  1. I'd just been about to post that Jason Kendall's offensive production for the week was probably used up last night. That'll show me.
  2. I was awake for the whole game, but the Kendall HR apparently was so life altering that our DSL went out...so I couldn't comment further. Being the road team in an extra innings game is rarely advantageous, so my hopes weren't high. It was weird to actually feel semi-confident in Claudio Vargas, though. It did occur to me that last night's game was perhaps the Rockies' equivalent of one of our thrilling walkoff wins during the last homestand of 2008. Way to make the Rockies' highlight reel, David Weathers. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/indifferent.gif
  3. Seriously...that's awesome. I've been half listening while transferring files from old computer to new, but Jason just made it worthwhile.
  4. And Ryan inches closer to 200 hits. Come on, Casey.
  5. I like the idea of the phrase "Jorge Julio reparations."
  6. It's been a year now, and I still marvel at the facts that (1) that crazy regular-season ending homestand turned out the way it did, and (2) I was able to see so much of it in person. I spent a quarter century imagining what it would be like, and reality lived up to my imagination.
  7. If you're nostalgia-minded (and if you've opened this thread, you just might be), here's some more fun: OMG thread "Game 162" thread The IGT from 9/28/2008 is in the WOAH SOLVDD forum.
  8. I have the day off (not because of the anniversary), am rocking my playoff hoodie today and expect to watch a very special Brewers game on DVD this afternoon or evening. September 23-October 5 was possibly the best fortnight ever.
  9. I'd like to add that there was a hilarious (to watch, maybe not to be part of) sausage pileup during the race today. Down went Chorizo. Down went Polish. Italian either also fell or stopped to help, which allowed the Brat to literally run away with the last race title of 2009. The season sausage race results total 85 races: 17 Brat wins 11 Polish 15 Italian 22 Hot Dog 20 Chorizo I expected more than 81 because of the 12 inning game on September 6, but I'm not sure when the other extras happened.
  10. I must be helping you mold him, bensheeps, because he's just like me. Right now is like December 26 was when I was a kid. Oh, and while that photo didn't turn out, I'm hoping the secret one I snapped while your son was moving it, moving it will turn out better. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  11. I'd be mildly happy for Jim Powell, but otherwise meh. "Meh" is how I suspect I'm going to feel about most if not all of the 2009 postseason, though.
  12. Just to touch back on the attendance issue, the 2009 home attendance total is 3037451, an average of 37499.
  13. The S.O. got a concessions voucher and I got a free April loge ticket. I saw someone nearby (not Robin19's SO) with a lineup card and wondered if that was one of the memorabilia choices - though it sounds like it wasn't really a 'choice.' At least 6/24/08 was in the 'wild card season' and the game was a win over Atlanta (per my media guide) - those are positives I'd take from winning that card. And yeah, Branyan. For today, I'll give the Brewers credit for making a game of it, eventually. Given their overall woes and just-under-.500 home record in 2009, I am not going to complain about seeing 18 wins vs. 12 losses. 12 happens to be the number of losses we saw in 2008. I'm already ready for April 2010. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  14. The end of the home season, hawing said with a sigh. The Journal Sentinel says there will be a surprise for fans attending today, which sounds more fan-appreciation-esque than a brewerfan-esque surprise, like a Gamel appearance. No lineups as of 10:30, so I hope someone posts them later. Here's hoping for a happy home ending.
  15. Season attendance as of Saturday night was 3,000,254. I'd like to think I was the three millionth fan through the turnstiles, but that person probably entered after the game started.
  16. Here on the hotel TV, I finally saw Jen Lada doing the sports on Fox 6. It looks like she justifies the bf.net hype.
  17. Actually, while on the concourse mid-game, I noticed that Coshun was in the booth with Mark A and Rock. But yeah, the sound either wasn't on or wasn't audible. Coshun didn't suck when he was doing the channel 15 sports in Madison back in the day. That was last century, though.
  18. Amen to that. I don't want anyone to see me walking out of the park tomorrow, probably getting verklempt because it's the last game for six months-plus.But tonight, that was cool. Ryan looked relieved as he rounded the bases. What I enjoyed about the 9th inning was the confident feeling I had that the Brewers would prevail, and very possibly on a walkoff. It was just a matter of who would come through. I'll give sgtcluels props for calling the two Looper-served home runs, but heck if I know how the Brewers so often have managed to overcome them. Also - tonight was the second consecutive Fan Appreciation Night which ended with a Ryan Braun walkoff. That's an interesting special talent to have. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I won't keep bf.net nation in suspense any longer. We were once again robbed of a fabulous prize. Robbed!
  19. I'll start this now to make sure something gets started. Braden, you've set the club record for HRs served up in a season. You can't un-set it, so just relax and pitch. Who knows, you might take the lead in winning decisions. I'll post our Fan Appreciation Night winnings later this evening. Fingers crossed. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  20. May I just add how much I hope they're still handing out MVPRINCE signs at the ballpark the rest of this weekend? I don't know how to take a still image from a video clip, but during the clip of his home run tonight they show a kid hoisting the sign. I want one of those. Edit: that's the one, in trwi7's post below. I'm coveting that sign.
  21. Not if you view it as a silver lining. Anyway, nice that they could even the series. Now if only they could give me a happy off-season memory on Saturday and/or Sunday...
  22. Tonight's the last home game I can chat. Come join the room.
  23. I won't lie, I've enjoyed the first 1.5 innings much more than the matchup "on paper" would suggest. Effective Manny, Cam Boogie...nice. Real nice.
  24. Hey, nice to see some emerging talent in the last couple of IGT starts. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Sweet caroline, Manny's career ERA vs. Philadelphia is 17.05 in three appearances. Here's hoping he can knock that hefty number down a few notches.
  25. You know, I thought I heard one guy chanting Soooouuup after all. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
