hotel is probably no more than 5 blocks from the closest red line stop and it takes you right to the ballpark. There is enough parking nearby if you want to drive and the lots owned by the Sox are safe just expensive. I work in a building connected to the Hyatt, there are plenty of good restaurants around. If you want some recommendations for a place for the anniversary dinner, let me know what types of food you like and I will give you some ideas.
  22. For all IT experts. It looks like my hard drive just crashed on my desktop that is about 6 years old. I get a warning message to back up data and when I hit to continue the computer just goes blank and doesn't boot. What are my options for reovery of the data on the computer and the chances of it being accomplished?
  23. 4 @ FLA (2-2) 3 @ATL (2-1) 3 vs COL (3-0) 3 vs CWS (2-1) 3 @ CLE (2-1) 3 @ DET (1-2) 3 vs MIN (2-1) 3 vs SF (3-0) 3 vs NYM (2-1) 19 wins 9 losses Braun 8 HR's Fielder 9 HR's Cameron 5 HR's Total = 22 HR's
  24. Okay, so a little bit off topic but when is it okay to dig the Sheets jersey back out of the closet for a Miller Park appearance. Is the waiting period a year, 2 years, until he retires?
