  1. I made the mistake of switching jobs with a pre-existing condition. The condition is just some random fluke. It's not because I live an unhealthy lifestyle or have heredity problems. I was able to get health coverage but they would not cover anything remotely related to my pre-existing condition. Shortly after, I had complications from a previous surgery and the doctor had to go in again. That was over three years ago. Last week I finally made my last payment for that surgery. My advice to you would be to just stay where you are at. I doubt congress will ever work together to create a public option. The very least they could do ban the denial of people with pre-existing conditions. Until that day happens, you'd be better off staying where you are at.
  2. I don't know if I am the only one, but I really question the demand for this. The only places in the country that I feel would have the need for this is the northeast US and southern California. Is there really enough people that are willing to bus/cab/bike/walk to the train station and take the train to Milwaukee and bus/cab/bike/walk to their destination? And then have to do it all over again to get back to where they came from when they could just drive? To me it would seem much simpler to drive and would probably be comparable (if not better) in time and money to taking the train. But I'm a car guy at heart, so what do I know. I hope I am wrong because a lot of money is going into this project.
  3. I think it's to early to give up on Parra. He's got too much upside. If I was making the decisions, I'd see how Manny develops with Peterson's coaching. Wolf and Davis might even be able to mentor him a bit. He won't have the pressure of starting the season as the #2 guy anymore and I am hoping for a big bounce-back season for Manny. If he does, this team can go far in 2010. If he doesn't, then we'll probably have to pull the plug.
  4. If any of you are interested in cars, the Indy Speedway has a decent museum with a ton of old race cars. The AAA Ballpark looks really nice too. Haven't had the chance to take in a game when I'm in town though.
  5. I saw that Molina resigned a 1 year deal with the Giants. The Mets were really hot after him and there really isn't that much out there in terms of available catchers left. The Mets would probably have to sign Pinero and/or Sheets/Bedard/Davis/etc. in order for Maine to possibly become available. But if the Mets do get some additional help in the rotation, I am wondering if a package featuring Salome could pry Maine away.
  6. I am 31. I still eat Spaghetti-Os at least a couple times a month. No shame.
  7. For all you indie hipsters out there. Link I was into the Lost Sounds back in the early part of the decade but failed to follow any of his stuff afterwards. He seemed like a talented guy who passed way too soon. I'm curious as to how he passed.
  8. Sounds like the Cubs are hot after Sheets according to Yahoo rumors. Dodgers and Mets interested in Pinero.
  9. I'll tell you one thing. Trenni wouldn't shy away from asking the difficult questions. Make it happen MLB Network!!! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  10. I read on a yahoo link that Big Mac will be interviewed by Bob Costas tonight at 7. I don't remember if that was Eastern or Central time.
  11. Someone needs to change the title of this thread to Your 2010 Timber Rattlers. It must be done.
  12. I disagree about their rotation being a complete mess. They have two Cy Young-caliber aces. The rest are #5's for now but have some decent upside. Snell is a guy who should figure it out now that he's out of Pittsburgh. He should be much more motivated to be throwing at Safeco. French is a young guy I like too. But he probably won't amount to much more than a #4 starter. I'm not saying that the Mariners don't have flaws. But that rotation is probably the best in the AL west of the Mississippi.
  13. I remember the Paine Art Center in Oshkosh had a ton of Warhol and Lichtenstein pieces a couple years ago. It was pretty impressive considering the Paine is just an old historic mansion. Wish I knew about the MKE Art Museum exhibit before.
  14. I'm hoping that this move gets the Red Sox in on the Holliday action. I'd sleep much better if he wasn't hitting behind Pujols in St. Louis. I doubt Boston matches the St. Louis offer though.
  15. I agree. Everyone would be saying "Same ol' Brewers". To me the Pirates come pretty close to using this philosophy. They just seem to be unloading and rebuilding with prospects every single year. I don't want to be the Pirates.
  16. I think acquiring Morrow would be a huge roll of the dice if he could become a decent starting pitcher. There's no way I would trade Gamel for such a gamble. If I'm trading away my top prospect, I'd want a better guarantee of results from the return.
  17. To me it sounds like the Phillies got phleeced. They trade away an ace plus three good/great prospects for an ace and two good prospects. Add that to what they gave up last year to get Lee. That said, the Phillies are still gonna be mighty tough. I just think their farm system has been hit hard.
  18. If you take out those underachieving innings he was a fairly decent bullpen arm. I thought he was quite serviceable out of the pen. He sucked as a starter, but was a good guy to bring out in the 6th or 7th innings. Or as a long reliever. And he never really got a chance to pad (or tank) his stats the last month or so of the season when Macha seemed to ignore his presence on the roster.
  19. I don't remember anything mentioned in this thread, but does anyone know how the contract breaks down moneywise each year? I'm not a fan of the Brewers practice of backloading their contracts. Hall and Suppan's deals are handcuffing us financially because they were backloaded and I'm afraid the Braun (even though I don't see his performance tanking) deal will handcuff us as well. I'd very much prefer Wolf just gets paid 10 million each year instead of something like 16 million in 2012.
  20. He may have been a closer, but his numbers were pretty crummy last year. I'd honestly rather have McClung in the bullpen over Capps.
  21. Hinske needs to sign with the Orioles in order to play for every AL East team. My money says he ends up there.
  22. How much did you pay for your Honda? They look to be top notch but it looks like their cheapest 2-stage starts out over $2,000! I'd love to have one but I can't unload 2K for a snow thrower. The fiance already thinks I'm nuts looking at anything over a grand.
  23. I kinda thought the same thing myself last year. When I went out shopping last spring, there wasn't anything in stock. Home Depot had a couple cheapies left but there was absolutely nothing else out there.
  24. I have an Ariens right now which believe is a mid-tier brand. It breaks down constantly and let me down again this morning. They're made in Wisconsin and I know a guy who worked for them. After some of the things he has told me I will never buy one again. This weekend I'll be out shopping for a top brand two-stage. From the research I've done, the best brands are Honda, John Deere & Simplicity. I'm fairly certain that Simplicity are built in Wisconsin so I'll probably be leaning towards them. Looks like you'll have to drop about a grand at least to get one of these top brands. But I am sick of throwing in a couple hundred into the Ariens every winter only to have it act up every third snowstorm. I also would appreciate any advice in purchasing a new snow thrower.
  25. I remember a funny ESPN commercial a long time ago where this young lady was super obsessed about Peter Gammons and stalking him. I wish I could find it on youtube or something.
