This is the first year the Brewers have spent loads of money on the bullpen. Dillard, Stetter, and Pena likely easily could give you what the brewers got from Gagne, Mota, and Turnbow. That's $17 million.
Because the difference between an error and an infield/bloop single is nil. When Hardy misplayed a ball in Washington he wasn't the one who then started hanging his pitches for the Nats to hit ringing doubles until they scored 5 runs. Add into the fact that errors are entirely subjective and there you go.
That's the PECOTA version. It still assumes 32 starts by Gallardo. Using the 3rd level of win percentage makes the odds less though still slightly ahead of the Cardinals.
Last Brian said anything he said Yo has changed his tune from expecting to be back in September to hoping to maybe be back. If he gets any time in Winter ball it would be a good thing but he could easily not pitch again until spring.
Voloquez's VORP: 37.5 Sheets' VORP: 35.5 Sheets has pitched 10 more innings in the same number of starts (one less game) It depends if you think the All Star game should be the "Game for players who had 1/2 of a good season" or if you weigh in past performance.
Santana had a no trade clause and would only go to a team that signed him to a huge extension. It basically cut the market down to three teams. Look at what Bedard brought to the Orioles and discount a little.
I completely agree.. the rule should be if 99.9% of the fans watching believe it is the fielder's fault it should be an error regardless if the touch the ball.. I don't get how if it goes through and IF's legs and never touch his glove and it is an error and if a OF comes in and misplays a flyball it is a hit.. Best part is if he would have recovered a step quicker and stuck out his arm and have it bounce off his glove it would have been an error
