  1. Yost hopefully has the quick hook ready, McClung at most has another 15 pitches in him.
  2. Except that makes no sense either. In their last 10 games: 3,5,4,4,3,3,3,3,9,1. That's 3.8 runs per game, not great but not some huge drought . And go back one more game and its 4.5 runs per game
  3. Someone want to tell Bill that the DBacks are 3rd in the NL in runs, they really aren't having theses huge offensive problems he seems to think they are having. They don't steal because they don't need the risk.
  4. Well they included all of Russell's signing bonus on one year. Next year he won't be on the list.
  5. He's a piker. This is the real winner
  6. Brain Anderson thinks the Quality Start is a new fancy stat. So we can expect him to explain SLG% correctly in about 15 years or so.
  7. Randy Johnson is no longer Randy Johnson, but he's still making left handed hitters that face him look like roadkill. This year he faced a left handed hitter 25 times for the line against of: .091 .185 .227 .412 That's scary. Over 2005-2007 it's been .188 .249 .267 .516 Keep in mind only top LHer unsually get to face him.
  8. You would be mistaken Escobar's current line: 331/.371/ .456
  9. Hart was average over his time in CF. Braun has been slightly below average in LF. Not sure how this approaches to be a hard decision.
  10. I agree. I just think it'd be really cool to have the outfield made up of Pirates. Mostly because only one of them will likely be able to get to go.
  11. Ludwick has only 170 PAs. Ryan Braun: .297/.328/.578 Soriano: .287/.332/.556 There is very little difference there and given that neither draws a huge amount of walks they can swap OPS back and forth on daily basis right now.
  12. Suppan=Bush=Villanueva. There is very little difference among the three save for cost and age
  13. Go with the slogan: "Ryan Braun: Almost Good Enough to Start for the Pirates!"
  14. The point is Dillon can give Fielder a day off. Or he can play 3B or OF. He just shouldn't be at 2B because he can't handle it defensively.
  15. Well Tony Gwynn Junior is definitely his uncle's nephew
  16. Cook is signed for the next 3 years at less than $10m per, I really doubt the Rockies are going to be shopping him.
  17. Why would the Giants want Prince instead of Linecum? If they can afford Prince they can afford Linecum. And the reason to trade Suppan is so the Brewers aren't paying $12.5 million to a #4 at best starter.
  18. Because a team with little hope in the present doesn't need to hold onto 30 year old LOOGYs having career seasons. I'd pass because he isn't better than Shouse. As a possible Shouse replacement next year? Maybe.
  19. Bush looked injured his first two starts. He was just completely off.
  20. For Suppan to waive his no trade he might require an extension so it would be really hard during the season. The best hope for the Brewers is he keeps getting lucky and ends up with an ERA between 4and 4.25.
  21. I swear the MJS prints the most foolish letters they can find to make themselves seem intelligent
  22. But it isn't just swinging at strikes. He can expand his hitting zone but he needs to realize what his zone actually is. Take Vlad. He has the biggest hitting zone that most ever saw. Yet his OBP is still 60 points higher than his BA because he doesn't swing at balls he can't hit, Braun does.
