  1. Weeks is not very good at 2B. Braun is the worst 3B major leaguer anyone alive has ever seen. There is a difference.
  2. minorleaguesplits.com-though it doesn't have stats before 08 available right now. Dillon though hasn't shown any real type of split and Iribarren isn't as good of a hitter no matter what hand the pitcher throws with. And Yost alos used the guy who can actually play 2B first after Hardy already went down.
  3. So you think after Yost had Branyan and Fielder face lefties twice this game he might figure that having them back to back is stupid?
  4. Braun needs to lay off the Jenkins special
  5. If Schroeder thinks you should pitch around Ausmus to get to the pitcher is there any single batter Schroeder wouldn't pitch around?
  6. The added injury risk just isn't worth it. The big difference is major league pitchers are facing other major league pitchers with major league control.
  7. Counsell shouldn't lead off because he is bad hitter. And who care about how BA w/RISP. That's 57 ABs.
  8. I'd rather pay $3 million more a year and keep Sheets than sign Burnett. If Milwaukee hates Sheets due to his missing time....
  9. See this is a message board--on it there are different people with different ideas
  10. The other team was stupid first! We can't help ourselves!
  11. WoooHOOOO! Walking Lee! That takes some bad pitching!
  12. Putting men on in front of Berkman-thats strategery!
  13. Pete Rose was much more interested in another type of book
  14. Pitchers get sent down to the level they have the right instruction at. Not really that big of a deal, especially if they think he's injured. Sheets pitched in Rookie ball in 2006 if you remember.
  15. Yep, and late in games where you only have the pitcher spot up one more time its often worth it. That said, Yost never does that either. In fact he'd often set up his lineups so he really couldn't do that (last year it was Fielder Estrada Jenkins, daring opposing managers to throw out the LOOGY. And then when he goes to lift Jenkins, lo and behold the other team had a right hander waiting for Mench)
  16. I really think Vegas baseball odds are way out of whack at the ends. Its really hard to say any team has a 2/3rds chance of winning any game.
  17. They tried, the Rolen deal fell through. So your entire premise is faulty. Hall is vastly superior to Dillon defensively and vastly superior to Counsell offensively, that makes him the better player.
  18. All it really says is that when Bush tires he needs to be taken out, he just tires at different points depending on the game. But again his first two starts, 20% or so of the sample was completely out of line with how Bush pitched in his career (ie tons of walks).
  19. That Hall non-move was a coin toss--The Rockies had DeLaRosa already warmed in the pen, so doing nothing and saving a hitter isn't a bad thing. That said Yost is really bad at pinch hitting for his starters.
  20. Thing with Parra is that he's had a lot of long innings which would tend to throw things off
  21. Right they could eject Tavarez now or when Gange/Riske gets back but that still leaves thr crunch. I'm actually all for Gagne getting a rehab stint in the minors anyway but I'm not sure the Brewers are.
  22. If Hall wasn't in the long term plans when they signed Cameron he would have already been traded. Cameron was signed because the Brewers finally admitted Braun can't play 3B (after it almost cost him the ROY). And why Hall now? Because the other options at 2B are worse by a long shot.
  23. The problem is that there is no room now. It would be really hard to send Dillard down in order to get Stetter up which is basically what would happen assuming Riske and Gagne return in the week like Riske hopes.
