You say that as if it would be new and novel. Seriously, though, my #1 priority for this trip is No More (Brewer) Injuries. After that, I'd be pleased with a .500 trip. Yes, I'm setting the bar low, but not as low as I used to in 2002 and 2003.
Thanks to And That (more so to his tonsils acting up), we had access today to a front row ticket in section 117. I sat there for the first five innings and then switched places with the S.O. The novelty of the seat location helped balance out the fact that I saw exactly one Brewers hit in five innings (that being the pitcher's) and the S.O. got to catch the Gary Bennett Showcase of Offense.
As in, Edmonds has a subpar partial season in Chicago, gets lasik surgery in the off season and joins the Brewers in 2009? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif At least there's one less cub fan out there now. Visit this blog. Note the URL title.
Reaching back a bit... I was thinking Superintendent Chalmers' voice. Come on, Brewers. Some people I know are at their first game of the season and I don't want them disappointed!
Does this post belong here? Heck if I know. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif Occasional one-liners are OK. If all you ever post is one-liners, then you might hear from us. And unless you have just an epically bad post - the message board equivalent of a nuclear bomb or something - you won't be just kicked out. I'm not helping with the chaos, am I?
That's an interesting promotion. (Am I a bad fan if upon reading the link, my first thought was,"Won't there be egg on the Brewers' faces if they're shut out all weekend?")
The club seat deal of recent years is all right. Last year ours were quite a ways toward the outfield, so apart from the expanded menu, I don't know that I would miss it a lot. Having said that, we batted 1.000 with our offer - I sent it to one person and he ordered tickets (for tonight's game, in fact). I don't know when/how we find out about the club seats.
Calling the posting of this poll 'stupid' or 'idiotic' is condescending and unwelcome here. I consider myself an optimist, or at least a hopeful fan; yet for parts of last week, "16-146" loomed in my head - even though I knew that was all but impossible. This board has thousands of members - some generally pessimistic, some generally optimistic - and no one is immune to an occasional crossover. We expect everyone on this forum to tolerate opinions they don't share.
I'm going to with a little from column A (momentum) and a little from column B (moderate history of sucking on the road). We'll find out more soon enough.
Sweet. Wouldn't it be cool if the Brewers had snuck a clause into the trade stating that they get an extra player from TB with every positive game-changing action performed by Gabe?
D'oh. Well, short of being able to do the vulcan mind meld or attending a game with you where the snippet is played, I am not sure we can help you. I have heard Rockhouse played at the park, though.
Ah, geez. I was wondering why the voice sounded different on the radio tonight. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif Best wishes to Robb for a full recovery.
I was half listening to the radio call and heard 'triple play', 'Overbay' and 'Scutaro.' I remember thinking, wouldn't it be funny if Mench were the other guy, and what kind of weird ex-Brewer trifecta would that be? I guess I know now.
It is the last visit to MP for the Cardinals in 2008. See you. I know their fans rank much lower on the obnoxiousness scale than certain others. Maybe it was the Pujols family sitting two rows in front of us yesterday. Thanks to the guy who sits directly in front of me for blocking my view of them for most of the game. I also saw a guy at yesterday's game wearing a cubs jacket. Perhaps he enjoys the sensation of being someplace where most all of the 40000+ attendees hate him.
I think you might be underestimating farmers these days. Some operations make plenty of use of the internet. The free time's a valid point, though I think if many of us calculated the amount of time our commitments take up each day, we'd be surprised at how we manage to carve out time for Brewerfan.
I get it at age 42 and my S.O. would (were he reading this) at 51. Are you pondering what I think you're pondering, Ross? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
That one I might be able to help with. At home I have the Ultra-Lounge CD of organ music and when I played it for the first time, the first track made me immediately think, "hey! They play that at the ballpark sometimes!" Of course, I can't read your mind to know if this is the same piece you're wondering about. The CD is Organs in Orbit and the first track is Rockhouse. The hyperlink in the previous sentence is to the Amazon page, so check the sampler and see if that's what you're thinking of. I had no idea there would be "baseball" music on the CD. I was just looking for one more purchase to get to $25 and score the free super saver shipping.
