  1. Just because it's ridiculous doesn't mean there's no value in saddling the Mets with it. However, Wikipedia is onto the scam. (Yes, I had to look up "rickroll.")
  2. Ahh...Opening Day for (many of) the rest of us. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  3. There's a haiku in there somewhere: There's the first home runFor the Giants this season Drunk idiots boo.
  4. Nice. Thanks. I never think of posts so brief and clever. It must be opening day magic.
  5. Who needs homers? No one. But homers need Bill Hall.
  6. I'm the minority in this, but as a hardcore fan, I don't like attending Opening Day. Then I'm in the minority with you. I always consider the second game my "opening day." And accordingly, we are going Saturday and Sunday.
  7. I knew I could count on you, tomwopat! I'm sending you a kudo.
  8. Rickie's first HR definitely came at Santana's expense. I want to say it was Jesse Crain who gave up the Prince bomb. I'm pretty sure Santana was out by the time Prince did his thing. Seriously, just thinking of that game (Fanfest '05, many of you will recall) has pumped me up even more for today's game. That one was extra special.
  9. Given the number of members who are going to today's game, let me just say I will be sorely disappointed if no one posts from the ballpark via Miller Park wireless.
  10. From 1992casey's Usability FAQ: Yuku allows members to have five signatures. To create a signature or change signature preferences: Click on the Navigation button at upper right of corner of any Yuku page. Click on the Edit Signature link on the left-hand side of the controls that appear. On the page that loads, you may: [li]Edit or delete current signatures by hitting buttons in the Action column. Choose a Default signature by hitting the appropriate radio button in the Default column. Add a signature by hitting the add signature » button underneath the signature list. [/li] Click the "SAVE" button when you're done.
  11. http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j290/jason21nl/whosflagisontop.jpg This picture of Jason's is crying out to be avatarized (although shrunk down to avatar size, it would probably be too small).
  12. Yeah, pitch, when you were at MP last summer, I mentally gave you demerits for wearing "just" a bf.net t-shirt and shorts. Next time you're in Wisconsin, let me know and I'll send you the dress code. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Seriously, though, it's great to see so much new interest, and so many thoughtful application messages. We look forward to your contributions.
  13. Rooting for Clemente does not make you a loser. I've mentioned elsewhere in the forum that I'd made a short list of teams I might have switched to, had the Miller Park funding fallen through. They were mostly smallish-market teams: Pirates, Twins, Mariners, Indians, Royals. My family seems to have a history of rooting for the underdog, and I have followed suit. Since the Brewers continue to exist (yay), I don't actively root for these teams except in an entirely neutral setting. For example, when we were in Pittsburgh in 2002, we caught a game vs. Barry Bonds and the Giants, and it was all too easy to get in on the Barry taunting from the Buc faithful. That was a fun game in a great park.
  14. "Ow, my career." http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif If Gagne keeps up like on Monday, that line will obviously sting more, but tonight it's funny.
  15. I and my immediate family can visit Wisconsin's historic sites for free. It's a small but nice gesture.
  16. I wouldn't entirely mind seeing Gagne. Get him back on the bicycle right away.
  17. My mom came to the Saturday exhibition game with us (her first game in MP). When Riske came out to pitch in that game, she asked me who he was and where he had come from. By Monday evening, in her email to me about the game she referred to "good old Riske" finishing things off in the 10th. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  18. Is a four run lead better luck for the Brewers than a three run lead? (and should I have dared to ask that?)
  19. I think "quick reply" has only been around since the migration to Yuku last August. So don't think you're so out of touch, Stevo.
  20. Gameday's showing Corey's hit just beyond the wall. Did it go off the wall?
  21. The one on Downer, I suppose? (not Bluemound)
  22. Honestly, for a split second I thought this meant "our" Pedro. No! Not Pedro! Oh, Pedro. Whatever.
  23. I can hear the Nats fans now: Bill (clap-clap-clap-clap) Hill (clap-clap-clap-clap) Eight letters, four Ls, two Is. O, Bill Hill, we hardly knew ye. Truly, he was our WOAH SOLVDD.
