  1. OK, good, because I am feeling like a dork with headphones in the library, listening to nothing.
  2. I'm trying to follow on brewers.com and have been looking at the Stay Tuned window for about five minutes. Has it not begun yet?
  3. Terrace would make sense. Next time you go to a game, ask at the terrace level Guest Relations booth. Damon is a whiz at questions like that. (Don't tell him I said that, though.)
  4. Good heavens. Can someone get the word to Braden that the point is not to see who can give up the most home runs?
  5. Cam Boogie. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  6. http://www.fibs.191.it/images/t-shirt%20blu.jpg This shirt, which I just got in the mail today from our very own one-man Italian brew crew. Grazie, kalle8!
  7. The new neighbors across the street have a lawn mower that is in very serious need of a tuneup. Seriously, I can't hear Bob on the radio right now.
  8. The Brewers already saw him in June when he was still a White Sock. I admit, I was surprised to see it was the game they won (Suppan! Really!). Yeah, 1-0 for the night. I guess I would say that. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  9. There was a "through the mail" thread earlier this year (possibly before you joined, kelbysdaddy), which might give you some tips.
  10. It isn't even 8:45 AM yet where I am, and this thread is making me interested in a burger for lunch. And I don't even like burgers that much! (though I do favor Culver's)
  11. I agree with your whole post, but the part I quote above made me immediately think, "yeah, but we've been saying this since the all-star break and it hasn't happened yet." To me it feels kind of like being down by 3-4 runs in the sixth inning or so. The win expectancy isn't favorable, but it's not impossible.
  12. I suppose that'll spread out the overall bullpen burden some more. Plus brewerjamie's jersey is a little more relevant again...though I'm pretty sure Stormy won't be getting his original number back.
  13. They acquire ex-Brewers just to DFA them? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  14. The Madison newspapers cut back their Brewers coverage after last season, which makes stories like this both all too rare and much appreciated. Thanks, Dennis, if you're looking.
  15. I'll invoke superstition and continue the lower-tech approach while pretendastronaut is away. Lineups per JSOnline: Brewers 2B Felipe Lopez CF Mike Cameron LF Ryan Braun 1B Prince Fielder 3B Casey McGehee RF Bill Hall SS J.J. Hardy C Jason Kendall RHP Yovani Gallardo AstrosCF Michael Bourn 2B Kaz Matsui SS Miguel Tejada LF Carlos Lee 3B Geoff Blum RF Hunter Pence 1B Darin Erstad C Humberto Quintero LHP Wandy Rodriguez Come on, fellas, put together another honorable game.
  16. My last few ghetto efforts to fill in for pretendastronaut have worked out OK...so here's hoping. Your Milwaukee Brewers try once again to return to .500, with Manny Parra facing Mike Hampton (per brewers.com), an apparent fill-in while Roy Oswalt's back strain heals. Brewers, I'll be at my high school reunion and would like to not have to apologize for you all evening. So please don't quit on us tonight. Thanks! file:///C:/DOCUME%7E1/Laura/LOCALS%7E1/Temp/moz-screenshot-10.jpghttp://rlv.zcache.com/milwaukee_brewers_manny_parra_mug-p168590797696533145tr4f_210.jpg
  17. That play reminded me of Cameron's slide under the Nationals' catcher on July 30. Pudge knew to keep his feet closer together, but it did look like Counsell had room to sneak in there. Of course, as has already been stated, it was unnecessarily risky to send him.
  18. And Bud is making his second big-league start. which I'd like to think spells less instant doom than making his first against the Brewers. Of course, he did just fine in his first start: OK, go Brewers anyway. Put some positive distance between yourselves and the 'Stros.
  19. No kidding. The Rays are on the verge of having to call themselves the Brewers Expatriates, or maybe Refugees. Seriously, just a glance through their 40 man roster and I saw 7 ex-Brewers there. Add Swindle and that's 20% of the Rays' 40 man roster.
  20. Wow, I've got to find a copy of that. Never heard of it until now. I'm sure it'll be a good read.Well, it is written by Haudricourt. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Still, I learned things I hadn't known...like Iron Mike's condiment habit.
  21. Note that Paul Molitor was caught stealing by Bill Schroeder that day. And the Brewers were pwned by Jim Abbott.
  22. As of today, the S.O. and I have been a couple for 20 years. Our first date was to County Stadium for this game. We had mezzanine seats. Since 1989, the Brewers have not had a very good record on August 6. Fortunately, they're off today.
  23. The Brewers have won all three games for which I've started the IGT this season.
  24. Yeah. Missing out on the playoffs is one thing; falling flat on one's face, then never being able to get fully back on one's feet is another, even more spirit-gutting thing. Stop the misery, and get ahead of Houston.
  25. Yes, find out what condiment Mike Caldwell always carried on the road with him.
