  1. At least that suggests that the current "ebb" should be finite. Fingers crossed.
  2. 40,226 in the park, per Bob. That's a heartening number (even if it's probably boosted some by the STL nation).
  3. Or, if they get more, it'll be because the St. Louis Classies will have added to their current total. Well, let's hope for better.
  4. Yes, Cory, technically there still is time for a lucky contestant to cash in on the Menards' Big Inning. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  5. I haven't noticed. I also never got to see the "Coffey Time" scoreboard feature timing his sprint to the mound.
  6. I wonder how similar Votto's problem is to the one Ben Sheets experienced a couple of springs earlier this decade.
  7. An error? On Pujols? Tim O'Driscoll's a brave man. (sorry, I thought this warranted its own post, even if it's consecutive)
  8. Oh, Jebus. I hate to think what's in that kool-aid they're drinking.
  9. Tip of the cap to pretendastronaut for the entertaining photos of opposing pitchers. I wonder if Todd Wellemeyer has enough pin point accuracy to hit Braun in the same spot on the wrist. Anyway, go Brewers. It's really not impossible for you to get this series.
  10. So is the universe back on track now that St. Louis beat Milwaukee?
  11. Was it against the Astros last year? Or as I like to say the Geoff Blum game.If this is Jamie's first game of 2009, it's his first since the NLDS of 2008. That one where Soup took the Brewers (arguably) out of the game in mere minutes.
  12. Come on, Brewers - don't give in to the mind games! And Soup, you have to do better for Jamie tonight than you did the last time he attended a game you started. (I know what game that was.)
  13. So...the Brewers have become MLB's Team Thugtastic for 2009? Seriously? I root for a bunch of thugs? Obviously these people don't know me.
  14. You are crazy. Reds have a lot of young talent but that rotation is going to fall apart at some point and the offense really isn't all that good.In the short-term, worrying about the Reds is not completely crazy because they will be the opponent on Friday. I suppose you could argue how truly "worry worthy" the Reds are (or any team is) for those of us not actually playing the game. /nitpick
  15. You know, I didn't even notice whether Bernie went down the slide after Monday's game ended. The slide isn't really in the natural line of sight of the Dew Deck, and between the high fiving and then wondering where the players went, I didn't even think about the slide.
  16. So, that was earlier in the 2008 season (before the four game sweep in July). I wonder if STL thinks the whole untucking thing was developed to mock Yadier Molina from that temper tantrum shown in the link above.
  17. That "2nd most moola" thread title keeps making me feel like I should feel wealthy. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/ohwell.gif For years at my workplace, when I'd send around a list of days I'm leaving early for night games, my colleagues' collective response used to be one of good-natured pity: "Oh, that hawing, still following those Brewers." Now people from even other departments ask me about the team and the games and are interested in our extra tickets. For the mostly-glorious workweek of September 29-October 3, 2008, I wore Brewers swag every day and no one thought it was weird. I won't lie, I like it.
  18. I'll bump this to report the first public use of the Splash Zone - at the Memorial Day game, before the bottom of the first began. A very fine spray/mist appears to go straight up. It looked more for show than actual water content. From my vantage point, it looked like the people most at risk of getting wet were those inside Bernie's Dugout. I don't know why 2-3 people besides Bernie were up there today - unless they were Kalahari people - but the observed small sample today makes me think there will not be sopping wet fans with damaged cameras or the like.
  19. Brewers.com has video now of the walk-off hit and run-off exit; also an MLB Network interview with Bill Hall where Mitch Williams (whom I did not recognize without a mullet) asks for the umpteenth media explanation of the untucking thing. Honestly, we were high fiving fans around us in the immediate aftermath of the hit, and then when I looked up the field was strangely empty of Brewers. So I didn't see enough of it live to get any vibe, in-your-face or otherwise. I suppose said vibe is in the eyes of the beholder, so it's probably all up to STL media and fans to decide.
  20. As soon as the winning run crossed home plate today, all Brewers on the field immediately ran back into the dugout/clubhouse. There was no line of high fives on the field after the game. Of course, since the game ended in a walkoff, most of the Brewers were already in the dugout. If STL nation is still ticked by that, I wonder what will please them...short of the Brewers never winning again.
  21. Bill Hall Wins Games = Bill Hall Redeems bensheeps' Commitment To Keep Wearing Hall Retro Jersey. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif I and a few other bf.netters took in this game from the Dew Deck, which was an interesting angle for one game - not necessarily where I'd want to sit regularly. (Meanwhile, the 14-year-old girl using one of our ordinary terrace tickets to attend her first MLB game won State Fair tickets. Who says the family section never pays off?) When I first saw a red-capped Brewer throwing to Jason Kendall before the game, I seriously thought to myself, "Why on earth is a Cardinal throwing to Kendall?" before remembering the special cap. That was unnecessarily confusing. Make the "unity" element the stars and stripes logo - don't have teams wearing the opponent's color. The relentless fielding efficiency of STL always makes me want to paraphrase the Simpsons: "Aye, 'tis no men, 'tis remorseless baseball machines." Today's Game Day Program mentions the 6/16/1997 Burnitz 9th inning walkoff home run (so obsessedwithbrewcrew is correct). We were also at that game, and although the win came 14+ years too late, I enjoyed it enormously. Finally, as the game ended, it was surprising to finish high fiving fans around us and look to the field to find it empty of Brewers. I think it's awesome, though. Wasn't an idea similar to this mentioned in an IGT last week? Yes. Yes, it was. I'm looking forward to watching the FSN replay with my shirt untucked. Edit: I forgot to mention the nice touch of the stadium crew playing "Jump Around" before the bottom of the 10th. Of course, this reflects my UW-Madison background, but I think it's an excellent way to get Wisconsinite sports fans fired up.
  22. Gah, got it. Thanks. Maybe the Brewers thought it was still Friday night...
