  1. I am bugged by student hourly job applicants who start off saying, "I'd love to come for an interview! I'm free anytime over the next few days!" - then when I suggest a time and date, they say, "oh, except then." Come on, don't say 'anytime' unless you mean it.
  2. Oh, Dave Bush, I've missed you. Please be adequate today; it's a cruddy day at work and I could use a happy distraction. (Edit: I've even missed your obsessive cleaning up of the rubber on the mound between batters, if not pitches.) I admit, I had no idea Justin Lehr was starting for CIN until it was mentioned on last night's radio broadcast that he's starting today.
  3. That guy proves my point. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  4. Bah! No Corkys! (or Corkies) Hey, look, Braden's out of the 6th, and for the moment at least, in line for a quality start.
  5. It doesn't help when grownups named Corky score on our team, either. C'mon, Corky? There was the Murphy Brown character played by Faith Ford, but the name Corky Sherwood-Forest was clearly a joke. http://www.cenlamedia.com/alb/images/newsarticles/faith-ford.jpg In news unrelated to my Corky complaint...whoa, Jody, way to groove it, baby.
  6. Yep, sheethead, that would be nightmarish. Back to this game...Prince, you could be really useful right about now.
  7. Heaven forbid that the Brewers should face a former teammate who has also been a Pirate. Every at-bat would be a career day; every pitch a no-hitter; every fielding opportunity the equivalent of nine unassisted triple plays. May I hope that Braden doesn't break the HR-allowed record tonight?
  8. Oh, I think there would have been some complaining posts; they would simply have been accompanied by others adding, "though, Coffey was out of gas.." When you get that deep into a game, the options tend not to improve.
  9. Sugar River Dairy? That's near where I went to high school...and they do have good yogurt. The Sentry store nearest my house touts its local food and posts signage saying how many miles food traveled to get to Hilldale. We do shop there when our grocery list is too short to justify the time of going to Woodman's.
  10. I enjoyed Monday night's "rally chat," which I'd like to think played some small role in the Brewers' 9th inning comeback. Yes, it would have been even more fun had the Brewers won, but the chat room banter was great.
  11. Well...I appreciate the effort, even if it will result in sleep deprivation for me tomorrow. The effort put forth in the chat room tonight was just stellar. Group hug! And kudos to (I think) stalton for asking if we were going to do rally caps down 1-6 in the 9th.
  12. The chat room has been rather robust the last couple of innings. RALLY CAPS FTT, HOPEFULLY FTW.
  13. Dear Brewers: Please make these costly errors/miscues. Please? Thanks, hawing
  14. But he didn't give up a grand slam! I know they don't play the games on paper, but I don't have a good feeling about sending Soup out on his bobblehead day Sunday. edit: chat room is available; just saying.
  15. We've had a CSA (community supported agriculture) share for almost 10 years now. We split the share with one of my co-workers, so we get a box of organic produce every other week, May through December. It's sometimes a little much for our two person household, but I blanch and freeze a lot of vegetables.
  16. I thought Soup was on an 80 pitch limit. Must not be a firm limit, as he was just at 86 before this batter.
  17. Oh, if you watch local news in Madison, it's a good day if the Brewers get 30 seconds on the local sports...without the anchors saying something sarcastic about them. Just a heads-up. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  18. University Housing cable channel lineup I think you'll be OK, TV-wise at least (channel 26). What dorm are you moving to?
  19. Agreed, seeing the early days of County Stadium and the fan atmosphere that inspired the phrase "an insane asylum with bases" would be cool...maybe until I ran into my grandpa and messed up time a la Back to the Future.
  20. I'll agree, it's doable; but if they don't I'm putting it on your head, Rev, because you said it first. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif But I can't stop being hopeful.
  21. Hoo-rah, series win. I'll take what I can get. Now to see some highlights that won't make me wince! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  22. Welcome to Madison...soon. I am not a MLB.TV user, but Madison is definitely in the blackout zone for Brewers games. If all you have is MLB.TV, you'd be limited to watching games later via the archive. Are you moving to campus? (I realize not everyone who moves to Madison is a student, but this week, the majority of people moving to Madison are.) It's hard to imagine that whatever TV service comes with University Housing would lack FSN. Otherwise there are sports bars which carry the games on at least some TVs.
  23. It was flat-out nice to walk out of work at 5:20 or so, dial up Bob on the Walkman, and hear him talking about other big Home Run Inning jackpot winners. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Then the Brewers' half of the sixth lasted fully half of my 35 minute walk home. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
