No Braun's biggest threat is Upton. A split of votes between Braun and Fielder and the idea that without Upton the DBacks wouldn't make the playoffs and Upton could win a close three way race.
The fact McClendon never returned to Milwaukee is a very good signal he was on the list and the Mets just didn't take him. He would ahev been better than Dillard and would have actually pitched on occasion.
RR not only not using Green today but setting it up so he can avoid using him the entire series! And then he'll have gone over a week without a start and so won't be "baseball ready" so he'll have to sit some more.
Why use up a 40 man spot and service time on players who won't play? Fiers isn't a big deal since he's already 26, but no reason to burn service time on Gindl when he'll be lucky if gets to pinch run.
All of Reyes's skills are elite. Reyes when healthy is a better player than Fielder. Its the healthy part that is at issue. Not sure what Furcal you've seen but the one playing for the Cardinals has hit .238/.289/.371 for them.
Actually that is pretty apt. Kotsay shoudl never be in CF. Yuni should never bat for himself late in a game with as many middle infielders as the Brewers have. In fact he should have been lifted for a PH in the 7th.
The players don't say to themselves "Hey wouldn't it be great if I booted this ball!". Roenicke did say to himself "Hey Betancourt who hasn't put down a bunt all year is a great choice!"
