  1. Its because everyone expects the pitcher to get out every single time (similar to how everyone expects every single runner to score from 3B with less than 2 outs). But they get a hit more than 1 out of 10 times. So in a 3 game series you are expected to actually see one of the opposing pitchers get a hit.
  2. They have three who can play 2B already in Hall, Counsell and if needed Dillon. Adding a guy you never want to do anything except pinch hit when you have to remove a pitcher early or take over 2B after two injuries just seems like a waste.
  3. How? Easily. He had like a 700 OPS heading into August last year. There were questions if he would have to repeat AA. Now its not bad that it took until August for him to hit, the point is he likely needs more seasoning in AAA like his numbers seem to indicate. And his power didn't show up until August last year either.
  4. This has nothing to do with you. The point is that if the Brewers are making a decision based upon a deadline with a pitcher that had 1/2 of a good season three years ago and three mediocre AAA outings surrounded by three awful ones its a bad thing. Its like putting McClung in the rotation based on a ERA that was fueled by an unsustainable low home run rate instead of him actually pitching better. Moving Bush down to make way for Weaver and McClung based on one or two starts is a sign of a bad franchise.
  5. You must have missed Guillen saying his offense stinks this year and getting into a fight with his shortstop over scoring of plays
  6. I just don't get the Iribarren call up. He's struggling mightily in AAA, had only one great month in AA last year. Nelson's clock is ticking much faster than Iribarren's. Is this just familiarity?
  7. It always is better to play hurt and play like crap and hurt your team than to not play!
  8. The point is we have tons of innings to evaluate every single one of those pitcher save perhaps Villaneueva. What they do over two starts is near meaningless.
  9. Yes overreacting to small samples is a great way to run a franchise
  10. Yes the team isn't the 27 Yankees. But you have it backward. If it was the 27 Yankees even a sports radio host would be bright enough to manage the team. Instead we have 83-85 win talent and need a manager to add not subtract wins from that to make the playoffs. Yost media comments do show a lot, the fact is he has no consistent philosophy shines right through everything he says. Yost used to be different with thw media but he broke down last season when teh team went south and has never recovered.
  11. Yep. The Brewers never cared about teh Twins while in the AL and only care about them now to pretend that big market Twins with a really cheap owner and the small market Brewers are similar.
  12. Yes they think he's wroth more than $15,000. That doesn't mean they think he's more than AAA filler. But I still see little reason to bring up another middle infielder anyway.
  13. Burnett's injury history is more severe but its a starting comparison. Halladay maybe closer.
  14. Crabbe isn't on the 40 man and leaving him unprotected pretty much tells you what the organization thinks of him
  15. I think most everyone here thinks BA is a really bad stat.
  16. It would be Irribarren I'd guess if they went with a MI but with Hall available why they wouldn't grab the better bat in Nelson would be a good question.
  17. On the broadcast they quoted Riske as saying he wants two or three bullpen sessions before he comes back but both he and Gange are targeting next homestand. Really surprised they aren't sending Gagne down to get at least some rehab work in. They don't have a huge need in the bullpen right now and it wasn't like he was setting the world afire before.
  18. No the best option right now is the Branyan/Hall platoon but the chance of the happening is slim. After all Schroeder get his idea that the team just can't handle a top of the order platoon from somewhere. I guess players are so dim it confuses them or something.
  19. Do you know how well Hardy did in the 2 spot? Do you realize he hit better not hitting 2nd than he did hitting 2nd? His .322 OBP hitting #2 was bad for the team.
  20. If you think Dillon is best at 2B then you and Ned make a group of two
  21. But there really is no room in the pen. Gagne and Riske are coming back which means sending DeFelice down most likely and releasing Tavarez? Sending down Dillard?
  22. This is pretty much :Would you like to be hung or shot?
  23. Someone want to explain to Bill that if Shouse came in to pitch to Helton he didn't then have to face Atkins?
