  1. Myths for 600 Alex: This Brewers pitcher people assumed to have mastered his control but still had a BB/9 rate of 4.70 in 2008. Who is Seth McClung? Alex.
  2. USS Mariner pretty much compliained constantly about Sexson not being able to handle the field. Sexson in 2007 had a RZR of .655, Fielder was at .668 in 2007, .684 in 2008.
  3. Bill Castro will have the bullpen in the next stadium named after him
  4. Casey Blake won't get more than $6m and can actually play 3B. Blaylock's big issues are that he should be platooned and there are serious questions about his glove at 3B after his injuries.
  5. So now his bad defense is a character issue ? Braun must have been terrible person last year because he couldn't play defense!
  6. Well it is a serious offer, but not something that will make Sabathia hurry up and sign a 4 year deal. Add $20m onto it for Sabathia to take 4 years.
  7. Players need to show more emotion! Unless they refuse to sign a below market deal, then they are jerks if they show emotion!
  8. CC is going to get $25 m for 6 years at least so I don't see this as some huge offer.
  9. Sexson is a complete butcher in the field now.
  10. You think other team's GMs are fooled by an undeserved All Star appearance?
  11. Peavy is better than Parra. That's an upgrade not creating a hole. Including Hardy (ignoring that SD won't want him) is hugely overpaying in that package.
  12. Yes get rid of that injury prone Sheets and bring in AJ Burnett!
  13. Don't know about that. It takes a special kind of mind to have Shouse walk Howard to face Burrell with the game on the line. I really think thats was the last straw and if Mark A was in Philly that day Yost might not have made it to the second game of the double header.
  14. Actually he's worse. Taveras is among the best defensive CFers in the game. Pierre is terrible at this point. Taveras and Pierre are very close offensively, Taveras just had a bad BABIP year making him look worse.
  15. The only reason to be interested in DeJesus is the reason why he would be costly to get, he's cheap for the next three years. But he isn't as good as Cameron next season due to Cameron being superior defensively.
  16. I think people need to hold off a bit on this. Jack Z was likely prepared to handle direct questions about Riggleman and Yost and just threw them into his answer on mangers.
  17. Why does Randolph scare me? Because in 2005 he had a clearly unready Jose Reyes bat lead off because of his speed. And Reyes put up a .273/.299/.390 line. Randolph thought that deserved the most plate appearances possible.
  18. Sheets could dominate in LA
  19. Don't understand the Kapler thing. I mean obviously the right player manager is Mike Rivera. Its not like he has to worry about playing and managing at the same time. In addition he's backup catcher, and we all know backup catchers make the best managers!
  20. Range factor and zone rating don't tell about range, just plays made. You need to look at OOZ plays to get a good idea of how encompassing a players' range actually is. Weeks had 41 OOZ plays in 1056 innings. The players who had more OOZ plays: Utley (the modern ideal player) 66, Lopez 51 in 1229 innings, Uggla 45 in 1272 innings, Iwamura 44 in 1337 innings, and Roberts 42 in 1320 innings. To me this says Weeks has really good range.
  21. Because he has great range. Zone rating doesn't tell you anything about "range" per se. Not sure how he fails the eye test, the eye test shows he gets to balls no one else gets to.
  22. I guess I just don't get this. The Brewers have the money, the FA class stinks, and they really don't have the resources to make a trade without pretty much giving up on getting a pitcher or 3B via trade.
  23. Salome's bat isn't the problem.
  24. Many times if you decline an option the team has to release the player without offering arbitration.
  25. Yep the Braves could easily get him. Why they would on the other hand is harder to answer.
