  1. Beautiful post; but is there photographic evidence of Branyan with a mountain man beard? I thought Corey was the mountain man.
  2. Ah, Bring Back the Stein, I enjoy your posts. My diet is not all vegetarian, but I do prefer Miller Park's soy dogs to the "meaty" ones; and if I order one Wednesday night, I will think of you as I enjoy it.
  3. Grass-roots reporting. I imagine some people were out on their lawns talking to TMJ. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  4. Coffey had already appeared in Sunday's game by the time Villa was on. But yeah, after the game, once I remembered that Smith and Burns were (presumably) available, I wondered what made Macha opt for a third day of Villa instead.
  5. greggarrison, perhaps you could post a brief review of your AirTran experience after Wednesday's game.
  6. From the Wikipedia page on Russell (bold added by me): Oh, that hurts. Someone needs to take that back.
  7. OK, the home run inning procession of contestants was awesome this past half inning: Contestant #1 wins $1400 off Ryan's home run, but had Rickie as her pick. Contestant #2 had Ryan as his pick (Uecker: "a day late and a dollar short"), but won $50 off Cam's shot. Contestant #3 had Cameron as his pick.

  9. Way to help your own cause, Manny! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  10. I don't want to revive the debate over the "PC" quotient involved, but I really dislike that "tomahawk chop" music.
  11. Well, he did limit the damage; and as a tiny silver lining, we don't have to listen to the media harp on the Braves' scoreless-innings streak anymore.
  12. OK, Manny, just because the no-hitter is gone is no reason to freak out. Edit: OK, Manny, just because the shutout is gone is no reason to freak out.
  13. Well...Counsell took him deep-ish, at least. Edited to mention that the chat room is available, although the counter doesn't seem to be showing that I'm there. Yay Yuku.
  14. $25 for preferred parking, in this case, is the result of the trifecta of weekend game + marquee opponent + not buying the pass in advance. I'm not looking to apologize for the Brewers; I'm just pointing out that it's not always that expensive.
  15. Milwaukee's lineup per Haudricourt: 2B Craig Counsell SS J.J. Hardy LF Ryan Braun 1B Prince Fielder CF Mike Cameron 3B Mat Gamel RF Corey Hart C Jason Kendall LHP Manny Parra Come on, Manny. Keeping the Braves in check is not beyond your reach.
  16. Yeah, that was actually why I made the previous post. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif The matchup doesn't look fully promising on paper, but they don't play the games on paper.
  17. When Mike Rivera appeared in 2008 lineups, some posters took that as a sign of a JV lineup. Maybe that's the someone?
  18. We had to follow this game from the car radio tonight, but that's easier when it's a win. I'd suppose that Atlanta fans might be kind of depressed lately, having not scored in so long (despite chances). Imagine if they were, somehow, shut out Sunday. That would really be disheartening. Don't let up, Brewers.
  19. I picked up a FAQ flyer during our last trip to the ballpark. The answer to "What happens if it rains?" is as follows: Sometimes I wish we lived closer to Milwaukee. I'd love to watch Major League at Miller Park with a bunch of Brewers fans.
  20. Hmm...assuming no changes to a 5-man rotation for the Rockies, JDLR should be pitching in Milwaukee on Wednesday, our next game. Last year I saw him get, um, rocked. But I'm glad he's done well tonight.
  21. Jim Powell referred tonight to "the aging Hoffman." Not the "veteran", the "aging." Hmph.
  22. I wonder how Jim Powell feels about the Braves' acquisition of Nate McLouth. If he commented on it already in tonight's broadcast, I missed it.
  23. Just edging this ever-closer to post 41 and (for me) a third page...I'm done with supper and the chat room is available. Just saying.
  24. I remember not being impressed with McLouth in the field during that late-September series last year. At least the Brewers will face him less now. I've overcome my Powell grief and have the Braves audio feed on. Jim has sounded a bit subdued tonight (granted, I connected just as the Brewers were scoring runs 3 and 4). I am embarrassed to admit that I was unimpressed with the 'color' radio guy...then realized it's Don Sutton. I didn't think his voice was so high pitched. Time for brats! I'll aim to be back later.
