  1. When I was there, Cinergy Field was still the home ballpark. I stayed with a friend who lived in the suburbs, but before the games we went over to Covington, KY and ate/drank at one of the many waterfront establishments and then rode a ferry across the river to the stadium. For what it's worth, we ate at a Hooters--that's the type of establishment you'll find there. I also remember there was one bar that was really hopping right where the ferry dropped us off after the game. Here's an article about the ferry: Link
  2. The person who pours on the perfume/cologne and the smell overwhelms you all day. Even worse if it's "Grandma" perfume.
  3. I did the same thing for my dad's old TV. It cost me about $100 to rent a U-haul and move it from Hartland to Madison. Not a bad deal. That's similar to what my trip will be. I'm moving it from Oconomowoc to Madison. Is it a better idea to rent the truck one-way? I could always rent one in Oconomowoc and drop it in Madison, but I'm guessing there's some sort of charge for that.
  4. You know, I've worn ankle socks exclusively (even in winter) for over 15 years. I'd do it if I owned a pair.
  5. I tried it, but cannot hit HRs. I got to level 4, but needing back-to-back HRs has stopped me.
  6. Yeah, I figured the U-haul would be the obvious way to go. I just hate driving those things and it seemed like such a big truck to haul one item. I figured it would run about 100 bucks, but thought I'd ask. Thanks everyone.
  7. My parents recently bought a new TV for the basement and asked me if I wanted their old one, a 52-inch high-def big screen. It's not LCD or plasma, is 3-4 years old and works just fine. My problem is moving it to my house. They live about an hour away, so it will take some effort to do this. After measuring the TV, it will not fit vertically in a full-size van. I really don't want to rent a 10-foot Uhaul to move one item. So, the big question: Would it harm the TV if I moved it by laying it on its back? I would wrap it in bubble wrap (or something), so I'm not worried about that, but would placing a TV in this position have any potential effect on the picture quality? Thanks in advance for any suggestions or advice.
  8. I hated that thing and my friends knew it, so whenever we went to a game they always wanted to see it.
  9. Yeah, that's they guy I talked to.
  10. So, that American Movie guy in Brett's post....was he the "star"? He was at some bar on Water St. one night when my buddy says, "Hey, it's the guy from American Movie!" Of course, I have no idea what American Movie is or who the guy was, but he walked by my table and I said, "Hey, American Movie. You're the man!" The guy kind of Cheech-like gives me a "Thanks, good to meet you." I just did it on a dare, I'll never see the movie.
  11. I'm not cool. I don't Myspace, cell phone, ipod or video game. Myspace is just another internet black hole used to waste time. Why would I want to add people as "friends" that I don't care about, you know? It's like an e-popularity contest. But hey, go have fun if it's your kind of thing.
  12. You can NEVER go wrong with Twisted Sister.
  13. Sure would be nice to a Giants win as we tailgate tomorrow.
  14. I'm going down with a group of friends for this one. We'll be one of the first cars in the Bluemound lot, we'll be there good and early.
  15. I'm gathering that I don't need a club seat to access the club, but rather just a club pass Correct. The entrance to the .300 Club is outside of the club seat doors.
  16. For those of you referencing The Simpsons and the characters, go here and create your own Simpson style character. Back to your regular discussion......
  17. should i shave my sideburns? Sideburns are so Brady Anderson and he's old news.
  18. I like standing above the visiting bullpen, but whenever I've had standing room I try to get up behind the bleachers early and sit at those Miller Lite barstools... Do they still have those behind the LF bleachers? We encountered a major power-tripping usher last year who insisted those stools/tables were only for people with bleacher tickets. When we asked why people with bleacher tickets would go all the way to the top behind the bleachers, he didn't have an answer and threatened to have us thrown out.
  19. If I wanted to put the veggies on the sandwich, I'd get a job there.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Wow, this has spun into a full-blown conversation.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

  21. bb, maybe they'll give you jalapeños on the side. I like them on the sandwich, it was just a bit much that day.
  22. I tell ya Casey, I love jalapenos. Still, watching this kid throw two fists full on there, I must've been looking at him with bug eyes. I hate to say it, but that was even too many for me.
  23. I just bought 5 tickets in terrace reserved for $6.50 each. My friends and I were going to this game anyway, so why not lock up some tickets in advance at half price?
  24. I took that for the first time in ages this past Fall when I had a terrible sore throat and other illness symptoms. I woke up all but hallucinating and out of it...at 11PM, 2 hours after I had gone to bed. Yeah, I'm not a fan either. I seem to remember waking up completely out of it a short time after falling asleep. I looked at the clock, saw 10:00 and had no idea if it was AM or PM. For the most part, I like to "tough it out" when I'm sick and avoid feeling even more screwed up by medicine.
  25. It must depend on the Subway. It always depends on the Subway. I am a frequent visitor and each of the four restaurants in my "rotation" do things differently than the others. There are two that just heap on the veggies, but only if the right people are working. I was astounded by the foot-long sub one guy made for me recently--I always get jalapenos, and this guy gave me two fists full. When I got home, I opened the sub and counted 43 jalapeno slices. Yes, 43. Anyway, this pinched nerve in my neck is bugging me. Otherwise, I'd be sleeping and not posting at 6 AM.
