    great start...not how do you get a delay of game on a FG attempt in that spot?? On the heels of the backup LT putting that attempt over 50 yds with a false start penalty, no less...

    I will say it's gotten to the point where tackles are obviously getting a half second half start in their pass pro drops before the ball is snapped.

    Starting LT, RB, and #1 WR out for week 2, on the road. This will be tough sledding no matter what, hoping for any sort of a way to get a win, and defensive front needs to show up in a big way this afternoon!

    Honestly, if this is his intention, sitting out games that are on field turf, the Packers may as well look to trade Bakh before the deadline this season. It's frustrating enough for Packer skill position players to constantly have hamstring issues that wind up costing chunks of the season, but if it's gotten to the point where Bakh won't play on turf because of risk of reinjuring that knee I don't care how good he looks when playing sporadically - he's not reliable enough to be this team's starting left tackle, and he's likely as good as gone after this season anyway due to his 2024 cap # compared to what his dead cap # would be. Just a shame that the Packers got so little production out of him following that contract extension. And I'd add that even if Bakh sitting out today is due to a knee injury management issue and not just his preference of not playing on field turf - they just played a game on arguably the softest/slowest grass surface in the entire league at Soldier field in early September on perfect weather day - if Bakh can't go back to back weeks with 6 days' rest in between Sundays at the start of the season, then he truly is damaged goods and can't be relied on for any given game.

    The Brewers don't own the stadium or the land it sits on - so like it or not the current arrangement has to be a public/private partnership. if people want to get government out of ballpark financing in this instance, sell the land and park to the team for $1 and tell them theyre 100 % on the hook for any improvements along with property taxes and call it a day. The state would never do that, so its kind of foolish to expect a tenant to heavily finance renovations on something they don't own.

    Mr. Steele is now 40 IP over his previous high for a season. For a pre-arby starter in what is his 2nd full MLB season, that wouldn't be outside the norm...part of his maturation/development to take on that kind of increased workload. Then you see he's the same age as Corbin Burnes (28) 😲 , and wonder when his arm is going to fall off over one of his next 3-4 starts.

    It started with the playoff loss last season to the Giants...they had the mother of all horseshoes most of last season but this year's schedule and the fact they still have a very thin roster at key position groupings is going to make for very tough sledding this year. Some of that is the GM in his second year continuing a much-needed rebuild - but part of that is his own doing with a few poor high draft picks. They've got undrafted FA safeties and a Harrison Smith fossil playing safety over his 1st draft pick that has barely seen the field due to a poor 2022 start/broken leg/even worse 2023 training camp (Cine), and Ingram (2nd round 2022 draft) is probably their weakest starting OL. Their defensive scheme after two weeks seems like they know they have to blitz constantly to generate pressure (its either sending 5+ or faking a zero blitz and dropping 8 back into coverage on 3rd and long situations), and they hope the quarterback isn't good enough to gouge them. And not being able to stop the run when teams actually dedicate to it is going to lead to some bad time of possession team stats, because their offense is terrible at running the ball so far.

    Darrisaw is a damn good LT...when he's healthy enough to be on the field - however that is becoming an issue for the young man.

    Your garbage time production call proved very correct....although there's also some thursday night craziness going on, too. I don't think the Vikings can run the ball even against bad run defenses, so assuming Kirk doesn't get knocked out by blindside rusher through that sieve of an Oline, he's going to put up huge passing #s

    Definite no on Cousins tomorrow night in Philly...Vikings in general have a brutal recent history there, and their Oline is not going to give their QB much time to do anything of significant fantasy value. I think it'd be a coinflip as to Mayfield or Jones putting up more fantasy points, but the Dolphins got abused in the run game last week so I'd probably lean towards Mayfield at home against what appears to be a pretty awful Bears team.

    This is all well and good and could obviously be done - but having to start that type of restructuring charade game even before exploring longterm extensions to some of their marquee young players on rookie deals is a tough way to maintain a quality NFL roster, particularly with a big longterm question at QB that's also going to pose a significant dead cap hit at some point in the next few seasons when Rodgers does formally retire or get cut. Those are the type of moves that get done when you've got a QB in his prime on a longterm deal secured for 4-5+ more seasons to maintain roster continuity - not on the heels of a 40 yr old QB recovering from a ruptured Achilles carrying a huge contract with him.

    As a Packer fan living in the MPLS area, I'm very much looking forward to watching the Vikings play on the road in Philly tomorrow night against that front 7....their O-line got exposed at home pretty significantly by a good Buccaneer front 7, but I think this could be one of those race to the QB type evenings and come Friday morning that 13-4 2022 record that included an unfathomable 11-0 record in 1 score games is going to look like ancient history.

    This also goes back to the end of the McCarthy era in Green Bay - when they insisted on playing with a sugar huddle-type tempo and keep the same offensive personnel on the field at all times and became incredibly predictable with their route trees and formations, likely because Rodgers fell in love with hunting for free plays when defenders were trying to substitute. McCarthy's strength as a playcaller early on (including the year the Packers won the super bowl) was putting a ton on film and having all sorts of personnel groupings/formations. Once Rodgers got to the level of veteran QB status who knew what all defenses were doing, he very likely handcuffed offensive creativity in effort to be the smartest guy on the field - and once their offensive personnel around him couldn't remain elite due to age or contract limitations of the roster they weren't good enough to make plays in the absence of game planning creativity. Instead it just turned into Rodgers waiting for plays to break down and try playing sandlot football all too often.

    I feel like Clark historically has been a slow starter in terms of onfield splash plays during the season, and as the season wears on he starts showing up more frequently. He can still dominate 1 on 1 blocks, but he's also 27 and been in the league 8 seasons already - that's a good amount of wear and tear on an interior DL at any age.

    The Jets defense played well last night and is very good indeed - but they actually forced zero of the 4 turnovers Allen was responsible for. DBs made good catches on balls thrown to them, sure - but had Allen not made three terrible throws into coverage that had zero chance of being completed or simply caught a shotgun snap, Buffalo probably scores at least 6 more points by default and the Jets wouldn't have received short fields that really helped account for 10 of their 16 points in regulation. Had Allen not played horrible and mistake-prone football, Buffalo wins that game by 10 even if they aren't that good. The Jets will really need to lean on their good defense again this year - if that unit remains near totally healthy like it did last season when they played against a last place schedule to the tune of a 7-10 record, then yeah they could probably stumble up the standings to finish near 0.500. I'm not buying it at this point, though.

    But Wilson does lose the ball consistently. They've got Dallas, KC, Philly, and Chargers mixed in with New England, Denver, and the Giants over their next 7 games...will their defense find a way to win a couple of those games over the next 2 months? Probably, but I doubt all of those quarterbacks lay an egg the way Josh Allen did last night and gift the team 4 turnovers to give the Jets a shot to win a game with a punt return in Overtime.

    Yeah, for all the roses thrown Rodgers' way to restructure his deal in effort to get other players into the mix this season, it's the same story Packer fans have grown accustomed to for future seasons with extending present cap problems into the future. This is a complete and total disaster for the Jets in terms of longterm strength of their roster.

    With their schedule I thought the Jets would be fortunate to win 9-11 games with a healthy Rodgers and their really good defense. Without him they're not finishing over 0.500 despite Buffalo laying an egg and gifting them a win in Week 1. I can easily see them being 1-7 or 2-6 by the time mid-November rolls around.

    I think they have to stick with Wilson for now, and if he craters the team over the next few weeks then you try bringing in a veteran street FA (Matt Ryan, Cam Newton, perhaps?), or trade for a backup from somewhere else at the deadline that might have some longterm upside for the organization...Trey Lance?

    Agreed...but he'd have basically a full calendar year, and he would probably know by the end of this season if playing next September could happen or not. It's not like he blew it out in mid-november If he played any other position than qb, I'd say he's absolutely done. But an Achilles on his non-plant leg? I could see him returning next fall (or at least giving rehab a go long enough to determine if it's realistic or not)

    Saleh all but confirmed a ruptured Achilles in his postgame presser...so that probably puts the snap tracker stuff to bed, because Rodgers' season is done before it really even started. 2nd round pick in next year's draft it is then, right? Given his age, I'd imagine the start of 2024 season would actually be an optimistic timeline for Rodgers to be back on the field - and even if that happens I'd imagine his mobility will be dramatically diminished.

    By the look of it, the Bills ain't all that either this season...Allen played awful against a good but not that kinda good Jets D, but holy cow that is a painful loss for Buffalo. Allen made some terrible throws into coverage to keep the game close in the 2nd half, then Wilson made a great catch in the end zone. I think all 4 of Allen's turnovers (3INTs and 1 fumbled snap) had nothing to do with the defense forcing them. Guessing results of further testing (which has probably already been done and the Jets know it internally), is going to be a sucker punch for Jets fans tomorrow morning after hearing the initial word that xrays were negative (for a broken ankle). Watching the replay, there's no ankle roll associated with a sprain/dislocation, but it definitely looks like a tendon (Achilles or other) gave way on that left leg. Saw a post from Bakhtiari blaming the NFL for another player injured on artificial turf...I get that it's his best buddy, but that type of injury happens on all kinds of playing surfaces with a near 40 yr old getting that kind of weight applied to a leg he's trying to push away from a defender at just the wrong time.

    Sounds like x-rays were negative, but him walking around the locker room in a boot to me indicates one of those high ankle varieties or a significant low ankle ligament-stretcher/dislocation that's got him out a month+.

    In looking at the first 11 weeks of their schedule, if Rodgers is out for any length of time it's going to be a very, very high 2nd round pick. With a healthy Rodgers playing well, I thought the Jets were around a 0.500 football team this season based on their tough schedule - without him (especially early), heads are going to roll in Jets-land. Either way, it's refreshing watching the drama unfold for a team in green and white instead of green and gold
