  1. Toronto doesn't need pitching. Its one reason the Brewers match up with them. Parra doesn't need to shipped out.
  2. Chamberlain did not have control problems in the minors. He didn't have control problems before this season really. This season he's hit 10 batters. And even given all that he's been an average starter
  3. McClung is a crappy pitcher, Chamberlain isn't. Thats a huge difference.
  4. They actually might move Joba, but if they are willing to that means there could be something seriously wrong with him. He hasn't been right.
  5. Toronto needs to win 95 games to make the playoffs, Cleveland 85. That's a huge difference in planning for next season.
  6. Glaus can't play 3B, he can't make throws across his body. He's a PH only since LaRussa nixed allowing Pujols to go back to 3B
  7. Fangraphs had the CC deal as even for both sides. They had the Cards deal as the Cards giving up $25m to get $8m in value. That was just for Wallace, before other players were added.
  8. The fact that you say Melvin didn't bring in any prospects doesn't make it true. He did. He got Jorge De La Rosa, Zach Jackson, Jose Capellan, and Carlos Villaneuva. Capuano had all of 33 innings in Arizona before becoming a Brewers.
  9. That went over my head, can I get an explanation.? Jack Z did not want Gallardo, Melvin did from everything that's been said.
  10. There's this guy named Gallardo you might want to check out.
  11. Then you wouldn't have to worry about Gamel and Escobar because they'd already be gone. Haren did not come cheap.
  12. The one great pitching success was the pitcher Jack Z didn't want.
  13. Hart over the last month .286/.390/.357. Is that great? No, but is avergeg given its so OBP dominant. Turn a few doubles into home runs and it would be great.
  14. What is Hall doing? Taking away a spot from Hernan Iribarren?
  15. Here's Dunn's UZR/150 for LF for the 2007-2009: -21.1-, -20.0, -30.8. Now figure RF is about 5-10 runs more difficult. Dunn is just that bad.
  16. No it wouldn't need to be that high of a prospect but it would need to be real prospect. Say Gindl.
  17. No. Dunn's defense is just that bad. Dunn's WAR is 0.8, Hart's WAR is 0.9. That's a lot of money for a lateral move.
  18. Actually he's been listed as both.
  19. The Brewers went after Lowe and he said no way. They went after Johnson and he wanted to stay out West.
  20. This could easily be a negotiating ploy at this point.
  21. I do want to make clear that an age 27-28 Escobar can be a really valuable player. But thats 2014 not 2010 or even 2011.
  22. Yep coming up with a stop gap short stop in 2 years is easy. Finding top line pitching talent now and for next year is really hard.
  23. No you don't. There are lots of average shortstops available. Yes they'll cost more than Escobar but they give you the same value near term.
