  1. Hopefully the "Age of McClung" as my friends and I have dubbed it rolls on tonight! Nice outing McDung! I'm a little late on the reply here, but I've been calling him Seth McCyYoung.
  2. Kids really like the classical stuff, don't they? My daughter used to fall asleep listening to the Baby Einstein CD and that was all classical. She also listened to a Miles Davis mix CD. That's all in the past, now she listens to metal in the car with me! And much to my dismay, she is taking an interest in this Hannah Montana girl--talk about eardrum torture.
  3. I did see Manuel head down the tunnel and they cut to him re-emerging a few minutes later. The game announcers told a story about an incident between Manuel and Frank Thomas in Chicago where Manuel took him behind closed doors, but within earshot of the clubhouse, and ripped Thomas apart. They said Thomas came out after that and apologized to his teammates. So he may be laid back until challenged and then he lets you know who's in charge.
  4. My Mom works in Madison (departed downtown around 4PM yesterday) and she said it took her over 2 hours to get to Watertown. I can imagine the construction is really going to slow things down eastbound. As far as the Beloit detour goes, I see why the DOT set that up, but there's no way I'm going that far out of way. Luckily, we went to a day game on Sunday and were able to weave our way around the 94 closure in daylight. Until this is all cleared up though, I'm holding off on going to any games.
  5. Nice start to Manuel's managerial stint in NY....Jose Reyes leads off with a single tonight and is kind of acting like his leg is a little sore or something. Manuel comes out with the trainer and talks to Reyes. You then see Manuel point into the dugout at Damion Easley to replace Reyes. Manuel is trying to keep his arm around Reyes (who is obviously petitioning to stay in the game) and is trying to coax Reyes back to the dugout. Then Reyes turns away from Manuel, throws his helmet as he exits the field and heads right down the tunnel. Nice to be basically shown up by one of your stars in the first inning of your first game. Maybe I'm reading too deep into this, but Reyes' antics struck me as disrespectful.
  6. We took the 83/Oconomowoc/Watertown/A/Lake Mills route on Sunday and it worked fine until we took a wrong turn somewhere in the Hwy Q/A range. We ended going a few extra miles and got back to Madison via Cottage Grove. I was not navigating so I really don't know how we got where we did. I was just amazed at the water everywhere to the point of having no real idea where we really were.
  7. Go ahead and wear what you want, but there's so way I'm wearing them. I think what bugs me most is that the guys I see are always wearing ones that are orange, lime green or some other bright color.
  8. Casey, can you open an account at my branch? Thanks.
  9. You can't teach gritty and battling, you have to experience it.
  10. If they do, I'll be in the outdoor beer garden all day.
  11. This IGT deserves to read like the vent thread.
  12. And at some point, the ~.500 Brewers will fire their idiot manager, and I'll throw a kegger. Regardless of the reason, I'm always good for a kegger!
  13. Well, no ground lost or gained as the Cubs and Cards (eventually) both lose.
  14. A little fuel for the fire, with his 2 errors tonight, Hall has passed Jorge Cantu for the MLB lead with 15. http://mlb.mlb.com/stats/sortable_player_stats.jsp?teamPosCode=all&statType=3&timeFrame=1&Submit=Submit&c_id=mlb&sitSplit=&venueID=&baseballScope=mlb&timeSubFrame=2008&&sortByStat=E
  15. Does Hall have any options remaining? Maybe a little Nashville wake up call would help, kind of like Weeks last year. Anyways, games like tonight are the reason why MLB Extra Innings rules.
  16. Pitch, I'd say the same goes for that person at the grocery store who doesn't pull out the checkbook until the entire order is rung up and the total is given. Please, feel free to get a head start and start writing that check.
  17. Rarely do I have to go to the bank anymore due to direct deposit, but I received a check today that I wanted to deposit. So I head over to the drive thru and there's only one other car in line. I sit there for a couple of minutes and then the guy reaches for the deposit slips. A few more minutes and he finally puts his stuff in the tube. Gets the tube back and takes another 2-3 minutes organizing his front seat. C'mon people! It took me over 10 minutes to wait for one car at the drive thru. Am I the only one who has my deposit slip and check ready to go when I pull in?
  18. The late weather on WKOW said that the rain should be ending in Madison around 3 AM. Great, only 3 1/2 more hours.
  19. We've always arrived super early, never had a problem with anyone. We just sit at the entrance to the lot.
  20. I'm sure Reed Johnson (or whomever takes over in LF) will step in and vault himself into the MVP race in Soriano's absence.
  21. Unfortunately, that weather turned tragic. http://www.channel3000.com/weather/16579808/detail.html
  22. Ha! I want to party with Boggs. I drank 10 beers while reading that linked article!http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  23. Yeah, I did. I was considering the big bats at the time, but Wainwright is a big deal as well.
  24. Former Brewer Jeff Bennett hit Alfonso Soriano with a pitch tonight and broke his hand. Early reports are Soriano could miss up to 6 weeks. So now Soriano and Pujols are out until at least the end of the month.
  25. You were close, it's Soriano. Broken hand (compliments of former Brewer Jeff Bennett), could miss 6 weeks. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=AmeMAWsAj4HKTECi3VIEcBQRvLYF?slug=ap-cubs-sorianoout&prov=ap&type=lgns
