It was determined the last time the Brewers don't require aknowledgement from the hitter. Yost of course has been his stubborn self and not changed that
The fact Schneider got to spend his career years in the major leagues and Rivera in AAA is the only difference here. If Rivera was on an Expos team that couldn't care less he could have had his age 28 year in MLB too.
Not sure why you think Schneider is an upgrade over Rivera. But given the 20-30 games over which Kendall's backup looks to play there just isn't enough PAs there to make any move worthwhile.
I'm pretty sure they'd use Rottino as the back up since they hated Munson behind the plate and its not like Munson is going well. They brought back Iribarren despite his struggles.
How many lefty relievers do Fielder and Branyan have to see before Yost splits them up? Luckily the Twins only have two killer lefties in the pen so they'll only be neutralized from the 6th inning on!
I don't see anyone on the AAA roster with that line actually. I thought you were talking about Brad Nelson but he's .313/.424/.518 I used fangraphs which I thought were updated daily. Rotowire has him at .318/.424/.518. Whereas BA has him at .313/.424/.518
I think people need to keep in mind Victor Santos was great for the first half of 2005 and people actually talked about Ruben Quevedo seriouslsy as an All Star for Milwaukee after a lights out May in 2002
If you want to feel a bit sick right now: So the Brewers at this point have a 1 in 5 shot at the playoffs. At the same time last year it was about a 4 in 5 shot
Washington-Guzman or Lannan I'd guess. Given Guzman's hitting .314 he's likely the one since Lannan has a losing record despite a sub 3.5 ERA San Francisco- Rowand and Molina are both killing the ball. Linecum is of course an option Colorado--Either Holliday or Cook though they might just take Fuentes. San Diego--Adrian Gonzalez is hitting .295/.358/.557 with 18 HR and 60 RBI. Giles is having a good year at 37 but will unlikely be enough to break into the OF jam. Maddux has been very good but has a bad record. Heath Bell has been outstanding again but he's not a "Closer" so I'd guess Gonzalez
Yep, sounds like a reporter who looked at rosters, saw the Brewers didn't have one of those known crappy backups and thus must want a catcher. If Kendall got hurt it'd be Rotino
