Now that another catcher went on the DL due to a collision yesterday is that enough? Or those claiming we only pay attention when its a big name say that Quinterro isn't important enough to worry about?
  2. endaround
Catchers don't catch every game. I think people just need to let the Lucroy and Wolf thing go. Its not that big of a deal.
  3. endaround
If Kotsay or Counsell doesn't hit for Betancourt we have issues with our management
  4. endaround
Because he now has 2 short stops to back him up!
  5. endaround
You know, you are allowed to hit for Betancourt!
  6. endaround
    Being Aggressive!
  7. endaround
    Runnin' into outs! It's fun!
  8. endaround
With a normal Fielder shift that's a hit.
  9. endaround
He was out. Not sure how you miss that.
  10. endaround
It wasn't a perfect throw. It was an on target throw and it beat Weeks by 6 feet.
  11. endaround
    Advancing on that? Why?
  12. endaround
That's the whole point, Cousins is taught to illegally ram into Posey and Oosey is taught to illegally block the plate.
  13. endaround
That has to be Gamel, right?I'd take Katin if the pitching matches dictate it
  14. endaround
With Wilson on the Brewers and Tejeda on the Giants the near impossible will happen and there will be 2 shortstops in the major leagues in the same building at the same time worse than Betancourt.
  15. endaround
The catcher was blocking the plate on Hardy. There is at least one season ending injury a year plus countless more weeks lost, for what exactly?
  16. endaround
Actually you see it all the time, either the catcher getting hurt or the runner getting hurt. You would think Brewer fans would have long enough memories to remember Hardy's ankle or you know Morgan.
  17. endaround
Trumbo is a Salt Lake City product. His numbers before that are rather pedestrian for 1B. He has power but little discipline. He's more Jeff Francoeur than Fielder or Branyan.
  18. endaround
But they shouldn't be and are technically against the rules. Its illegal to block any base and its illegal to interfere with someone trying to apply a tag in a violent manner. There is no reason for it to be part of the game.
  19. endaround
Why? The Brewers will still need pitchers next year. And yeah an Escobar type isn't that easy to find. Next year is actually a decent crop for FA shortstops. There's Reyes of course, but then you have Hardy and Furcal. Then you have Ramon Santiago and Scutaro before you get to defense only guys like McDonald and Wilson (maybe).
  20. endaround
Wilson would only be available for AAA if he refused his assignment and hope for a job so he might jsut as well stay with the team that already called him up. Now if the Brewers were to DFA him he may stay seeing they are willing to give him shot.
  21. endaround
If they are planning on palying Counsell more they might want insurance in case of injury since they have no depth. Wouldn't be surprised to see him DFA'd in time for a DH. My god I don't want to see Kotsay DH.
  22. endaround
Now a left handed 3B platoon option...
  23. endaround
You can if he has options remaining.
  24. endaround
Then you will be sorely disappointed. There is Roy Halladay and then there are really good pitchers who are still human. Not one pitcher who was a consistent starter in the NL averaged over 7 innings a start last season aside from Halladay.
  25. endaround
He's needs to show he's healthy to get DFA'd.
