  1. http://photos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v4650/145/3/1129232028/n1129232028_30449157_6985546.jpg Found on a Facebook page. I don't know how recently someone was still trying to score 25% of the original price of this merchandise.
  2. Well, you've announced it on the internets, so you're probably fair game now. Cubs lose! And, sometimes, I wish the Brewers still had Mark Loretta. Though he probably couldn't get his original number back.
  3. I've already begun pondering what I'll do once it's 85 degrees at the park...provided it's ever that warm in the park again. The S.O. insists that the key is not my jacket, but the Power 50 t-shirt he has worn to the last 8 games we've attended (all wins).
  4. The Brewers are offering complimentary single-day passes to the Kalahari water park to fans with a ticket in section 236 (right under the zone - i.e. the fans who are most likely to get misted). I noticed this during Friday's game and forgot to mention it until today. I suppose that could help ease any ill will over being surprised by a spray of water - though if you're someone who doesn't like to get wet, a water park pass might not be the answer. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/ohwell.gif Or if you're sardonic like I tend to be (more so away from this site), you might wonder why a water park is named for a desert to begin with.
  5. Yeah - the change was made starting with Trevor's appearance on Friday night. Nice game. A little chilly in the shade, but my awesome jacket saw me through that. The Brewers are now 8-1 when the hawing party is in the park. I wouldn't have minded seeing more of First Inning Yo, but he plus the bullpen certainly got the job done. I did half wonder if the Brewers were trying to keep the score within "saving" distance so that Trevor could make an appearance on his bobblehead day. There was a little slice of face time for bensheeps' son (and bensheeps' jersey) during the 7th inning stretch. Yes, we did see you. Don't let up, Brewers.
  6. I think I'm going to have to make a point of wearing some Brewerfan gear when we sit in front of the press area on July 24. How nice that he acknowledged you, pitchleague. /tear/
  7. Come on, Brewers. Don't let up! For those of you traveling to MP today, I'll point out that our usher Friday night said a huge crowd is expected today (45000+). So, as Bob must have said half a dozen times on the radio broadcast last night, get an early start! (Which we're about to do.)
  8. Ooh, I'd forgotten about this. That promotion brings the loge outfield seats vs. Colorado from $28 down to either $11 or $10. So I'd say, pretty quickly.
  9. Dave - There is no need to make the Hall vs. Gamel issue moot before the Brewers even get to bat.
  10. Nuts, that was my guess. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif OK, I'll settle for 43,832. As we left Friday night and said "see you Sunday" to our usher, he cautioned us to arrive earlier than usual Sunday. They're expecting 45000+.
  11. http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_433657.jpg Dave looks so bad-ass with that beard. Come on, Dave! Keep turning up the heat! (The rest of you Brewers, too.)
  12. The suggestion made WTMJ as well. I stumbled across that earlier this month (can't say I regularly check their website) and figured that between that post and fan comments, the Brewers would likely get the message. It's a heck of a treat, having Hoffman and his entrance in Miller Park this year. I'm going to try not to get jaded about it.
  13. I think you should offer personal metereological services to the Hart family, should they relocate near your parents. I'll provide a reference. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I'll agree with OWBC on the crowd quality tonight - at least from my vantage point in front of the press box. I did not notice a single wave attempt; I didn't even realize this until reading the post above. Compare that with Monday's day game, when people repeatedly tried to start the wave, in a tight game no less.
  14. So Coop manages to not even be the second MLB manager fired in 2009.
  15. Yep, I was going to post "Trevor Time WOAH SOLVDD." Not that Trevor Time was seriously flawed before. As a bonus (I thought), the videoboard and ribbon board went black for a few seconds before they launched Hells Bells and the Trevor graphics. That helped.
  16. It's still the inner ear infection / dizziness. I'm still surprised the media haven't mentioned Ben Sheets' similar vestibular woes. That's got to be scary for Votto. I hope I wasn't the only person who enjoyed this game. I have to admit that on paper, I wasn't liking the pitching matchup, and seeing Laynce Nyx in the lyneup made me wonder if he would be a Brewer kyller again. But I was reminded yet again why games aren't played on paper. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif It rained foul balls for a while. A kid directly in front of us got one off Corey's bat, and J.J. deposited two in bensheeps' club section (or else the next section over) in the same at-bat. For those of you scoring at home and obsessing over the Brewers' AV production details, Trevor Time is now fixed. Robb Edwards lets the song play and then introduces Hoffman. Another new detail (I think) is that before Hells Bells was played tonight, the videoboard and ribbon boards were completely dark. I think that added to the effect nicely. The hawing ticket is now on a 7-0 win streak. The Brewers can start paying us to attend more games anytime they want. P.S. Attaboy, Corey!
  17. I have the stubs for most of the Brewer games I've attended, going back to my first game, September 25, 1983 (exactly a quarter century before the Ryan Braun grand slam walkoff last fall - which I also attended). In the 1990s, I began jotting down the final score and a few notes about the game ("Burnitz HR" or "DeJean angers me" or what have you). In more recent years, I've been noting the game attendance and season-to-date attendance. Later in the 1990s, after my grandfather died, my aunt who was settling his estate found some of his baseball ticket stubs and gave them to me. Not only did he also note the final score on the back of his stubs, he sat in the same section we'd sat in for the final years of County Stadium. That was nice circle-of-life realization. When I had some time off in April, I went through the Miller Park stubs and calculated the Brewers' winning percentage in games we've attended at MP. I believe it was in the .560s - not bad given some of the seasons the Brewers have endured there. Someday I'll do the same for the County Stadium stubs. Retrosheet makes it possible!
  18. We had a thread in the last year (I think) about good sources for bulk purchases of OMLBs. I haven't found it yet, but fear not - I'm sure one of the posters who's more into that facet of the sport than I am will chime in soon enough.
  19. Yeah, that (besides the whole anger-management-fail thing) is what bugs me. Will the Cubs and cub nation consider the outburst a 'good' thing because they won on Wednesday? Will it be 'justified' if they now go on a tear? I think I might rather have my team act maturely and lose than act like Z did yesterday and win. (If those were the only choices, that is.)
  20. I feel like even I (with my limited knowledge of reasonably current music) should recognize Mat Gamel's walkup song, but I couldn't identify it on Monday. Anyone catch that? For part of last year their "after a loss" song was Free Fallin' by Tom Petty. That was a little too close for comfort, for me. At times I was already imagining them free falling through the standings; why add to the metaphor?
  21. For me, USF wins it with their stylings to "Apache" (about the 2:35 mark). I'd pay to be able to see the Brewers move like that. Thing is, it never looks like it's raining in that video.
  22. I only hope that his jersey stayed safely tucked in the whole time. Otherwise, it'd be like civilization unraveling.
  23. For a split second, I thought you were talking to bf.net posters who are going to Friday's game (like me and, apparently, Invader).
  24. I got my unpleasant workplace chore done. Anyone want to join me in the chat room? Sometimes the chat room rallies work.
  25. Grr, I never feel good about Colby Rasmus being up...and I'd never heard of him before the Brewers' series in STL.
