  1. Is that what we're calling him? Because that's a nickname I could support.
  2. That reminds me...if you decide to work during college, even for campus jobs, when contacting prospective employers, use your campus-assigned email instead of your "personal" creatively named address. I've received job inquiries from such email addresses as "campusdyke@domain.com" and a really nifty one, "Anthony Funktopolous." For the latter, I was sorely tempted to write back, "Dear Mr. Funktopolous:" I literally could not tell the guy's name from the email. It did not win him an interview or a job. Also, echoing DrugBust somewhat, I'm more likely to take seriously something like, "Dear Ms. Hawing: I saw your ad on the Job Center website and it interests me. Could you tell me more about it?" than something like, "hey, I'm Gina, your library job sounds awesome and i would love to work for you!!!!"
  3. http://www.mrflag.com/thumb.php?file=1299&size=300 I promise this is the only time I'll do this.
  4. That's just what I was thinking. If I were the type to divorce my spouse, tell a bartender of my plan to shoot and kill said (ex) spouse, and then follow through on said plan...I think I'd take my truck well out of Madison. Of course, none of that really fits my general m.o. in life.
  5. http://media.jsonline.com/images/375*277/bernie.jpg This is the photo that currently appears on the jsonline front page. Without seeing it in wider context, I'd think some fans might be sprayed - which could be nice in July or August, maybe less so in April or October. link to photo Edit: Maybe I should just check the press release:
  6. This is happening fairly close to my house.
  7. I can't take that credit, but Mat the Batt was mentioned in the chat room last night. Would that we could interchangeably use Mat the Glovve as well.
  8. Tyson does have gritty and scrappy written all over his earnest little face. But Clubber's bulldog tough. I can't decide!
  9. This is pretty much why I don't listen to WSSP's post-game show. That, and polkas on WTKM are the happiest music on earth.
  10. Giddy? I can see "grimly satisfied," but giddy? Stay classy, STL/Cardinal nation. They might want to consider that Rickie didn't help the Brewers win on Sunday.
  11. Burgleflickle. My tiny, wafer-thin silver lining is that at least the surgery's being done very soon - rather than it being one of those "let's give it 4-6 weeks to see if it heals on its own" things, which (for Brewers, at least) tends to result in little more than an additional 4-6 week delay. I doubt you're reading, Rickie, but we'll be ready to cheer you on whenever you're able to return. Stay strong!
  12. I think I might have been at this 1988 game. Recently I found my old stubs (going back to 1983); I'll have to check.
  13. With apologies for nit picking a bit, the Doorman does not always sport a Pilots jersey, but he's just about always in some jersey. Pretty sweet collection.
  14. I think that is an excellent idea...especially a win on Monday. It would be interesting to see what fault STL nation finds with that approach to winning.
  15. I'm closing the thread, because I think both sides of the issue have been adequately explained, and I don't know how much more proof is needed that Happy has both supporters and detractors in the Brewerfan community.
  16. Getting back to the disrespect, is Corey Hart the new public enemy number 1 for having the audacity to score on the Cardinals?
  17. There was definitely a rule change, and I believe the rule change affected a Brewers @ Florida game a few years back. Does anyone know anything more about this?Wasn't there a Brewers-Marlins game in early 2007 which was suspended and then replayed from the suspension point later? That one was past the 5th when it was suspended, but the score was tied - hence play resumed on a different day, instead of it being called "a game." Tiny silver lining in having the makeup for this game be May 18 instead of August 31: playing on 8/31 would have resulted in another 20 games in 20 days stretch for the Brewers. They'll probably appreciate/need the off day by then. I know that doesn't help ticketholders for the original 5/15 contest, but it might help the team in the end.
  18. There you go. dlk9s with the line I just couldn't come up with.
  19. I think this is right on target, at least the head games part. I don't trust Tony L. very far at all.
  20. Just saying, guys, the chat room is operating, though the counter doesn't make it look very populated. Someone keep ttsather company while I eat dinner!
  21. I am preparing myself to watch the classiest at-bat in MLB history (to date).
  22. Don't let the mind games get to you, Brewers. Keep turning up the heat. (Are they "classy" mind games if STL starts it?)
  23. I had lunch at the UW-Madison Rathskeller today. A group of middle schoolers was there playing the jukebox. I'd like to find the one who picked "Girls" by the Beastie Boys and give him a swift kick somewhere. I much preferred having Hells Bells stuck in my brain.
  24. Yeah. Unfortunately, this stands to make it easier for the Cardinals' and STL media to muckrake about the Brewers.
  25. Prince changed his music yesterday (or sometime on the just-completed homestand) too. I could only detect "Prince" in the lyrics a couple of times.
