  1. Under, a bad two weeks and he'll get the Cameron treatment
  2. Uggla has been hitting 2nd about half the time.
  3. The Olympics in Chicago is likely the best bet Milwaukee has for saving the Bucks. While the United Center would likely be the finals host for basketball, they'll need plenty of gym spcase for all sorts of sports.
  4. Also the Seligs had no other outside money source and were always liquidity constrained. They had to borrow to cover spring payrolls until the money from the national TV contract came in. As such the franchise was always up against its debt limit.
  5. Garry Howard is the one who forced Steven A Smith onto an unsuspecting world. That alone is enough for him to be one of the most hated men in all of sports.
  6. Not that familiar with high finance?
  7. Keep in mind when Nickel was covering MU it was heavily disfavored by the powers that be in the sports section.
  8. Suppan's salary the next two years is 12.5 million and 14.5 million. And he's projected to give you the equivalent of a 4.80 ERA. That's why people are looking to move him.
  9. Witrado seems to be the guy who keeps harping on the strikeouts each and every time he can. It's in some ways amazing that you can have lots of people who love baseball and go out of their way to understand it, and then you have guys who feel put upon having to do what's basically a 3/4 a year job. Yes, the travel can be tough and the hours not set, but most other jobs don't feed you.

  13. A general finding need not apply to all players. And I highly doubt Hardy gets many more IBB while he had 3 in the 7th spot. Now that Yost caved, it will take more work though to sort out what's going on.
  14. The Brewers are still closer to last place than they are to first.
  15. Hardy's increase in walks is due to hitting in front of the pitcher so expect them to plummet. In the 7th spot he has 20 walks in 144 PAs for a 13.8% BB rate. Outside of that he has 3 walks in 73 PAs for a 4% rate.
  16. Belter is a good player when you facor in dfense, but whay would Seattle want Hall? If they trade away Beltre its not like they'll be expecting to compete any time soon.
  17. They are actually more likely to go in together if they don't retire at the same time. Maddux is a definite first ballot, not sure Glavine and Smoltz are (yes its a foolish thing, Glavine and Smoltz won't suddenly get better after another year of retirement).
  18. Maddux has no reason to retire though.
  19. Right now FSN seems to be getting more and more like Fox, where the scripted bits with packaged graphics and interviews of minor celebrities in the stands are more important than actually showing the game. Last night once I think 2/3rds of inning was over before they actually decided to talk about the game in front of them.
  20. "Not trying to hit home runs?" Bill, have you ever actually seen Prince swing the bat?
  21. Day game I think thats gone, but Hall and Hart likely would have been gone in an open roof day game
  22. Have no clue how they didn't cut down Hardy. Can we finally answer the question about his speed?
  23. Only reason I can see for Johnson to still be out there is trying to get him a win and its the bottom of the order
