  1. 31 days! I remember Dave Bush with a beard, but not with a fu. Yet... http://ep.yimg.com/ty/cdn/yhst-78579118181749/davebush.jpg
  2. Oops, I missed #33 (as did we all), so here's a makeup: http://onmilwaukee.com/images/articles/ka/kapler/kapler_fullsize_story3.jpg?20080506094820 Dang, dude is built, plus his blog and Twitter account are articulate and entertaining reads. On to today: The Pride of 'Stallis! http://www.tradingcarddb.com/Images/Cards/Baseball/8731/8731-1Fr.jpg
  3. I was happy with that Wisconsin-Indiana outcome (by the end). Seeing Tom Crean preside over a second half collapse was a terrific off-season birthday present. On his way off the court after the game ended, he turned to the student section hecklers like he wanted to get into it with them. While surrounded by cops. Savvy move, Tom.

  9. Because I see little if any value to posting a photo of Ken Macha:
  10. Hear-hear for Marco! On the opposite end of the hope spectrum, we have this: http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e378/billyhallfan/Bobble%20Head%20Collection/2003BrewersJeffreyHammonds.jpg
  11. Well, he lacked the common sense to avoid cruising chat boards pretending to be a teenage girl, so why would he have mustered the common sense to avoid a ridiculous ringtone? This isn't even the creepiest guy who has frequented my library...which is pretty sad.
  12. DAMN YOU, ICE. DAMN YOU TO HELL! http://deadhomersociety.files.wordpress.com/2010/02/snow3.png
  13. Not trying to start a UW-MU fight, but http://media.247sports.com/Uploads/Assets/659/155/7_1155659.jpg
  14. About five years ago, my library had a (too) frequent visitor whose ringtone was a loud piercing bird caw. CAW! On the day he was arrested for using the library computers to chat with young girls (yes, really), I used Facebook to express my relief, because that CAW! had gone away. I mean, usually when patrons get in legal trouble for misusing our computers (which thankfully isn't daily but is occasional), we're relieved that there's one less skanky dude on our turf. That the CAW! was the first thing I and my employees thought of indicates how bad that ringtone was.
  15. In case no one knew, it doesn't help if you set the phone to vibrate and then leave it on a hard surface (like a desk or table), because the hard surface amplifies the vibration noise. Also, all of this counts doubly in a library.
  16. As a self-professed huge nerd for The Waltons, I find this awfully sad - though I admit I hadn't realized Ralph Waite was 85.
  17. Today's snow is not forecast to be a lot - just an inch or so in Madison. I'm not hoping for doom in the southeast by any means, but the worse the current snowstorm gets, the more ridiculous it is that the Weather Channel decided to name it "Pax." Where's a shaking-my-head smilie when you need one?
  18. Nice. I see what you did there, even if it was unintentional. It's good of you to realize that the day might be tough for your cousin. Offering him an out if he needs it seems like a thoughtful gesture.
  19. I voted for Wily, but I'm OK with this. Wily's got time yet.
  20. I'm in: http://extras.mnginteractive.com/live/media/site569/2013/0812/20130812__1-donovan%20hand_400.jpg
  21. I sent you a DM, brewmann04. Glad to help.
  22. More of a movie treasure than a TV treasure, but Shirley Temple has moved from the "still with us" to the "no longer with us" overnight: Link Even if you never caught her movies (and her heyday predates just about everyone here, I suspect), you've probably seen the TV commercials for the DVD collection of her movies. I had to stop watching the commercials after seeing one scene which was mostly but not completely colorized. The colorizers forgot her teeth, so when she broke out into a big grin, her teeth looked hideously gray in comparison to the rest of her colorized face. Yeah, sadly, that's my Shirley Temple memory.
  23. Terrace Box sections alternate between 6 and 7 rows. Some TB sections have a back "row" for ADA access. There's room for wheelchairs in those rows, and padded folding chairs where a wheelchair isn't needed. The Loge Infield Box sections that are in front of the press box (sections 216-221) are each 10 rows deep. Sections 210-215 and 222-227 are not in front of the press box and go back deeper, as Baldkin pointed out. brewmann04, please let me know if you want the name and contact info for our ticket rep. He can answer pretty specific questions about seating. I'm sure all the ticket reps can, but if you contacted him, you wouldn't be the first BF.net person referred to him by me (in other words, he's probably used to it ).
  24. Aww, we have to amend this statement too. Richard Bull, TV's Mr. Oleson, dies Recently I was watching a very early episode of Little House on the Prairie, and marveled over how, um, witchy they made both Nellie and Mrs. Oleson. I don't know how Mr. Oleson (the character) endured living on the prairie with them and Willie.
