  1. That is a fairly large area. I guess the first question is do you want city water/sewer or well/septic/mound
  2. Seriosuly, take the ball last night that Hardy was going back on that Braun should have gotten. It was clearly Braun's ball and one he should have caught but because he didn't put a glove on its its not an error but a double
  3. But you're expecting an aging Counsell to hit like he did for the past two months instead of a more Hall like .229/.358/.308 he managed against RHP last season. Or the .234/.337/.316 he hit in 2007.
  4. UZR tallies runs prevented by different aspects of defense. So in 2008 Soriano got 4.7 runs from his arm, -1.1 for his range, and -1.0 for errors. http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=847&position=2B/OF This year he's "stunk" but looking at corner OF UZR ratings at this point is really foolish, like looking at BA after the first week of the season
  5. Marco(s) Scutaro
  6. Soriano's alleged value comes almost entirely from his arm. For example his UZR in LF last year was 2.5 with 4.7 of that due to his arm.
  7. The fact that Counsell has been hot does not mean it will continue. His BABIP is 70 points over his career average and 100 points over the past two seasons. He's likely to be the same .230/.340/.310 hitter going forward like he has been the past 2 years
  8. The seem to be really reluctant to move Hall off 3B and 200 PAs by McGehee at 2B is a bad thing all the way around.
  9. A big problem with fangraphs is that they take early UZR stats and treat them like hitting stats when they just aren't. They're not really a record of what happened, they're more what happened compared to what could have happened given a draw from another distribution. Morgan at 9.9 runs defensively when the top LFer was at 16.5 for an entire season.
  10. Lawrie is unlikely to be ready to start in 2011. Again the idea that Weeks being average at 2B was this huge yoke for the Brewers to carry for a few years makes little sense.
  11. Teahen is no longer at 2B for a reason. He can't play it. Aside from DeRosa and Lopez, no one mentioned really can play everyday and as such its hard to say if their value over Iribarren would be worth the cost to obtain. If you could get DeRosa that would be great but he's unlikely to come easily. I doubt the DBacks are ready to call it a season yet.
  12. It makes little sense to extend Bush. He will likely want 4 years. Of those 4 at least one looks to be a rebuilding year (likely 2011). And then you're left with his age 32-33 years which carry some real risk.
  13. It indicates how he pitched this year better than ERA does. And it matches what he did last year. His velocity is down from 2 years ago on his fastball and its up on his changeup. He's not the same pitcher he was 2 years ago much less 5
  14. His BABIP right now is .270, that won't last
  15. The Blue Jays still have a 4.5 game lead on the Yankees and this may be Riccardi's last shot so unless Toronto takes a nose dive in June I think the Jays may end up buyers
  16. Suppan's FIP this year is 5.78, for his career its 4.81. This Soup is past its expiration date.
  17. If Gamel can't be trusted to come in with a large lead and play 3B he shouldn't be at 3B. Giving up unnecessary runs in 0-0 is much worse than in a 4-0 game.
  18. How is Hardy a trade chip? Anybody trading for Hardy wants to win now since he only has one year remaining. If you want to win now you don't give up frontline talent. And the Brewers can't repalce Hardy, not surprisingly Escobar isn't hitting in AAA. You bring him up now and you'll have Neifi Perez.
  19. Why should Bush be traded? Unless you feel like the Brewers shoudl rebuild next season, which doesn't amke a lot of sense, you keep him and let him walk. The next season when the Brewers somehow need to find 3 pitchers is likely the year to do a rebuild.
  20. The 10 day requirement is just to keep teams from constantly optioning their starting pitchers down between starts. There is no minimum major league requirement
  21. I wish Suppan was that guy
  22. I wish Suppan was that guy
  23. I wish Suppan was that guy
  24. My mistake, Anderson made it sound liek Weeks was replaced after the bottom of the 3rd not after the top of the 1st(didn't get to catch the game until the 4th), but the point still stands. And if you don't trust McClung and Julio with a 5 run lead why are they here?
  25. If you don't bring Gamel in to play 3B with a 4-0 lead against a RH pitcher in the 4th inning, do you ever allow him to play 3B?
