  1. Narveson is getting starts. Did anyone else wonder for a moment if Jody Gerut could go deep with the bases loaded again? At least he gave it a ride.
  2. Ah, geez, losing a play at the plate to Paul Bako. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/embarassed.gif
  3. The nicest thing I can think of to say about this game is at least Suppan didn't give up a leadoff jack (like the last time he faced PHI at Miller Park).
  4. I never noticed the copyright statement. That's just weird...or fully appropriate.
  5. I got out of the shower, turned the radio back on, heard this "oooooooooooooooo" noise from the crowd...and instantly sensed that they weren't chanting "Soooouuuuup." http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif I can't say I ever imagined thinking anything along the lines of, "dang, Narveson doesn't pitch this series." Not that you can bank on better results, but can you expect much worse?
  6. I wouldn't know, but I cringed a bit when they were talking about his "assistant."
  7. Nice approach to 3B, Jason. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Just mosh the plate, why don't you? On the up side, it distracted me (and FS Wisconsin) from dwelling on Chef Jerry "yuck" Garcia being in the ballpark.
  8. Almost through the roof - no Counsell. C'mon, fellas, make the last home series a good one.
  9. Yaaaaaay. Figures, this was the one game in the series when we had something else going. But the W is good, and based on the comments here, I'll tip my cap to Chris Narveson. And Chris gets pied during the Telly interview, but keeps his cool. Nice.
  10. I'm trying to shake the notion that this is the "let's throw a guy against the wall and see if he sticks" pitching matchup. Still, all Chris has to do is go 2 innings without completely falling apart, and he's topped Loop and Bush this series. Home team lineup, per JSOnline: 2B Felipe Lopez RF Jody Gerut LF Ryan Braun 1B Prince Fielder 3B Casey McGehee CF Mike Cameron C Jason Kendall SS Alcides Escobar LHP Chris Narveson
  11. Your so smart, casey.
  12. It wouldn't be September 23 if I didn't post the clip from one of my favorite Brewer games of all time: September 23, 1998 Though one could argue that September 23 in Brewers history now has some competition: http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  13. Oh, swell, Ryan gets robbed, fooling Bob and thus fooling me. Not really seeing the point of the "let's go cub-bies" chant with 2 outs in the 9th and a comfortable lead. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/indifferent.gif
  14. Maybe Dave Bush was distracted by thoughts of his newborn son. Bob mentioned in the broadcast tonight that Dave's wife had a baby boy on Friday. That's all I've got.
  15. If you want to see games, I wouldn't go in February. The only reason there were any February games this year is because of the World Baseball Classic. "Which part of March" is a valid question, though.
  16. This tangent should of ended like eight or nine posts ago. Tow the line already!
  17. I suspect that having the alternate version of a bobblehead in a different pose would cost more than just a different uniform. So clever idea, but it doesn't seem likely.Prince holding the trophy would be a nice pose for a HR Derby bobble, if the Brewers decide to do one. Make sure he's wearing the red NL jersey, and offer it during a Cardinals series.
  18. Thanks alot.That's alright.
  19. Yeah, but not an "ESPN Sportscenter lowlights" kind of cancer. I agree with LouisEly. The Brewers do not need his baggage.
  20. With all due respect, I would say good luck getting him to write "09 Wild Card" on anything Brewers-related. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  21. Not really buying that.... what would they do with all the terrace level season ticket holders? Give them free upgrades? Make them pay more for the weeknight tickets? Just exclude those games from terrace level season packages altogether? None of those seem like very plausible solutions.Since we were terrace level season ticket holders at the time (2003, I'm 99% sure), we were curious about what they might do had that come to pass. I remember reading about the possibility in the Journal Sentinel, but never heard any more about it. The Brewers obviously never acted on the idea, but it appears they considered it. I can assure you that at the time, there were not many of us with season packages in the terrace, so maybe the costs of upgrading that portion of the fan base would still have been less than paying terrace level staff. 2003 was the year we got to know a lot of the terrace level employees, I suppose because we were among the few who sat up there often enough for them to notice.
  22. Oh, yeah, poor Josh. The problem I have with that PSA is that one of my colleagues is married to a Josh, and every time I hear the ad, I imagine them being in the crash. "Someone will come. Right?........Josh?"
  23. Sigh, reason number umpty-zillion why I hate the Cubs: nights like this (despite the Brewers' contributions to their fate tonight). I'll be interested to know what the fan atmosphere was like...if any of us went to the game, and post here after.
  24. Yeah, but the seats don't have to be occupied to count toward attendance; the tickets only have to be sold. That's why Cory says "xx,xxx paid to see it" (as did Jim Powell before him). I wasn't surprised by the number of empty seats Sunday, given the Packer game and the Brewers' relative fortunes, but I was surprised that so many tickets went unsold, period.
  25. Ah, PBIB, I'm laughing at the thought of a PSA airing in the Green Bay market imploring listeners to avoid a "pack robbery." http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
