  1. How is this affordable? Sole gets $30m if he sucks and can opt out to arby if he's good.
  2. If Lucroy comes back soon I'd expect Kottarras goes on the DL. I have no idea how the guy can catch, he seems like he can hardly walk right now.
  3. Thank god we got another 2/3rd of inning from Gallardo instead of trying to score a run with a man on 3B.
  4. Because mangers are poor thinkers. A power bench bat that filsl a Dillard bullpen role? Not sure why you wouldn't want that.
  5. Sometimes I have no clue what Roenicke is thinking. Brooks Conrad is your best RH bench bat, as sad as that may be. You have two relatively strong LH bench bats in Green and Kottaras (though Kottaras might draw a walk needing you to burn another player to run). For his career Conrad has hit .206/.280/.402 from the left side. You hit Conrad as a lefty, both making your RH bench options much worse and being the worst LH option you have.
  6. A OBP heavy .800 OPS is not average for RF. It would be an wOBA close to what Hart/Bruce is producing right now.
  7. Greinke is a legitmate ace. And the Brewers gave up two B prospects and one C prospect for him for two years.
  8. Teams need 5 OFers, the Brewers have 5 OFers. That is not an excess.
  9. They need to sell because the Brewers' #7 starter lost to the Pirates' #1 starter in a one run game with the 2 best hitting Brewer starters out? OK.
  10. Axford giving up a home run to Barmes has to be one of the least likely things ever.
  11. Check out some the early 90s lineups. 1994? Seitzer lead the team with a 828 OPS. 1993 was hardly any better. 1992 was bad as well. No playoff drought if someone besides Molitor could have hit on that team. And these weren't once in a while lineups, they were every single day.
  12. See, really should have gone with Clay Tweel played SS at a juco but then tore up his ankle leading him to transfer to USC.
  13. Look around the league, that lineup would probably be in the top half of the NL
  14. Youkilis probably can't play 3B. Its a question if he can play much at all, hence why he's being made available.
  15. Castro might not stick at SS and is about to hit arbitration
  16. A cycle in spring training? Really? Gennett has an ISO of .111 in AA. Which makes him Craig Counsell without the great defense.
  17. Yes lets overwork Parra. You know the only reliever not named Axford pitching well.
  18. Weird thing? Its still looks better than the Dodger line up. The holes the Dodgers have on their position side is amazing for a team 15 games above .500.
  19. One player a year seems to go on the DL for punching a wall. so I think people are overestimating the impact that as a reason.
  20. Ok, it looks like the last poster is right. I will have to explain myself again. Because not one person can name me a shortstop who projects to be a GG caliber defender who can hit for power, who projects to carry a .high .300's OBP(.380/.390) while hitting .300 as well as stealing bases. I asked several times when was the last time a SS like that came up an I got Castro who does NOT draw walks and who is most certainly NOT a GG caliber defender at SS and has major questions about him being able to stay at SS. And you're asking ME about why I think he is a once in a generation type player. Don't then attribute other players labels as once in a generation type player label to ME? I never said those guys were "once in a generation." I never said either way, though Harper is. But does it make you feel better to know that he's now the #2 prospect in all the minors behind ONLY Dylan Bundy? And I'm sick of rattling off how impressive a debut he has to push Profar to #2, so if you don't know, look him up. Still though, I've had several people call me out on that comment and yet have been unable to find one single player to compare him to in the last decade or so. Troy Tulowitzki is pretty good. You might have heard of him?
  21. Capuano wanted to be assured of a starting chance, the Brewers didn't give him one.
  22. The chance Lawrie has anywhere near the career Sheffield had is very slim. Right now the hope should be a Jason Heyward type rebound.
  23. The Rangers aren't paying Hamilton. Ryan talking about not getting a deal done in season? Yeah, he's gone. But like I've said, Ryan and Greinke don't seem like a good match so I don't see the Rangers as viable either as a trade or a team to sign Greinke after the season.
